“Pierced” Vinyl Sculpture by Parra

Kidrobot - “Pierced” Vinyl Sculpture by Parra

Inspired by the melodramatic cover art of romance novels and based on his original silkscreen artwork, Dutch artist Parra (store) has crafted “Pierced,” a 10” tall vinyl sculpture that has no front or back, telling its story in the round. The Blot complains pretty regularly that Kidrobot is not doing enough to push the designer art toy scene forward. So I have to give KR its due when they release a beautiful piece like Pierced. The Blot loves Parra’s pop art and this vinyl statue looks (at least from the pictures) pretty incredible!

Kidrobot - “Pierced” Vinyl Sculpture and Packaging by Parra

Using his signature post-pop imagery and highly saturated colors with contrasting matte and gloss finishes, Parra depicts two figures entwined and suspended in a dramatic dance of passion and pain, revealing multiple levels of love. From one angle, the scene is an ecstatic and intimate moment between lovers. Change your view, and a brutal display of empowerment is revealed. A clothed man impales a nude woman’s neck.

The Pierced vinyl sculpture by Parra has a limited edition run size of 300 pieces and will retail for $150 each beginning June 7th at all Kidrobot stores, kidrobot.com, and select retailers worldwide.

Cream Filled Foster-O by Super7

Cream Filled Foster-O Vinyl Figure by Super7

The Blot’s been wondering for weeks when we’d see a new Super7 vinyl figure unleashed upon the world. Thankfully my question was answered late last week when Super7 dropped an all new Foster in an Oreo inspired colorway. What is black and white and black all over? Why its’ everybody's favorite living cookie, Foster!

Foster is back for a snack all dressed up like his favorite cream-filled, crunchy cookie sandwich, made out of fresh black vinyl with a white cream filling spray. The Cream Filled Filled Foster-O is now available at the Super7 online store for $25 each.

Breaking Gifs Limited Edition Breaking Bad Screen Prints - Gus by Anthony Petrie

Gus” by Anthony Petrie is the third screen print in the Breaking Bad Alternate Reality Game Series released in honor of the hit AMC television show Breaking Bad’s fifth and final season. *Spoiler Alert* This print depicts one of the show’s most pivotal scenes in all of its gruesome glory. While definitely an important moment in the history of Breaking Bad, I just can’t see this print gracing many fans’ walls. I do love the amazing job Petrie did with the print’s shattered glass background. It’s a very cool effect.

Anthony Petrie’s limited edition Breaking Bad screen print “Gus” measures 18”x24”, has a run size of 300 pieces (only 200 available for purchase) and comes hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print will retail for $50 each and can be purchased here.

To celebrate and honor the fifth and final season of Breaking Bad, 16 of the top artists and graphic designers have been commissioned to create screenprints depicting some of the series' most memorable scenes, characters and shocking moments for Gallery1988 and its Breaking Bad ARG, Breaking Gifs. Pixel Propaganda Apparel T-Shirt Collection

Pixel Propaganda Apparel - Latin Crest & Retro Boy T-Shirts

One of the really cool things about running this blog is all of the amazing talented artists and designs The Blot’s gotten to meet over the years. I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting indie clothing brands. Just the other day I was introduced to Andy of Pixel Propaganda Apparel (Facebook page). The Blot’s really digging his brand’s simple yet cartoony style, mixed with some old school 8-bit gaming. He just launched Pixel Propaganda in the fall of 2011, but Andy’s definitely got a vision for where he wants to take this new and exciting line of t-shirts.

Pixel Propaganda Apparel - Classic Pixel Boy, Regal Logo, Pixel Girl & Pixel Boy T-Shirts

You can pick up all of the designs you see here at the Pixel Propaganda online store. Tees run from $9.99-15.95 in a variety of colors and sizes. And if you happen to attend the First Annual Boston Tee Party later this year, be sure to look Pixel Propaganda Apparel up! They’ll be there with a whole slow of indie apparel companies showcasing their wares!

Retailer Exclusive Pajamas Edition Dr. Morkenstein Mork Vinyl Figure by MAD

Pobber Toys - Retailer Exclusive Pajamas Edition Dr. Morkenstein Mork Vinyl Figure by MAD

Pobber Toys just unveiled the fifth colorway of its popular Mork vinyl figure by MAD, the Pajamas Edition Dr. Morkenstein! Did you ever wonder what the evil Dr. Morkenstein looked like as a kid? Well, the amazing new Pajamas Edition Mork answers that very question by showing us the young Dr. Morkenstein in his pajamas. Looking so disarmingly charming and innocent, you might just stop caring that he turned out to be the evil brother. The Blot’s a huge MAD-head, so obviously I’d like this figure regardless, but I really love the backstory of this Mork colorway. It’s just so random that it’s great!

Pobber Toys - Retailer Exclusive Pajamas Edition Dr. Morkenstein Mork Vinyl Figure by MAD

The 6.5” tall Pajamas Edition Dr. Morkenstein vinyl figure features a body clad in red pajamas with grey stars and stripes designs all over, the word BEWARE on the back of his helmet, and the radioactive logo on his hands with the word DANGER on his cuffs. Limited to just 150 pieces, this evil figure will be available at retails worldwide for just $65 each.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation International Movie Posters

G.I. Joe: Retaliation International Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster

The marketing team behind Hasbro’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation have done an amazing job making some pretty cool looking international movie posters from the same 6 stock photos. Why such a big budget movie couldn’t get its graphic designers more still shots of its stars is beyond me! But they definitely made some legit movie posters with not a lot to work with. Now to be completely honest, I have no idea where these posters are from. All I do know is they’re not in English, so they’re international to me! What’s really weird about this first poster is it’s pretty much an exact replica of a poster from the first film, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, but with a new cast of characters (see the original here). Neither poster is really all that special, so it’s weird they replicated for sequel.

Breaking Bad Screen Print #2 - Hector Salamanca by Tom Whalen

Breaking Gifs Limited Edition Breaking Bad Screen Prints - Hector Salamanca by Tom Whalen

Hector Salamanca” by Tom Whalen is the second screen print in the Breaking Bad Alternate Reality Game Series released in honor of the hit AMC television show Breaking Bad’s fifth and final season. Hector Salamanca is definitely one of The Blot’s favorite characters in Breaking Bad, and that’s saying a lot for a person who speaks only using a tiny bell. But oh man does that bell pack a big bang! See what I did there? Whalen never ceases to amaze me with his work, and this Breaking Bad print is perfect. I just love all the little details he included in that ominous bell.

Tom Whalen’s limited edition Breaking Bad screen print “Hector Salamanca” measures 18”x24”, has a run size of 300 pieces (only 200 available for purchase) and comes hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print will retail for $50 each and can be purchased here.
