True Blood Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko

HBO has scheduled the premiere of True Blood’s seventh and final season on June 22, 2014, and what better way to celebrate the conclusion of this cult classic than with an all new line of Pop! Television vinyl figures by Funko! The Blot’s honestly surprised there have not been more toy tie-ins with this supernatural thriller. Vampires, shape-shifters and werewolves tend to lend themselves to designer art toys these days. The True Blood Pop! Vinyl Figure Series includes Sookie Stackhouse, Bill Compton, Eric Northman, Alcide Herveaux, Lafayette Reynolds and Pam Swynford De Beaufort. I just hope this wave of figures proves popular because there are a ton of True Blood characters I’d love to see get the Pop! treatment. Jason, Sam, Jessica and Tara to name a few!

Each True Blood Pop! Television vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. These figures aren’t expected to hit store shelves until September 2014, but you can pre-order them now from Entertainment Earth for $9.99 each here.

True Blood Season 6 Teaser Posters

True Blood Season 6 Teaser One Sheet Television Poster

After a much too long hiatus True Blood returns to the small screen tonight (Sunday, June 16th) on HBO! I understand why HBO takes such long breaks between seasons but I’ve been jonzing for some Tru:Blood and a return trip to Bon Temps. Surprisingly, reports are tonight’s season premiere takes place immediately after the Season 5 finale. This kind of makes sense considering what happened to close out the hit show’s fifth season. Should prove interesting times for Sookie, Bill, Eric and the rest of their motley crew. The teaser posters for this season aren't as cool as the ones HBO has released in the past, but maybe they're running out of creative Vampire inspired ways to promote each season.

True Blood Season 5 Character TV Posters

True Blood Season 5 Character Movie Posters - Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse

True Blood returned to television last night with a bang (or was it a bite?). Season 5 picked up right where Season 4 ended, and so much happened in last night’s episode The Blot’s not even sure I caught everything. If the season premiere is any indication, True Blood’s fifth season might be its best yet! For the first time in over a year I’m actually intrigued by every one of the show’s many storylines. Last season the show lost me the annoying devil baby storyline, but so far everything looks fresh and exciting. Hopefully the cast and crew can keep up this pacing for the rest of the season.

This huge set of True Blood Season 5 character television posters is so simple, and yet every actor’s expression is so enticing it really ads depth to each one sheet. And the fact that this set includes so much of the show’s large ensemble cast is pretty cool. It just goes to show you how many important characters this show has now.

True Blood Season 2 Premiere and Character Television Promo Posters

On Sunday, June 14th True Blood returns to HBO for a second season. The Blot was really excited when I first heard that Six Feet Under’s Alan Ball was creating a new show for HBO. I was even more intrigued when I learned the show would be about vampires and star the X-Men trilogy’s Anna Paquin.

Then I watched the first episode of True Blood and I didn’t know what to think. The story was interesting and I liked the show’s unique take on vampires, but the cast’s acting was choppy at best. Plus, I couldn’t stand the accents of the show’s cast. Seriously, their fake Cajun accents were enough to make me stop watching True Blood altogether.

I decided to stick with it for a few more episodes, and then something interesting happened…True Blood got really, really good. I’m not sure how many episodes it took for the show to click, but once it did True Blood became my new guilty pleasure. It has everything a viewer could want in an HBO series, a compelling murder mystery intertwined with vampires, drugs and sex.

But it’s not as risqué as you might think. True Blood is heavily character driven with each character having their own demons to deal with on a daily basis and hopefully overcome. What’s really amazing is how in just one season True Blood has been able to build such a complex and interesting world, and yet is still accessible for new viewers who want to start watching now. So, if you have HBO but have never seen True Blood make sure you tune in this Sunday for the show’s Season 2 premiere. And if you like what you see you can always go out and purchase the True Blood Season 1 DVD box set that is in stores now.
