New Johnny Cupcakes Disney T-Shirts!

Earlier this week Johnny Cupcakes had a surprise release of four new Disney themed t-shirts! This exciting new collection included two Toy Story Big Kid designs – “Buddy Big Kid” and “Bakeyear Big Kid” – featuring the Johnny Cupcakes mascot dressed up as Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Disney/Pixar Mystery Minis Blind Box Mini Figure Series by Funko

Following its huge announcement of a new DC Comics x Domo blind box mini figure series, Funko will also be releasing a killer new Disney/Pixar Mystery Mini blind box series! This new release features 8 beloved Disney/Pixar characters each in 3 charming poses. It’s seriously crazy how cute these 2.5” vinyl figures are!

This is a pretty unique series in that there are three versions of every character, which includes Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Maleficent, Tinker Bell, Sulley, Mike, Stitch and Jack Skellington. Each character expression also has its own ratio, with happy Pooh, laughing Sulley and squinting Jack each featuring an extremely hard to find ratio of 1/144! This is going to be one awesome, yet hard to complete, blind box series!

Monsters, Inc. Cosbaby Series by Hot Toys

This weekend Monsters, Inc. will be rereleased in theaters, this time in 3D! So what better time to cover Hot Toys’ newest Cosbaby Series featuring characters from the hit Disney/Pixar movie. The Blot’s a little embarrassed to admit I’ve never seen Monsters, Inc., even though everyone seems to love it and many claim it as their favorite Pixar animated film. If only it wasn’t in 3D this time around or I might go see it in the theaters.

The Monsters, Inc. Cosbaby Series by Hot Toys includes six figures in all: Boo, Monster Boo, Sulley, Mike, Diver Mike, and Randall. Each Cosbaby vinyl figure stands 3” tall, includes multiple points of articulation and features your favorite movie characters in baby form. Expect this Hot Toys x Disney collaboration in stores everywhere early 2013.

Popcorns Vinylmation Series 1 by Disney

Disney has finally unveiled its complete line-up of its new Popcorns Vinylmation Series 1 and it’s basically a who’s who of Disney animation! For its first wave of figures, this fun and quirky toy line includes Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Chip and Dale, Dumbo, Kermit the Frog, Sulley, Jack Skellington, and the villainous Chernabog. It’s really got a little something for everyone, don’t you think? The only negative I see to this line is it’s an open edition series, meaning none of the figures in Series 1 are limited edition. Regardless, The Blot definitely wants to get my hands on a couple of these vinyl figures, especially Kermit!

Popcorns Series 1 goes on sale this Friday, September 28th, on D-Street in Disneyland and Disney World, and then one week later at the Disney online store on Friday, October 5th for $24.95 each.

SDCC 12 Exclusive Sulley Color Studies from The Art of Pixar Disney Blox Vinyl Figures by Funko

We’re halfway done with San Diego Comic-Con 2012, but there are still more great exclusives to highlight here on TheBlotSays.com! How about these cool Monsters, Inc. Sullivan Disney Blox vinyl figures by Funko. Each colorway is based on Sulley color studies from The Art of Pixar book. I actually like these color combos and I know all of the diehard Disney/Pixar fans out there will definitely want to get their hands on these.

SDCC 12 Exclusive Disney Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko

It’s rare that Funko announces its San Diego Comic-Con exclusives ahead of time, so The Blot was really excited when these photos of its SDCC 2012 Disney Pop! vinyl figure exclusives hit the internet. My favorite of the bunch is definitely this flocked Winnie the Pooh vinyl figure, although 9” Sulley with 3.75” Metallic Boo 2 pack is also nice! Other of Funko’s San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive Disney Pop! vinyl figures include a blue Cheshire Cat, a metallic Alien, a glow in the dark Oogie Boogie, a Fantasia 2 Pack that includes metallic Sorcery Mickey and Chernobog vinyl figures, and a Muppets 3 Pack that includes 2 metallic Snowths and a metallic Mahna Mahna.

Monsters, Inc. Screen Print by Tom Whalen

Spinning out of Mondo’s hugely popular Disney Classic Cartoon Series comes the all Pixar Screen Print Series! Kicking it off is this awesome Monsters, Inc. movie poster by Tom Whalen. Tom’s been on an incredible tear lately and has produced some of The Blot’s favorite prints of 2011. What I love about Whalen’s art is all the extra characters he always makes sure to include in his screen prints, and Monsters, Inc. is no exception!

