Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Television Show Teaser Posters

Although The Blot hasn’t seen a single episode yet, I think it’s safe to say my new TV guilty pleasure is Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger television series – which premiers on Freeform tonight! As a kid I was huge Cloak and Dagger fan, but since the duo’s heyday of the ‘80s and ‘90s they’ve only made sporadic appearances in the comic book Marvel Universe. That all changes tonight once the new live action TV show airs, as Marvel’s already announced a new comic book starring these two teenage super heroes.

If you’re not familiar with Cloak and Dagger, it stars Olivai Holt as Tandy Bowen aka Dagger and Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson aka Cloak, teenagers who are awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. The characters were created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan and debuted in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #64 back in 1982. As Freeform explains, “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved comic characters. Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul.”

To hype up the series, Marvel and Freeform have released the three Cloak and Dagger teaser posters above, one of which is currently hanging up in my twins’ bedroom - my local comic shop was giving out the top poster at Free Comic Book Day last month. The illustrated poster was given away to fans at New York Comic Con 2017 last summer. Who’s planning on checking out this new Marvel TV show airing on the Disney/ABC owned Freeform channel?

It’s just too bad this killer colorway was released exclusively at New York Comic Con 2017, with a very small limited supply released online at the Bambaland online store for $160.

The Snow Strike Black Widow 1/6th Scale Collectible Marvel Figure by Ashely Wood and ThreeA stands 13” tall, features 24 points of articulation, comes wearing a laser cut tailored catsuit and a clear vinyl artic coat. The figure also includes 3 sets of interchangeable hands, 2 Glock 17s with holsters, 2 wrist stingers and 1 masked interchangeable head.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 2 Teaser Television Series Poster by Joe Quesada

At New York Comic Con 2017, Marvel and Netflix released this beautiful new one sheet poster for Jessica Jones Season 2 by Joe Quesada! The Blot’s a huge fan of Marvel’s Alias comic book series and I really enjoyed the Netflix series it is based on. Plus how can you not love more original artwork by comic book legend Quesada! He really needs to do a book again. I am really excited to see where Jessica Jones Season 2 takes its uniquely damaged cast of characters. Netflix will be releasing Jessica Jones Season 2 for our binging pleasure in 2018.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Television Series Poster

At New York Comic Con 2017, ABC and Marvel released this fantastic new one sheet poster for Agents of SHIELD Season 5 featuring the show’s entire cast. I love that they turned the SHILED logo into a constellation to symbolize Coulson’s trip to space. It’s also exciting to see Yo-Yo officially graduate to be a primary team member by finally getting featured in some of the series’ marketing materials. Agents of SHIELD will premiere on Friday, December 1st, at 8/7c on ABC.

Satanikids Rocky Resin Figure by Abe Lincoln Jr

After debuting at New York Comic Con 2017, Tenacious Toys has just put up for pre-sale Abe Lincoln Jr’s Rocky, the first figure in Abe’s new line of Satanikids resin figures! What’s great about this release is that it’s a perfect 3D rendering of Abe Lincoln Jr’s signature cartoony art style. Sculpt by Mike “NEMO” Mendez and cast by Jacob JAMS, Rocky stands 2.5” tall and is limited to just 13 pieces. Each figure also includes a free Satanikids comic. The Blot would love to read that one! One of The Blot’s favorite poster releases at New York Comic Con 2017 was this beautiful Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 movie poster screen print by Guillaume Morellec! I just love the fantastical way the stars are flowing out of Groot’s hand and filling the night’s sky. Released by Bottleneck Gallery – in conjunction with Grey Matter Art – this officially licensed Marvel screen print features a blacklight reactive layer (for extra cool special effects) and measures 20”x36”. Limited to 200 pieces, this poster retailed for $50 but is now sold out.

Blade Runner Movie Poster Screen Print by Vance Kelly x Hero Complex Gallery

After debuting at New York Comic Con 2017, Hero Complex Gallery has released online this killer movie poster for the original Blade Runner film by Vance Kelly! And it’s perfect timing with Blade Runner 2049 in theaters now. Entitled “You Got The Wrong Guy Pal”, this fantastic screen print is available in two editions: Regular and Variant.
