How To Talk To Girls At Parties Movie Poster Screen Print by Fábio Moon x Mondo

How To Talk To Girls At Parties Movie Poster Screen Print by Fábio Moon x Mondo

Mondo has released a stunning new poster by Fábio Moon for A24's latest film, How to Talk to Girls at Parties! This film was adapted from a short story by Neil Gaiman, was directed by John Cameron Mitchell and stars Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp and Nicole Kidman. Its story is set in 1970s London and follows Enn and his friends, John and Vic, as they find themselves at a “party” that is actually a gathering of visiting aliens. The Blot can’t wait to see this one!

As Mondo explained, “We're huge fans of Fábio Moon and are crazy excited to partner up with him for duties on this poster. He and his brother Gabriel Bá were the artists on the original short story and we knew instantly we had to ask if he'd be interested in creating art for the film adaptation.” This is a can’t miss release for fans of Moon’s amazing artwork (or Gaiman’s writing). Artist Fábio Moon went on to say “There's something about the connection of the main characters (who are a couple) that's very intimate, very quiet, and at the same time transmits the explosive effect of falling in love. I wanted to put that sense of intimacy in the poster as well as capture the energetic punk aesthetics of the film.”

How to Talk to Girls at Parties by Fábio Moon is an 18”x24” hand numbered screen print. Limited to 150 pieces, this fantastic movie poster is available now at the Mondo online store for just $45.

American Gods Television Series Character Posters

American Gods Television Series Character Posters

Last night was the series premiere of Starz’ newest original series, American Gods! The television show, developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, is an adaptation of the Hugo and Nebula award winning novel of the same name by author Neil Gaiman! The book is fantastic, and without giving too much away, American Gods stars Shadow Moon, a former convict who is hired as Mr. Wednesday's bodyguard and finds himself in a hidden world where a battle is brewing between the Old Gods and the New Gods. At the time I’m writing this blog post the show hasn’t premiered yet, but I will have definitely watched it by the time this post goes live. What did you think!?! Does Starz have another winner on its hands?

Coraline Alphabet Promo Movie Posters

Coraline is an upcoming horror/fantasy stop-motion animation movie based on the children’s novel of the same name by British author Neil Gaiman. In the spirit of full disclosure, I purchased the novel Coraline the week it came out in 2002 and it has sat on my bookshelf ever since. I keep meaning to read it (I really do), and it’s not even that long so I don’t know what my problem. It’s supposed to excellent and has won numerous literary awards since it was released, and yet still it sits there.

Why you might ask then did I purchase Coraline almost seven years ago? Because of Neil Gaiman, end of story. The guy is point blank one of the best writers in the world. His Sandman series published by the DC Comics imprint Vertigo is considered a masterpiece and many literary critics who know way more about the subject than I do consider his comic book series worthy of comparison to some of the best written stories of the modern era. Because of that I’ve started to read Gaiman’s other written works, most of which are not in comic book form.

From the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach, Coraline is the story of a young girl who walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life – a better version. But when this wondrously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her “Other” parents try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home. As you can tell from the story’s description, many have compared the movie to Alice In Wonderland and for good reason.