Monsters, Inc. by Tom Whalen is a 4 color 18”x24” screen print, it has a limited edition run size of 365 pieces and will retail for $45. This fun Pixar movie poster goes on sale at the Mondo online store today, Friday, September 2nd, at a random time.

Disney Pop! Vinyl Figures Wave 2

If you loved Funko’s first wave of Pop! Disney Store vinyl figures, then you’re really going to love Wave 2! What I like about this 12 figure set is the good mix of classic Disney characters and new Pixar favorites. Pop! Disney Store Wave 2 includes Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Belle and Beast from Beauty and the Beast, Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jessie and Lotso from Toy Story 3, Boo and George Sanderson from Monsters Inc., and Mr. Incredible and Syndrome from The Incredibles.

I was half expecting this release to debut at San Diego Comic-Con, but according to Pixar Talk Wave 2 will premier at D23 Expo August 19-21st at the Anaheim Convention Center. After that, all twelve figures will be available at Disney Stores around the world and the online Disney Store for around $10 each.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Pop! Disney Store Vinyl Figures by Funko

Here is your first look at Funko’s San Diego Comic-Con 2011 3.75” Pop! Disney vinyl figures! Funko is seriously giving us a little bit of everything with this Comic-Con release. First up is a Metallic Monochromatic Mickey Mouse painted in shades of black, gray and silver. Next is the “Retro Suit” Mr. Incredible SDCC Variant from Pixar’s The Incredibles. And last but not least are two beautiful SDCC exclusive figures of Sully and Mike, the stars of Pixar’s Monsters Inc. Sully comes flocked (which The Blot absolutely loves), and Mike Wazowski has been produced in light green glow in the dark vinyl.

All four San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Pop! Disney Vinyl Figures stand 3.75” tall, has a rotating head and comes in a displayable window box. Each of these 4 figures have limited edition run sizes of 480 pieces and can be purchased at Funko’s SDCC booth #4829.

Disney Pop! Vinyl Figures Official Photos

A little birdy (or was it a mouse) sent me this official first look at Funko’s upcoming line of Disney Pop! Vinyl Figures! As you know, The Blot’s been looking forward to this new Pop! Series and I am really excited to debut the toy line’s official line-up. Pop! Disney Wave 1 features Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell, Snow White, Toy Story’s Woody and Buzz, Monsters Inc.’s Sully and Mike, Pinnochio, Jiminy Cricket, Stitch, and villains Cruella de Vil and Maleficent.

What I really like about Funko’s first wave of Pop! Disney vinyl figures is the huge variety of classic characters and new Pixar favorites included in the series. From Mickey and Snow White, to Stitch and Buzz, almost every era of Disney magic is accounted for. And with Disney’s huge roster of characters, this is one Pop! line that could go on indefinitely!

Pop! Disney Wave 1 includes 12 figures in all and from the looks of the packaging, will be sold exclusively at Disney Stores worldwide. Look for these cute and blocky Disney vinyl figures in a Disney Store near you sometime soon!

First Look: Monsters Inc. Pop! Disney Vinyl Figure Prototypes by Funko

And the leaks just keep on coming! After unveiling prototypes of The Incredibles and Toy Story Pop! Disney figures, Gemini Collectibles has also posted photos in their prototype section of two characters from the Disney/Pixar movie Monster’s Inc., Sulley and Mike Wazowski. While The Blot loves Disney’s Pixar movies as much as anyone, I am a little surprised we haven’t seen any Pop! vinyl figures of Disney’s core group of characters. Give me a cute and chunky Mickey or Goofy any day!

We’re still awaiting official word of Funko’s new line of Disney vinyl figures, but you can purchase the three figures above directly from Gemini Collectibles here for $75 each.

Disney Vinylmation Sully & Boo Monsters, Inc. Vinyl Figure Set

On April 2, 2010, Disney released its Vinylmation Park Series #4 set, which includes twelve 3 inch blind box figures and five 9 inch figures. While most of the series is forgettable, The Blot really loves the Pixar Monsters, Inc. two figure set featuring a 9” Sully and a 3” Boo dressed as a monster. The Blot’s a sucker for platforms featuring designs of established characters, and what’s not to love when those figures are from Monsters, Inc.!?!


The Disney Vinylmation Monsters, Inc. figures can only be purchased as a set at Disney World and Disneyland theme parks. The 9” Sully Mickey Mouse and 3” Boo Mickey Mouse are limited edition and sure to sell out quickly, so if you want these awesome vinyl figures be sure to get to California or Orlando quickly. While the price is currently unknown, Vinylmation sets such as this one typically retail for around $40.
