Gyochō Devilgappa Vinyl Figure by Paul Kaiju

Check out the newest creation from Paul Kaiju, the Gyochō Devilgappa! Gyochō is a fish/bird amphibious type creature that once ruled the land, water, and sky of primordial Earth long before the eve of man. The last of his kind, Gyochō finds his soul locked on Purgatory island with nothing better to do than play the perpetual antagonist to the Gobo Gang, and eat lots and lots of junk food.

The Gyochō Devilgappa stands 9” tall, features 9 points of articulation, and is cast in green soft Japanese vinyl with metallic sprays. This wonderous new figure will be sold by raffle on Sunday, February 17th, at the Paul Kaiju website for $250. Collectors can enter the raffle between 8am and 8pm PST on the 17th. Winners will be drawn randomly from all entries, and notified within 4 days after raffle closing.

Presented by Clutter, the Designer Toy Awards (DTAs) is an annual event honoring excellence and innovation in the field of Designer Toys. With categories like Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Toy of the Year and Artist of the Year (among many others) the DTAs highlight the year's best designs, concepts and accomplishments by both veterans and newcomers in the diverse world of Designer Toys.

Running from now through February 28th, 2019 at 6pm EST, nominations can be submitted at DesignerToyAwards.com. This year's awards will accept nominations for releases, artists, and companies that were active from January 1st, 2018 to December 31st, 2018. So get to nominating! Yesterday, Mondo celebrated one of the most beloved comedies of all time, Ghostbusters, by releasing an epic collection of officially licensed merchandise based on the world’s favorite team of paranormal investigators. Along with a new print and series of pins comes this amazing Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Tiki Mug! The Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Mondo Tee-kis Mug stands 8” tall, holds approximately 36oz and is made of ceramic.

Three versions of the Stay Puft Marshamllow Man went on sale yesterday at the Mondo online store. The Standard Edition ($50) features blue-wiped glaze with red spot decorations, the Bone Variant ($55) features black-wiped glaze and is limited to 650 pieces, and the Crossing the Streams Variant ($75) features orange-wiped glaze and is limited to 200 pieces. There will also be a fourth colorway, a Brown Glaze, which will be available exclusively at select Alamo Drafthouse theater locations very soon.

Ahwroo debuted in Baseman’s 2012 exhibition “Vicious” that showed in Milan, Italy at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea. Ahwroo appears in dozens of drawings and paintings cavorting in a mostly gray world. He engages with other Ahwroos, other creatures, and girls with hollowed out eyes. He’s obnoxious and aggressive, clever, curious. Ahwroo only wants some attention and affection, and draws blood when he doesn’t get it. When Gary created Ahwroo, he stood for hunger and the drive that humans can have when they want so badly something or someone unattainable.
