Whyno Mini Concrete Figures by Dez Einswell x Concrete Geometric

Dez Einswell’s Whyno is back in a crazy new form… concrete! For this heavy collaboration, Dez has teamed up with Concrete Geometric. Together they have released an awesome series of one of a kind Whyno Mini Concrete Figures. Each 4” figure in this new series was hand cast and pigmented for some really cool 1-off effects. Dez Einswell Fall 2014 T-Shirt Collection

Dez Einswell just dropped four new tees in his Doodle Barn online store that you won’t want to miss! Dez’ Fall 2014 Collection includes “SoothSawyers”, which is dedicated to the spirit of adventure and exploration, the basketball inspired “Haystacks”, the “Einswell Beat Box” character tee featuring Ruckey from the Meemees clan, and the “Doodle Pocket D” that includes a big D comprised of camo faces. DCon Exclusive Bounty Wok-R Star Wars Resin Figure by Dez Einswell

Dez Einswell’s amazing Star Wars Wok-R series returns this weekend at Designer Con 2013 with the Bounty Wok-R colorway! Sculpted by J*RYU, Dez Einswell’s 8” Bounty Wok-R features a killer Boba Fett paint job which you know has The Blot drooling all over it. There is also a run of Bounty Wok-R skatedecks to go along with the figure. Collectors can snag both of them directly from Dez at his DCon booth this weekend and maybe if we’re lucky a few will show up on his website DoodleBarn.com after the convention.

SDCC 2012 Exclusive Sky Wok-R Star Wars Resin Figure by Dez Einswell

The Blot was so bummed that I didn’t find out about this awesome Star Wars released until after it sold out at San Diego Comic-2012. Sculpted by J*RYU, Dez Einswell’s 8” Sky Wok-R is straight up fire! I love seeing one of Dez’ signature characters rocking a Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot paint job. And what really ties this design together for me is how Dez transformed the Wok-R’s seatback into R2-D2. For all of us that missed out on the original release, rumor has it Dez will be releasing the Sky Wok-R print seen above sometime soon at DoodleBarn.com.

Imperial Wok-R Star Wars Resin Figure by Dez Einswell

Earlier today Dez Einswell released his second Star Wars inspired colorway of his Wok-R resin figure. This massive 8” figure was hand painted by Dez to resemble an imperial TIE Fighter Pilot and it looks smoking hot!!! Dez’ San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive Sky Wok-R with its X-Wing Pilot colorway was definitely one of my top 5 SDCC exclusives from last summer and this release is the perfect companion piece to it. 

The Imperial Wok-R Resin Figure by Dez Einswell has a limited edition run size of just 10 pieces, each piece comes hand signed and numbered by the artist, and can be purchased at Dez online website DoodleBarn.com for $280 each.

Gold Coin x Argonaut Resin Special Edition Featured Artist Custom Stick Up! Figures

This week Argonaut Resin and Gold Coin announced a very special project involving their line of Stick Up! resin figures. (link) The Stick Up! resin figure deserves a grand finale, and that’s exactly what it’s going to get. To end the 30 piece series, the last 4 blank figures were given to a select group of artists to customize. These artists include Mr. Shane Jessup, Jon Knox (Hello, Brute), Dez Einswell, and Three (GOLDCOIN), and their four figures constitute the Special Edition Featured Artist Wave.


These extremely talented artists are working on their hand painted custom figures now, and all 4 one off pieces will be available at auction very soon. Stay tuned for more info on the piece details and auction dates soon.

Iron Ape by Dez Einswell

This is the fourth installment of The Blot’s five part series on Comic Book Inspired Designer Vinyl Figure Colorways.

Dez Einswell’s Iron Ape is the newest colorway of Einswell’s 8 inch vinyl figure Dez Einswell x XLarge Silverback Gorilla, a collaboration with clothing company XLarge. This 2008 San Diego Comic Con exclusive is pretty incredible and even includes the custom mask seen below to help transform Dez’ Silverback Gorilla into a real Iron Ape. Iron Ape’s colorway is based on the Marvel Comics super hero Iron Man and it really came out at the perfect time, hot on the heels of the live action summer blockbuster, Iron Man.


The Blot has much love for Dez Einswell due to his immense dedication to the comic book inspired colorway. This is actually his second San Diego Comic Con exclusive super hero inspired colorway, the first coming in 2007. How great is that, two super hero colorways in a row and both came out perfectly. His 2007 SDCC exclusive was a Dez Einswell x XLarge Silverback Gorilla Hulking colorway, which paid homage to Marvel’s Incredible Hulk by having the figure’s skin green and clothing purple. It seems like the Hulk has an extremely popular color scheme doesn’t he? Hopefully Einswell will continue this series of colorways with another comic book inspired one next summer.


The original Dez Einswell x XLarge Silverback Gorilla vinyl figure is limited to 300 figures and retails for $85. While Iron Ape was originally released as a 2008 San Diego Comic Con exclusive, it will be released soon for purchase world wide on Einswell’s website DoodleBarn.com. I still haven’t heard a confirmed run size for the Iron Ape figure, but I believe it will retail for around $85 as well.
