Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 3 In Stores Now

In case for some strange reason you aren’t following The Blot on Twitter, I have some very exciting news: Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 3 featuring Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime, ROTF Bumblebee, Shockwave & Jazz can now be found at Toys R Us locations (and possibly other select retailers) nationwide! Are you as shocked as I am these can be found in actual brick and mortar stores? After first learning about the Shockewave and Jazz Mighty Muggs almost a year ago, I can honeslty say I never thought Hasbro would give these figures a large release.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to try and collect this wave or not, but once I saw the Shockwave Mighty Mugg in person I knew I had to have it. It’s all kinds of awesome. I love the figure’s paintjob, and his laser cannon turned out great. I haven't seen this reported anywhere yet, but after opening my Shockwave Mighty Mugg to the pictures seen below I noticed he has a "power cord" connecting his laser cannon to his back harkening to the character's look in the old Marvel comic books. How cool is that!?! It's little extra touches like that which make Mighty Muggs so great. Well done Hasbro!

Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 3 Coming Soon

They’re baaaaack! After an unbelievably long hiatus, Hasbro has finally decided to release an all new wave of Mighty Muggs. While collectors have known the line-up of Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 3 since SDCC 2009 (Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime, Revenge of the Fallen Bumblebee, Shockwave and Jazz), there was some speculation these figures would never see the light of day. Well, it looks like TF Mighty Muggs Wave 3 is a go!

Even though The Blot’s not a huge fan of the live action Transformers movies, it is cool to see movie themed Mighty Muggs finally be released. I do question why it took so long since Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen came out months ago, but it’s still exciting to finally see new Mighty Muggs be produced. I know a lot readers of The Blot Says… first stumbled upon my blog looking for news on Mighty Muggs, so I have a feeling there are some very happy readers out there!

Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 3 is currently available for pre-order at BigBadToyStore.com and the entire wave can be purchased for $49.99. According to BBTS, TF Mighty Muggs Wave 3 is estimated to arrive in stores sometime this month, November 2009!

Nike x Transformers Bumblebee, Megatron and Soundwave Sneakers

To be honest, The Blot doesn’t know much about the soon to be released limited edition Nike x Transformers Sneaker Set, but how cool does the packaging look!?!

The Nike x Transformers Sneaker Set - Megatron Zoom Flight Club, Soundwave Zoom Sharkalaid & Bumblebee Zoom FP Sneakers
The Nike x Transformers Sneaker Set - The Soundwave Zoom Sharkalaid Sneaker Close-UpAccording to Sole Collector, “to celebrate the release of Transformers 2, Nike Basketball has teamed up with Hasbro for a fully licensed collaboration set that will feature three shoes.” (link) The Nike x Transformers Sneaker Set will include a Megatron inspired Zoom Flight Club, a Soundwave inspired Zoom Sharkalaid and a Bumblebee inspired Zoom FP.

The Nike x Transformers Sneaker Set - The Bumblebee Zoom FP Sneaker Close-UpThankfully this sneaker set is based on the Transformers character’s original cartoon/comic book design and not their alien look from the movies. My favorite part of the set by far is the sneakers’ packaging. The shoe boxes that accompany the Nike x Transformers sneaker set look almost identical to the toy line’s packaging from the 80’s. They even included the decodable statistics grid that used to be on the back of every figure. I wonder if the shoes also come with that red piece of plastic you used to have to hold over the statistics grid to decipher the Transformer’s abilities!?!

Johnny Cupcakes x Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen AutoBones T-Shirt

The pop culture themed t-shirts just keep on coming from Johnny Cupcakes this summer! First it was a Wolverine inspired t-shirt, then just last week JC released a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt, and now comes a tee featuring the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime.

Johnny Cupcakes x Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen AutoBones T-Shirt
I think the Optimus Prime version of the classic Johnny Cupcakes “Cupcake and Crossbones” logo turned out pretty cool, and I’m glad to see Johnny used Optimus’ classic look instead of Michael Bay’s movie version for this t-shirt. Even if TF: ROTF sucks, and The Blot’s a little worried it will after reading the film’s initial reviews, at least we got a pretty cool Transformers 2 t-shirt out of it from Johnny Cupcakes.

Johnny Cupcakes’ newest shirt, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen inspired Optimus Cupcake AutoBones t-shirt, drops today, Wednesday, June 24 in all three JC stores and online. The Optimus Cupcake AutoBones shirt retails for $35.99 and can be purchased in both Guys and Girls styles at the Johnny Cupcakes online store.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Final IMAX Movie Poster

Hot on the heels of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Bumblebee character IMAX movie poster comes the Transformers 2 final IMAX one sheet movie poster. The Blot knows he’s repeating himself, but I’m seriously tempted to shell out the extra dough to see this movie in an IMAX theater hoping it will enhance my understanding of the film and its intricate battle scenes. At this point, any additional help in deciphering director Michael Bay’s madness will be greatly appreciated.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Bumblebee Character IMAX Movie Poster

The Blot had a feeling Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen would be coming out in IMAX theaters, but now it’s official with the release of the Bumblebee character IMAX movie poster. I guess I should have known Transformers 2 would be coming out in IMAX since every big summer blockbuster with even the smallest amount of special effects is now released in the oversized format.

