Troy Stith’s popular sea monster Yuudoku is back! For Yuudoku’s first hand painted painted release Troy created a beautiful rainbow-like color scheme using Monster Kolor paints that really shows off the figure’s crazy details. I swear there’s even more barnacles and texture on this painted Yuudoku than there was in the figure’s original unpainted blue release. The Painted Yuudoku (produced by Max Toy Co) features blue soft Japanese vinyl Yuudoku, stands 3.5” tall, and features 3 points of articulation (at the waist and tentacles). Each figure also includes a randomly inserted eye. Collectors can pick up this cute little toxic monster today at the Max Toy Co online store for just $30.

Troy Stith x Max Toy Co's New Figure Yuudoku! On Sale Tomorrow!
The Blot’s excited to announce that Yuudoku, Troy Stith’s first original production figure, will be released this Friday, July 27th at the Max Toy Company online store! After a year of hard work by Troy and Max Toy Co, Yuudoku is finally ready for his world debut. The first colorway of this toxic monster will be a striking unpainted blue, and will retail for just $20 each. Yuudoku stands 3.5” tall, features 3 points of articulation (at the waist and tentacles), and each figure sports a randomly inserted eye. The Blot’s especially looking forward to seeing this bad boy painted! And keep an eye on Troy’s blog because there will definitely be some one-offs and a couple of small Yuudoku runs released by him soon.
Yuudoku’s Story: Born off the Coast of Kikorman Island, Yuudoku lived a happy life among the reefs in the crystal blue waters. He enjoyed being surrounded by his friends and providing housing for them and their kin. All of that changed when greedy tankers began dumping toxic waste into the pristine waters. While no one knew these dastardly deeds were being committed, the results began to change and warp the once pure waters of Kikorman Bay. Left with the choice of fleeing to cleaner waters or death, Yuudoku’s friends began to disappear. The tankers eventually moved on to spread their filth elsewhere, but Yuudoku’s friends still fled. It wasn’t the boats that they were afraid of anymore, it was him. Yuudoku had mutated into a hulking tentacled beast. His body that was once a home had become a poisonous wasteland. Plumes of toxins spewed from his back, making it impossible for his friends to be close to him without endangering their lives. He found himself alone; radiating with angry despair. Yuudoku vowed revenge against those who brought this dismal fate upon him.

Bio-Buildman Glyos Figure by Troy Stith
The Blot just found out about Troy Stith’s newest creation, the Bio-Buildman Glyos figure! These awesome figures are currently available for pre-order through Troy’s online store from now until January 1st, 2012. You can order a complete blank DIY resin Bio-Buildman, as well as all of the bits that make it up individually. This way, if you only want certain parts to make your own Glyos custom figure, you can buy them separately. This will be a limited open-run, meaning Troy will only be casting enough to fill pre-orders plus a few more him to customize.
To be honest, I have never been all that into Onell Design’s Glyos line. But as more and more of my favorite artists get involved with creating their own Glyos compatible designs, I’m starting to see the light. I really love what Troy Stith is doing here (and the folks at Argonaut Resins with their Tuttz Glyos figures) and will definitely need to check out some of these guys in person! The complete Bio-Buildman Glyos resin figure is $25, while the individual body parts range in price from $2-$4 a piece. Head over to Stith’s Gorilla Mouth online store to pre-order one today!
And for those of you wondering who the Bio-Buildmen are, here iss their official back story: Hailing from the murky marshes of Sesar IV, the Bio-Buildman are an organically reptilian race of hunters. Upon hatching, they're left to tend to themselves. While young, the Bio-Buildman live on instinct that turns to cunning shrewdness as they age. Each Bio-Buildman's carapace armor and weaponry grows specifically to the survival needs of each individual. The planet of Sesar IV is full of ever-changing alliances of Bio-Buildman. But one thing remains clear to all who've tried to lay their claim to Sesar IV, the Bio-Buildman will unite and crush any foe that encroaches on their territory.

DCon Exclusive Geode Series Custom MunnyWorld Figures by Troy Stith
Check out these amazing custom MunnyWorld vinyl figures by Ohio artists Troy Stith. Are these awesome or what!?! Made exclusively for Designer Con 2011, Troy has turned four different MunnyWorld characters (Munny, Rooz, Kracka and Foomi) into four different colored geodes. I love the rock texture Troy added to these normally smooth DIY vinyl platforms, and the geode insides look so lifelike it’s nuts.
The Geode Series by Troy Stith will be available this weekend at the ToyPinionated DCon booth #412 this Saturday for $65 each. Pick one or all four up while you’re there!

Kaiju for Japan Fundraiser Goes Live Today!
There are some really big things going on in the world of designer toys today! If you live in the New York area, you can hit up Toy Street at 268 Mulberry Street, but the event I’ve really been looking forward to is the Kaiju for Japan fundraiser organized by Troy Stith. Some of the biggest names in the toy game have donated rare toys, one offs and customs to be sold later today, with all proceeds from the Kaiju for Japan sale donated to the Red Cross Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund.
Here are the details on the Kaiju for Japan Sale: the sale goes live today, Friday, April 22nd, at 4:00pm EST. Many of the items are still unknown, but from what I’ve seen there is some crazy good stuff for sale. The sale will be taking place at the Gorilla Mouth online store, which won’t go live until 4pm, so warm up your F5 keys and start refreshing now! How many opportunities do you get to buy toys all in the name of raising funds for a good cause?

Kaiju for Japan Earthquake Relief Fundraiser
If you follow The Blot on Twitter then you’re probably already aware of Kaiju for Japan, an awesome fundraiser organized by artist extraordinaire Troy Stith to help raise money for Japan after the horrible devastation of last week. If you’re like me, you can’t get the blight of the Japanese people out of your mind and want to know what you can do to help! Well, here’s an opportunity for the entire toy community to come together and help raise funds, which will be donated to the Red Cross.
As Troy put it, “I also know that some of you have probably already donated to the Red Cross Earthquake/Tsunami relief fund, but I thought we toy makers could help out as well. Seeing that many of our favorite characters and toys come from and or have been inspired by Japanese influences.” Troy’s looking to get as many customs as possible from creators from around the world to sell off for a large donation to the relief fund. If you’re interested in donating, you can email Troy at troystith@hotmail.com. The deadline for contributions is Thursday, April 14th.
If you’re not an artist, just a collector like me, don’t worry! We can play our part too. After all of the custom figures are collected (almost 60 artists have already pledged custom figures), the sale will go live (most likely on Friday, April 22nd). That’s when we can all purchase/bid on these awesome custom figures and help raise money for our fellow toy lovers in Japan. More info to come as we get closer to the on sale date of Kaiju for Japan.
