Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein Puzzle Kickstarter by Nakatomi Launches Today!

Nakatomi’s newest officially licensed Bernie Wrightson project are these epic puzzles of this iconic artist’s Frankenstein artwork, which have launched exclusively today on Kickstarter (seen here). This project is to produce the first set in what Nakatomi is planning to be an ongoing Bernie Wrightson Puzzle Series, with new releases multiple times a year.

Each of these 1,000 piece Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein puzzles will be printed from high-resolution scans onto super-thick deluxe puzzle board stock, with a gloss coating so your puzzle will last for years through many builds. Each puzzle comes in a custom resealable collector’s box with a magnetic closure.

The Deadly Spawn Vinyl Figure Kickstarter Campaign by Justin Ishmael‪ x James Groman‬

Earlier this week Justin Ishmael launched a Kickstarter campaign to produced his newest officially licensed vinyl figure, The Deadly Spawn! Based on the classic low budget 1983 monster movie of the same name, The Deadly Spawn is being produced under license from producer Ted Bohus and was sculpted by toy legend James Groman (Madballs, My Pet Monster, Barnyard Commandos). What’s really cool about this release is there’s actually two vinyl figures being made – the massive 9” tall Deadly Spawn and a matching 7” long Larvae Deadly Spawn.

The Deadly Spawn Kickstarter is live for the next 30 days, but don't wait! “Early Bird” backers will have the opportunity to acquire Mega Sets at drastically reduced prices, but supplies will be limited. There will also be extremely limited 1-off custom painted version opportunities from both James Groman and Justin Ishmael.

The Deadly Spawn Larvae vinyl figure is 7” long and 2.5” tall, and is available as a Blank Edition ($35) or a Painted Edition ($50). The full size The Deadly Spawn vinyl figure is a whopping 9” tall x 11” deep and 7.5” wide. It also features three articulated heads, two of which are interchangeable, and two articulated arms. Trash Bag Bunch XL Vinyl Figure Kickstarter Campaign by Last Resort Toys

For the past few weeks Last Resorts Toys has been running a really exciting campaign on Kickstarter to get these really awesome Trash Bag Bunch XL vinyl figures produced based on the original Trash Bag Bunch mini figures of the early ‘90s. There’s only a few days left to back this KS campaign and it’s almost fully funded, so if you’re considering adding these Trash Bag Bunch XL figures to your collection the time to act is now!

These Trash Bag Bunch XL vinyl figures are official licensed updates of the original figures from 1991, but four times the size and with heaps more details! Trash Bag Bunch XL are four times the size of the original mini figures with added details and articulation. Each figure has been designed, sculpted and prototyped by hand. As part of this campaign, Last Resort Toys are supersizing two Trash Bag Bunch figures: Liceplant and Muckoid.

Liceplant is 9” tall and 7.5” wide, while Muckoid is 7.5” tall and nearly as deep and wide. The larger scale has allowed for increased detail, more intricate paint schemes, and the addition of articulation. Liceplant has 2 points of articulation at the arms, and Muckoid has 6 points of articulation – both arms, and a swivel on all four eyes. Due to the extra parts and more complicated design, Muckoid's production costs are higher, as reflected in the price.

Both figures are available for pre-order on Kickstarter now here in multiple colorways, including a KS exclusive colorway. The Kickstarter exclusive colorway is a red and blue Liceplant and an orange and blue Muckoid. These paint schemes are based on the pre-production photos of the second series of Trash Bag Bunch, many of which were never produced.

In case you’re not familiar with this retro toy line, the Trash Bag Bunch was a set of mini figures released by Galoob in 1991. It had a great play gimmick where the toys were packed in little trash bags and you didn't know what toy you got until you dropped the bag into water where it would dissolve; frothing and foaming to reveal your new toy!
