I wasn’t at NYCC so I can’t say for sure, but I would imagine if anyone got a close enough look they would be able to tell for certain if the figure in question is a production piece or a custom. My guess is the pink haired Mighty Mugg in the photo above is a customized White Blank Mighty Mugg, especially since it’s standing next to a packaged White Blank Mighty Mugg. But you just never know!

Potential New Mighty Muggs Line for 2009
Does anyone recognize the character at the top of the picture below!?! This picture, courtesy of Action-Figure.com, is from New York Comic Con 2009 and may be the first figure in a new line of Mighty Muggs. Then again, it could just be a custom to show what fans/artists can do with Hasbro’s new line of Blank Mighty Muggs.

NYCC Sneak Peek - Unmasked Spider-Man and Green Goblin Marvel Mighty Muggs Coming Soon
At New York Comic Con 2009 this weekend Hasbro gave us a look at four all new Marvel Legends Mighty Muggs, two of which are an Unmasked Spider-Man Mighty Mugg with a removable cloth mask and a Green Goblin Mighty Mugg. While this is already our fourth Spider-Man Mighty Mugg (enough already!), it is surprisingly the first ever Mighty Mugg of Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis the Green Goblin.

I’m not a huge fan of Spidey, but I have to say both figures come with very cool accessories. Creating a removable cloth Spider-Man mask, which can be removed to reveal Peter Parker’s face, was a really great idea! And, the Green Goblin looks awesome with his signature glider and pumpkin bomb. Both his glider and pumpkin bomb will be great for customizing.

No price or release date has been announced yet, but I am guessing these two figures will be part of the upcoming Target Exclusive Marvel Mighty Muggs Wave that will also feature the upcoming Iceman and Magneto Mighty Muggs. Check back with The Blot Says… in the coming weeks for more info on these new vinyl figures.

NYCC Sneak Peek - Iceman and Magneto Marvel Mighty Muggs Coming Soon
This weekend at New York Comic Con 2009 Hasbro unveiled four all new Marvel Legends Mighty Muggs which should be hitting store shelves relatively soon. Two of these all new Mighty Muggs come from the mutant corner of the Marvel Universe, Iceman, a founding member of the X-Men, and the villainous master of magnetism Magneto.

The Iceman Mighty Mugg does a great job capturing Bobby Drake’s mischievous side, and I especially love his snowball accessory. It will be a great new weapon for customizers to mess around with.

No real details concerning this upcoming Mighty Muggs release have hit the web yet, but from the pictures seen here we do know these figures will be part of a Target Exclusive Marvel Mighty Muggs Wave. Check back with The Blot Says… in the coming weeks for more information on these new releases.

The Blot’s never collected any of Veggiesomething’s House of Liu vinyl figures before, but I thought this NYCC Exclusive Baby Monk Yoto vinyl figure with its NBA inspired apparel was too awesome to ignore. Produced in conjunction with Crazy Label and myplasticheart, Baby Monk Yoto is the first 3 inch Baby Monk every created and is inspired by the Lunar New Year and one of the NBA's greatest players ever, Michael Jeffrey Jordan. What’s even cooler about this golden Baby Monk is that it’s Chicago Bulls inspired warm up suit was designed by kaNO!

ESC Toy's 3 New York Comic Con Exclusive Releases by Erick Scarecrow
New York Comic Con 2009 is upon us! We’re just under two weeks away from the Big Apple’s signature event, and the NYCC exclusives The Blot’s seen so far look amazing. This is the second year in a row that ESC Toy’s Erick Scarecrow has launched a brand new figure at NYCC and I think the New York based artist has really outdone himself. His new 10.5 inch Medusa vinyl figure is really quite stunning, and its black and red “Black Mamba” colorway is a great complement to his wicked design. Just look at her shoes! I can’t wait to see what colorway he’s got lined up for his next Medusa release.

But that’s not all, Scarecrow will also be releasing two new colorways of previously released figures exclusive for NYCC 2009. First up is the 3” Medusa Stone Shiitake resin figure. ESC is only making 50 of these hand painted resin figures, so if you are planning on getting a Medusa make sure you get there early so you can also purchase the matching Medusa Stone Shiitake. Just look at the picture below to see how great they go together. Plus, the Medusa Stone Shiitake figure is only $14.99! At that price Scarecrow is basically giving it away, right? That is a ridiculously low price for a hand painted figure.

And last but not least is the third colorway of ESC’s Muraida vinyl figure. The NYCC exclusive Magma colorway is a great complement to Muraida’s crazy look. All of his murky details really shine in this colorway’s bright yellow, orange and red hues. I got to finally see one of the previously released Muraida colorways last week and the figure is even cooler in person than it is in pictures.

All three Erick Scarecrow New York Comic Con exclusive releases can be purchased at the ESC Toy booth #864. The Black Mamba Medusa figure is limited to just 500 pieces and will be sold for $54.99. The Medusa Stone Shiitake is limited to just 50 pieces and will be sold for $14.99, while the Magma Muraida is limited to just 200 pieces and will for $49.99.
For those of you lucky enough to attend NYCC 2009 you will have the opportunity to meet Erick Scarecrow and have him sign your ESC Toy figures at the ESC Toy booth #864 on Friday, February 6th from 12-4, on Saturday, February 7th from 10-4 and Sunday, February 8th from 10-4.
