Superman: The Animated Series Screen Prints by Phantom City Creative x Mondo

Today, Mondo will be releasing its first two posters for Superman: The Animated Series! The first screen print is Phantom City Creative’s brilliant gatefold art from Mondo’s 2015 vinyl release featuring the Man of Steel overlooking the eden of Metropolis, while the variant focuses on failed Superman clone, Bizarro, and his Bizarro World. As Mondo explained, “Phantom City Creative’s astonishing art shows the Man of Tomorrow watching over his home and the people he loves – and their intricate linework celebrates the “Ocean Liner Deco” design for Metropolis that producer Bruce Timm and his team of animators created as a counterpoint to Gotham City.”

Each Superman: The Animated Series hand numbered screen print by Phantom City Creative measures 36”x18”. The Superman Regular Edition is limited to 225 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Bizarro Variant is limited to 125 pieces and will retail for $75. NYCC 2018 Exclusive Superman: The Animated Adventures Screen Print by Tom Whalen x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery has announced its third wave of New York Comic Con 2018 exclusive prints, including this killer Superman: The Animated Adventures Screen Print by Tom Whalen that is just jam packed with the Man of Steel’s villains from the popular animated television series.

Superman: The Animated Adventures by Tom Whalen is a 12”x36” hand numbered DC Comics screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 250 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Metallic Variant is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for $55. Collectors can purchase these Superman prints at the Bottleneck Gallery NYCC booth #2160.

The New Batman Adventures & Superman: The Animated Series Screen Prints by Scott Derby x Bottleneck Gallery

While The Blot was out traveling for work last week, Bottleneck Gallery released two fantastic DC Comics animated screen prints by Scott Derby! The two posters are based on the classic ‘90s television cartoons The New Batman Adventures and Superman: The Animated Series. These are Derby’s first print releases with BNG and he absolutely killed it. Bottleneck Gallery explained that “Scott’s prints perfectly capture the aesthetics of both shows, and feature so many classic heroes and villains!” The Blot is especially impressed how he was able to include all these characters from these two iconic shows without making the posters feel crowded.

After debuting at MondoCon 2015, Mondo is giving a proper release to its Bizarro Edition Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single Record featuring the cover artwork of Phantom City Creative and the musical stylings of Shirley Walker! This special variant of Mondo’s Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single is pressed on purple vinyl with a backwards "S" logo on the B-Side in honor of the classic Superman baddies. But that's not all! This release has a neat little trick that requires you to place the needle on the inner-most groove of the vinyl, as the record plays from the inside out! How amazing is that!?!

The Bizarro Edition Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single Record by Shirley Walker x Phantom City Creative x Mondo is limited to just 1,000 copies and will go on sale today, Wednesday, October 14th, at the Mondo online store for just $25. SDCC 15 Exclusive Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single Record by Shirley Walker x Phantom City Creative x Mondo

As a follow up to last year’s huge popular Batman: The Animated Series Single Records, Mondo will be releasing this epic San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single Record featuring the vinyl record cut in the shape of the Man of Steel’s iconic “S” emblem in classic red vinyl or Kryptonite green vinyl. While the A-Side features four songs, the B-Side (seen above) has been screen printed with Superman’s shield logo. The single’s cover artwork was designed by Phantom City Creative, who also designed the cover for Mondo’s Batman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single. Collectors can purchase this soundtrack single at the Mondo SDCC booth #835.

Justin Erickson (of Phantom City Creative) explained, “I wanted to make this a companion piece to my packaging design for Batman: The Animated Series. While Batman is darker and more serious, Superman needed to be bright, colorful and energetic to reflect the tonal differences between the two.” This Comic-Con exclusive features the theme music of the inimitable Shirley Walker, whose leadership on this and Batman: The Animated Series set the standard for the music of the DC Comics Animated Universe for decades to come.
