DC Comics x Ecko Unltd Batman T-Shirt Collection

DC Comics announced earlier this week it has teamed up with street wear designer Marc Ecko to launch a new line of limited edition Batman T-Shirts though Marc’s Ecko Unltd brand. Featuring DC Comics’ iconic Batman imagery, the t-shirt line incorporates Ecko’s signature design techniques including gel printing, carbon coating and 3D texturing. I really tried to get into Ecko’s Star Wars clothing line a few years ago but honestly, his “signature design techniques” really don’t do it for me. Sadly the same can be true for Ecko’s new Batman line. Great concept, but clearly The Blot’s not his target demographic.

The DC Comics x Ecko Unltd Batman T-Shirt Collection features designs that combine the breadth of the Batman brand with Ecko’s signature aesthetic and trendy design in t-shirt wear with bold images and bright colors. I’m sure this line will prove popular, but to me there are really only a few really cool designs in the collection. I love the retro “Wham” design featuring the old school blue and grey Batman, as well as the “City Run” design that features the outline of Gotham City in Batman’s portrait.

Marc Ecko x Timex Star Wars Watches

Marc Ecko will be expanding upon his line of Star Wars themed clothing to produce a line of Star Wars themed watches in conjunction with Timex. Evidently these photos have been floating around the internet since the summer, but somehow The Blot just found out about them!


The Marc Ecko x Timex Star Wars watch collection will include a mixture of metals, rubbers and nylons, and feature Timex’ trademark "indiglo" illuminating technology. The Marc Ecko Star Wars watches will also play classic Star Wars songs and sound effects, and are rumored to feature some as of yet unannounced “technologies.”


So far we’ve only see the Marc Ecko Star Wars Boba Fett watch and the Marc Ecko Star Wars Stormtrooper watch, but Mr. Ecko alluded on his blog to the release of other Star Wars character inspired watches featuring R2-D2 and Darth Vader. Can’t wait to check all these out! We should know more soon as the Marc Ecko x Timex Star Wars watch collection is due in stores sometime during the 2009 holiday season.

New Star Wars Clothing Line By Marc Ecko

This week Marc Ecko released his all new Star Wars Collection clothing line, which features two very cool, limited edition hoodies. The Blot is a huge Star Wars fan and these character hoodies are sick, especially the Boba Fett one (which I think I’m going to have to purchase immediately).



I am never quite sure what to expect when it’s announced that a popular property like Star Wars is teaming up with a designer clothing company, but Ecko really hit it out of the park with his Star Wars Collection. Many of the t-shirts in this line are very stylish and I really love the Star Wars Exploding Storm Trooper t-shirt. My only question is why so much of the clothing line is centered around the Empire’s generic Stormtroopers?
