Futurama “You Guys Realize You Live…” Screen Print by Dan Mumford x Dark Ink Art

Is it me or does Bender holding a dead Fry look like a tribute to the death of Supergirl in Crisis on Infinite Earths #7. Futurama Mini Figure Blind Box Series 2 by Kidrobot

Has it really been four and a half years since Kidrobot released Futurama Mini Figure Series 1? I guess collectors really have been waiting forever for a follow up to Kidrobot’s popular Futurama Blind Box Series. Thankfully fans wishes will finally be coming true on February 20th when KR drops Futurama Mini Figure Series 2!

Next week Kidrobot heads back to the 31st century with Futurama Series 2. Now Futurama viewers can relive their favorite scenes with 12 fan favorite characters from the Matt Groening show reimagined as cute 3” vinyl figures. Planet Express makes its delivery of these new blind box figures next Thursday, February 20th, when Futurama Series 2 will go on sale at Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com, and select retailers worldwide for $9.99 per blind box.

“30 Days of Jerk” Pop Culture Painting Series by Jerkface

New York artist Jerkface recently completed his epic “30 Days of Jerk” painting series. For 30 straight days throughout December and January Jerkface painted a different pop culture inspired painting. While the idea of doing a 30 day run of artwork is not original, Jerkface’s goal was to bring a fun and creative take on some legendary cartoon and comic strip characters. And boy did he! Every day The Blot made sure to visit Jerkface’s Instagram account to find out which character he used.

What’s great about “30 Days of Jerk” is how Jerkface integrated his signature Jerks into paintings with beloved characters like Oscar the Grouch, Richie Rich, Spongebob Squarepants, Futurama’s Bender, Garfield and Family Guy’s Stewie. Jerkface serious cherry picked some of the greatest characters from television cartoons, comic strips, comic books and Sesame Street. Each painting carries the same theme, and yet is so different. I’m especially blown away by Jerkface’s line work! I can’t believe how tight each painting is considering they’re painted with a brush.

Each “30 Days of Jerk” release is a 12”x12” acrylic on 1.5” canvas painting, and sold for just $300 through Jerkface’s online store. While all 30 are sold out, Jerkface is currently revisiting his most popular designs and releasing them as ultra limited edition prints! So far Jerkface has released 6 prints, each with super small run sizes of 6 or 3 pieces. These prints measure 13”x13” (including a 1” boarder), come signed and numbered, and retail for $100. The doctor is in the house! At San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Kidrobot debuted its newest collaboration with Futurama, the Zoidberg 6" vinyl figure! The SDCC 2013 Exclusive colorway is this Blue Zoidberg (thanks to Spanky Stokes for posting the picture above on his Instagram account).

The Standard Edition Zoidberg is the red colorway seen above.  Both versions include a stethoscope accessory for listening to your intestines! SDCC 13 Exclusive “Futurama” Screen Print by Dave Perillo

Dave Perillo is teaming up with Acme Archives for a second time to release this Futurama screen print featuring almost the funny animated television show’s entire cast. Not only that, but there’s a pretty cool “Alienese Variant”! Both San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Exclusive “Futurama” screen prints by Dave Perill are 12”x36” 6 color screen prints sold exclusively at the Acme Archives SDCC booth #5629 for $50. The Standard Edition is limited to just 195 pieces, while the Alienese Variant is limited to just 99 pieces. Any remaining prints will be sold at Acme’s online store after Comic-Con.

First Look: Kidrobot SDCC 2013 Exclusives Teaser Images!

Last week Kidrobot posted a teaser image of their San Diego Comic-Con 2013 exclusives! They look pretty awesome, however I can’t tell how many of these are true “exclusives” rather than wide releases making their debut at SDCC. More than likely many of these figures will be released in Comic-Con Exclusive colorways and the figures will see a wider release later in a second colorway.

For sure Kidrobot will be releasing a 6” Zombie Bart The Simpsons vinyl figure, a 6” Zoiberg Futurama vinyl figure, a 7” Wolverine Marvel Comics Labbit, a 7” Venom Marvel Comics Labbit and two other figures (an 8” Dunny and another 10” Labbit). The pictures seen here are of the wide release colorways of these figures, so expect some possible variations of these figures released at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. More details as they become available!!!

Nibbler Futurama Vinyl Figure by Kidrobot

With his adorable vinyl exterior, Nibbler masquerades as the cute unintelligent pet of Leela, captain of the Planet Express ship in Matt Groening’s popular animated television series, Futurama. Standing 6 inches tall and dressed in a dashing cape and smelly diaper, you’d never suspect Nibbler is really an undercover, highly intelligent being on a mission to protect the planet Earth from evil Brainspawn! 

Paired with a tray of kitty litter to catch his powerful poo (Nibblonian excrement consists of super-dense dark matter, suitable for use as starship fuel), Nibbler is coming to save our small planet on Thursday, September 20th. This has got to be seriously one the craziest accessories Kidrobot has ever produced! It almost makes The Blot want to buy this figure.
