Grateful Dead Buddha Bear Bronze Statue by AJ Masthay x Bottleneck Gallery

Grateful Dead Buddha Bear Bronze Statue by AJ Masthay x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery is releasing this epic Grateful Dead inspired Buddha Bear Bronze Statue by artist AJ Masthay! As BNG explained, “AJ’s newest statue is a zen Buddha Bear made that’s decked out in good vibes. Made entirely from Bronze, the Buddha Bear was a true labor of love – created based off of one of AJ’s beloved drawings, and expertly sculpted alongside AJ to ensure that all of the details translated as perfectly as possible. We love seeing AJ’s characters come to life, and we love the results here, especially the pop of color from the red ruby in the skull.”

Jerry Garcia Art Print by Tyler Stout x Bottleneck Gallery

Jerry Garcia Grateful Dead Art Print by Tyler Stout x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery teams up with acclaimed artist Tyler Stout to release a beautiful new tribute to the Grateful Dead’s iconic front man, Jerry Garcia! As BNG explained, “Tyler Stout’s art, including his many movie, personal, and gig posters is beloved and renowned among hobbyists and longtime collectors in our community, and we cannot think of a more appropriate artist to create an ode to Jerry Garcia. Jerry and the Grateful Dead’s music is layered and full of wildly inventive musicianship, almost like an audio collage, and Tyler is a wizard at using layering and collaging to tell a story. Using vivid colors that literally pop off of the paper, Tyler’s floral-filled print flows perfectly with Jerry’s music, and we’re stoked with the colors of each unique edition!”

Grateful Dead Dancing Bear ReAction Figures by Super7

Super7 continues its very cool line of Grateful Dead ReAction retro action figures with this amazing new series of Dancing Bears ReAction figures! When artist Bob Thomas designed the Dancing Bears for Grateful Dead soundman Owsley “Bear” Stanley, they were to only appear on the back cover of the band’s 1973 album The History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice). Little did he or anyone know that they would become as synonymous with the Dead as trading bootleg tapes, improvised jam sessions, and global counterculture!

Head over to the Bottleneck Gallery online store now and place your order today!

In addition, 5% of all sales will go towards a fund for Matt and Harolyn Matteson’s children. Matt gave so much to the art community, and BNG want to ensure that we give back during a time of need for his family.

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead Collection

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead T-Shirt Collection - Steal Your Face Raglan T-Shirts

One thing you may not know about The Blot is I’m a HUGE Grateful Dead fan. Even though I’m still in my early 30s, I proud to say I’ve even seen the Dead in concert. It was their second to last tour before Jerry Garcia passed away and somehow I convinced my parents to let me go even though I wasn’t even old enough to drive. Looking back on it that was one of the crazier shows I’ve ever been to. So when The Hundreds announced they’d be releasing a new collection of Grateful Dead clothing on 4/20 The Blot got really excited.

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead T-Shirt Collection - Tie Dyed T-Shirts

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead T-Shirt Collection - Tie Dyed Sneakers

Bobby Hundreds called this an “unexpected and unpredictable collaboration,” but that’s why I love it so much. Over the past few years The Hundreds has released some really surprising collabs while still staying true to their brand. They seek fellow innovators in an attempt to bring their fans something new and unique. Bobby put it best, “as with the Grateful Dead, The Hundreds puts the people before the product, drawing our own lines, and pioneering our own subcultural marketplace beyond the traditional path.”

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead T-Shirt Collection - Long Sleeve Tie Dyed T-Shirts

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead T-Shirt Collection - Dancing Bears Tie Dyed T-Shirts

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead T-Shirt Collection - Snapback Hat

The Hundreds x Grateful Dead Collection comprises a full range of graphic tees, tanks, specialty shirts (one raglan and one button-up), sweatshirts, a jacket, hats (one snapback and one beanie), a sneaker (limited to 100 pairs), a keychain and a sticker pack all featuring original The Hundreds graphics inspired by the Grateful Dead’s illustriously eclectic aesthetic, as well as a recurring tie-dye motif. The entire collection will go on sale through The Hundreds online store on Saturday, April 20th.

Grateful Dead x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Sneakers

The Blot has been a huge Grateful Dead fan since Jr. High, so I was pretty excited when I heard Converse, as part of their 100th Anniversary Connectivity ad campaign, was releasing a new line of Grateful Dead Chuck Taylors. Music is a huge theme of Converse’s 100th Anniversary, and the company is wisely playing up the popularity of its Chuck Taylor All Stars within the culture of rock & roll.

Grateful Dead x Converse Sneakers - Steal Your Face Black Chuck Taylor All Stars
Grateful Dead x Converse Sneakers - Steal Your Face White Chuck Taylor All Stars
The Grateful Dead Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers come in three styles, Steal Your Face, Skull and Roses, and Ice Cream Boy (by Stanley Mouse for the cover of the Grateful Dead album Europe ’72). The Grateful Dead All Stars are available now at Converse.com for $49.99 (the white Steal Your Face Chucks are $69.99).

Grateful Dead x Converse Sneakers - Skull and Roses Chuck Taylor All Stars
Along with the Grateful Dead All Stars and the previously released The Ramones Chuck Taylors, Converse is also releasing a line of Kurt Cobain and The Doors inspired sneakers. So be on the look out for those shoes in the near future.