Maybe seeing it in an IMAX theater will help me identify the differences between all of the grey, alien looking Decepticons showing up in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, because I still can’t figure out which Decepticons are in the movie’s trailer. Is it The Fallen, Megatron or Starscream in the TF2 commercials?

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Final One Sheet Movie Poster

The Blot is currently boycotting the internet after that pitiful display Kobe and the Lakers put on last night here in Houston. I can’t believe I actually thought this team was talented enough to win the NBA Championship! How they ended up with the top record in the Western Conference is anyone’s guess. While I sulk here in my office check out the final theatrical one sheet movie poster for this summer’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Final Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster
I’m not as geeked up about this Transformers sequel as a lot of fans are, but I am looking forward to seeing the movie version of some of my favorite G1 Transformers. I probably won’t recognize them, but I hear Arcee and the combiner Devastator will be making their fist live action appearance in the film. Of course Arcee is red and not pink, and would it really have been too hard to make Devastator and the Constructicons green and purple like they are supposed to be!?!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Character Movie Posters

The Blot will be enjoying an extended Mother’s Day with my mom and grandmother today, so I’m going to keep this post extra short. Now that the official summer movie season has begun it look like the promotion of some of the season’s most anticipated films is kicking into high gear. Just check out these new character movie posters for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I’m not a huge fan of Starscream’s new look, but I guess he’s gotta look like every other movie version Decepticon. Does anyone else have a really hard time distinguishing between all of the grey, alien looking movie Decepticons?

The 25th Anniversary of Transformers

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Promotional Movie Standee
The 25th Anniversary of Transformers - Classic Megatron BadgeTo be honest, The Blot had no idea that today, May 8, 2009, marked the 25th Anniversary of Transformers, one of my all time favorite toy lines/comic books/cartoons. While I’m a little late to the party, Shortpacked’s David Willis was all over it. I’m not even going to pretend I understand how the date was determined, but if you’re interested in finding out the whos, whats, whens and whys head over to Shortpacked.com and read Willis’ blog entry for today on the official launch of one of Hasbro’s preeminent franchises. While you’re over there, make sure to read Shortpacked’s webcomic for today, which is also dedicated to Transformers’ 25th Anniversary.

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen - First Look at Ravage & The Doctor

Last week USA Today had a great article on Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen, which included a list of all of the characters set to make their big screen debut in this summer’s hotly anticipated sequel. (link) While director Michael Bay decided to focus on a small group of Autobots and Decepticons in 2007’s Transformers, he has decided to expand the Transformers Movie Universe exponentially this time around, cramming as many new characters in as possible. One such new character is a familiar face fans have been demanding to see since a live adaptation of Transformers was first announced, Ravage!

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen - Ravage
Ravage, as seen above, isn’t exactly the cute little cassette tape/jaguar we all remember. He’s still a cat like creature, but surprisingly he has no alternate mode. Seems an odd decision considering he’s a “transformer.” Thankfully like in all things Transformers, where ever Ravage roams Soundwave is never too far away. The beloved Decepticon Communications Officer will also be making his feature film debut, albeit with one big change. Instead of a tape player he will take the “form of an orbiting space satellite.” (link)

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen - The DoctorOther long time Transformers characters set to make their debut in this summer’s Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen include Autobots Jetfire, Sideswipe, Jolt, Skids, Mudflap and longtime fan favorite (and one of the very few female Transformers) Arcee. On the Decepticon side you can look forward to seeing The Fallen, the Insecticons, Demolisher, the Constructicons (and their combiner Devastator), and a scary new “spider like droid” named The Doctor (link)

Transformers Generation 1 Animated Cartoon - WheelieThe article also mentions another new Decepticon who goes by the name of Wheelie. Now The Blot has some seriously mixed emotions on this announcement, because Wheelie was one of my all time favorite Autobots as a kid. I know a lot of die hard TF fans hated the annoying little guy for his rhyming, trustly slingshot and childlike glee, but I loved his futuristic looking alt mode and color scheme. Hopefully fans' hatred of this late Generation 1 character didn’t lead to his being rebranded a Decepticon. I’m holding out hope it’s just a misprint. Either way, I’m glad to hear a secondary character like Wheelie made it into the movie at all!

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen opens in theaters on June 24, 2009.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen First Look and Official Teaser Movie Poster

The first live action Transformers movie was a huge success (ultimately it grossed over $700 million worldwide) and you know Paramount is expecting even bigger and better things out of its TF sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I definitely prefer my Transformers to look like they did in the Marvel comic books and animated cartoon series, but I actually liked the live action movie and think director Michael Bay did a pretty good job. I still hate what the movie did to the look of some of my favorite childhood toys though. Why oh why did they give Optimus Prime those horrible red flames!?!

Above is the official Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen teaser movie poster and below are two first look action shots from the upcoming release. The first photo features a battle scarred Optimus Prime while the other photo features Megan Fox as Mikaela Banes and Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky running for their lives. Not too much is known yet about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but I am sure more details will start to leak out any day now as we inch closer to its summer 2009 release.
