The CW & DC Comics to add a Vixen Animated Series to their Super Hero TV Universe

Vixen Animated Series by DC Comics x The CW

If you’ve been reading TheBlotSays.com for a while, then you probably know of my love of C and D-List heroes. Since I was 8 I’ve been a diehard fan of teams like the Suicide Squad, Justice League International, and the Detroit era of the JLA. Two of those teams had one major character in common, Vixen! Yesterday at the Television Critics Association press tour, The CW announced it is expanding its DC Comics television universe with a new Vixen animated webseries! Yes, you read that right…Vixen of all characters is getting her own show! What this means is the new Vixen series will take place in the same world as the hit television shows Arrow and The Flash. I just hope this leads to Vixen appearing in one of the live action shows as well!

If you’re not familiar with Vixen, her real name is Mari Jiwe McCabe and she uses the Tantu totem (which she inherited from her family) to access the powers of the animal kingdom. While we don’t know too much about the upcoming Vixen series, The Blot is beyond pumped! I can’t wait to see her team up with former teammates like the Justice League of America’s Vibe (Paco Ramon) or the Suicide Squad’s Bronze Tiger and Deadshot. The webseries will be executive produced by Marc Guggenheim and air exclusively on CW Seed. I can’t wait to find out more!
