Leanna Lin’s Wonderland is kicking off 2014 with a group exhibition of monstrous proportions! Get ready for a roaring good time at the Supahcute Kaiju Show where you’ll find a collection of cute monsters and irresistible strange beasts. Curator of Cute Hana Kim (of Supahcute) has gathered some of her favorite artists to prove the theory that even monsters can be cute. Prepare to fall in love with some of the most adorable creatures you’ll ever see!

Game of Thrones Mystery Minis Blind Box Series by Funko

Is it just me or is Funko announcing awesome new Mystery Minis blind box series ever day now!?! Yesterday, Funko unveiled the epic Game of Thrones Mystery Minis Series. This new GoT mini figure blind box series has 24 unique 2.5” tall Game of Thrones characters, including some very hard to find rare chases and glow in the dark variants. Based on pictures of the series The Blot’s seen so far, this series will include Daenerys Targaryen, Khal Drogo, Daenerys’ dragons, Ned Stark, Robb Stark, Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister, King Joffrey, Jamie Lannister, White Walkers and even a couple of Dierwolves! What a seriously perfect line up.

Aerosol Warfare presents The Masked Lizard Rides Again: The Works of Mark Bode, Vaughn Bode & Posse

Next Saturday, January 18th, Aerosol Warfare will be hosting the coolest Houston art show The Blot’s seen since moving here back in 2005! Legendary artist Mark Bode will be making his first Texas appearance at street art gallery Aerosol Warfare for “The Masked Lizard Rides Again”! This art exhibition will feature original artwork and books from the collection of Mark Bode and the late Vaughn Bode, as well as a small group art show of Bode-inspired pieces by a very special invited artist posse comprised of AZUL, COLERSONER, DANDEE WARHOL, DEATH HEAD, DECKWGF, DUROCK, MIKE HERNANDEZ, GONZO247, GRAVE, JESTER, MERGE360, NATE NASH, SIEGO, SKEEZ181, SKEWONE, SLOKE, OSCAR and more.

The Blot is all kinds of excited to have Mark Bode in Houston and I can’t wait to meet him. Bode will be available for autographs and book signings at the Aerosol Warefare Gallery during the event’s opening night reception from 6-10pm on Saturday, January 18th. The evening will also feature MC Craig BBC Long on the mic, live painting of a car belonging to art patron, Chris Higham, BBOY breaking and entertainment led by Marlon of HAVIKORO and DJ Joe B of Rebel Crew on the turntables. Funko continues its epic line of The Walking Dead Mystery Minis vinyl figures with its second blind box series featuring characters from AMC’s hit television show The Walking Dead! While the first series of TWD Mystery Mini featured the Dixon brothers and a whole bunch of Walkers, Series 2 is all about the living! The Walking Dead Mystery Minis Blind Box Series 2 includes 2.5” vinyl figures of Rick Grimes, his son Carl, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, her 2 Pet Walkers, The Governor, his dead daughter Penny and two other very dead and disfigured Walkers. This series has 24 figures in all, including a number of bloody and glow in the dark chase variants.

First Look: Kidrobot x Samsung MiWe Vinyl Figure

Yesterday at CES, Samsung unveiled a new collaboration with Kidrobot! These two powerhouse companies will be working together to design unique, custom figurines inspired by the power of Samsung Galaxy mobile devices. As Samsung explained in a press release, “An increasingly important platform for self‐expression, mobile technology connects with users through mobile accessories, creative applications, or digital design within the device itself. Capturing Kidrobot’s inspired design on both the Galaxy accessories as well as in the devices themselves, creates multiple new touch points for artistic expression.”

MiWe, the name of KR’s newest DIY vinyl figure, is an acronym for Samsung’s marketing motto “Meaningful Innovation, Wow Experience.” As you can probably tell, MiWe is based on a Fox and fits perfectly with Kidrobot’s line of DIY MunnyWorld animal toys. In conjunction with the unveiling of this new collaboration, Kidrobot and Samsung brought in Scribe, Angry Woebots and Buff Monster to live paint 5 foot tall MiWe vinyl figures for each of the first three days of CES. Man do these customs look awesome!

Coming Soon: World War Gee Custom Series by Huck Gee

It’s time to get infected with the latest series of Huck Gee custom vinyl figures! The World War Gee Series will feature classic designs alongside never before seen characters. What’s great about this new series is that all releases will be made to order timed releases. This means that each figure will be made available for purchase for 24 hours, and so long as you get your order in during that timeframe you’re guaranteed a Huck Gee original!

The first outbreak starts next Friday, January 17th, and will continue throughout 2014 exclusively through the Huck Gee online store. But remember, with World War Gee it’s every man for them self! Because once a sale is over that design will never be seen again.

Where The Wild Things Are Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko

Funko launches its new line of Pop! Books vinyl figures with the iconic children’s book Where The Wild Things Are! This is one of The Blot’s personal favorites, and the world can always use more Max and Carol toys. I especially love the paint on these. Max’s metallic gold crown really pops, and they did a killer job giving Carol that muted, weathered look. Here’s hoping we see more Wild Things get the Pop! treatment soon.

Each Where The Wild Things Are Pop! Books vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box.
