Today Kidrobot has released these awesome stylized monochromatic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles medium vinyl figures! You know, it’s been a really long time since Kidrobot has produced a really cool licensed designer art toy, and The Blot is seriously loving these TMNT figures. I love KR’s unique take on Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael.

Each totally tubular Ninja Turtles figure stands 8” tall and was produced in a monochromatic unpainted vinyl corresponding to the character’s signature mask color.  All four turtles include their trademark weapon, come striking a battle pose and feature three points of articulation (head and arms). The Blot can’t even begin to tell you how saddened I was to hear that not only would Kidrobot not be having a booth at San Diego Comic-Con this year, but there won’t be a single SDCC 2014 exclusive production Dunny, Fatcap or Labbit! It is seriously an end of an era. I’m not sure what this says about the state of the designer art toy world, but it can’t be good. Kidrobot’s lone Comic-Con 2014 exclusive are these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Bebop and Rocksteady 7” vinyl figures.

Kidrobot’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mini Figure Series has hit stores, and it’s fantastic! This is the third ‘80s era TMNT blind box series to drop this year, but The Blot definitely thinks this is the best of the bunch. Based on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, this blind box series features ten characters in all, including Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, Splinter, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Kraang and a Foot Soldier. Each 3” vinyl figure includes character specific weapons and armor!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-Shirt Collection by Kidrobot

All summer long Kidrobot will be releasing officially licensed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl figures, key chains and clothing based on the old school ‘80s animated series! Just last week they released this pretty cute TMNT T-Shirt Collection, so now you too can look like a Turtle in a Half Shell. While I’m digging the designs, I’m a little disappointed Kidrobot didn’t produce something a little more cutting edge. Personally, I would have loved to see KR utilize its large stable of urban artists and let them creating designs featuring Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Instead we got a collection very reminiscent of so many previously released TMNT collections by other companies. I do have to give Kidrobot the benefit of the doubt though, as they probably had to work within the guidelines set by Nickelodeon.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles “Ooze Action” GID Mini Figures by Kidrobot

All summer long Kidrobot will be releasing new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl figures based on the franchise's classic animated look! To kick things off KR has released this awesome series of glow in the dark “Ooze Action” TMNT mini figures. This GID series includes all four turtles (Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael), Master Splinter and the evil Shredder. Each 3” figure includes character specific weapon accessories and comes packaged individually on a really cool, full color blistercard. Pretty cool, right!?!

Each “Ooze Action” Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Glow in the Dark Mini Figure retails for $9.99 each, or you can order a complete set of all 6 GID Ooze Action figures from Entertainment Earth for $54.99 here.

First Look: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vinyl Figures by Kidrobot

Thanks to Forbidden Planet, the world has its first look at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl figures Kidrobot’s been teasing on their Instagram page! From the solicitations Forbidden Planet has on their website it appears KR will be releasing a pretty diverse line of TMTN figures right from the start, which will include a TMNT Mini Figure Blind Box Series based on the classic ‘80s animated series, as well as a line of DIY TMNT 4”Mini Munnys and 7” vinyl figures of mutant villains Bebop and Rocksteady. You have to hand it to Kidrobot, they don’t mess around when they get their hands on a license.

The do it yourself TMNT Mini Munnys seem to be similar to the previously released Marvel DIY Mini Munnys, and will include stickers and one accessory so you can build your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. There is Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael to choose from. The TMNT Blind Box Series will include 10 different 3” mini figures of the four Ninja Turtles, Splinter, Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and a Foot Soldier. I’m just disappointed April O’Neal and Casey Jones weren’t included. Here’s hoping they show up as mystery chase figures!
