Me and Mr. Death Resin Figure Set by RX

Me and Mr. Death Resin Figures by RX

Check out these awesome new resin figures RX and Mr. Death! They were designed by Italian designer RX and are based on Gionta’s webcomic RX: Real Life Stories. If you’re not familiar with Gionta’s characters, RX is a pretentious loser still searching for himself after graduating from school. Mr. Death is of course the Grim Reaper who has been trying, unsuccessfully, to get at RX for years. Oh yeah, and he loves beer!

Me and Mr. Death 2 Figure Set and Packaging by RX

Each 3” figure is 100% handmade and comes painted using mixed techniques, including airbrushing & brush painting. Me and Mr. Death has a limited edition run size of just 25 sets, includes a Scythe, TV remote and a beer can, and comes packaged in a full color window box. Even cooler still, each set is packaged with a full diorama. This two figure set is now available via RX’s eBay store.

Barneyism of the Week - Lying

“Have you ever successfully gotten a woman in bed by lying to her?” - Nora

Have I ever…if I’m being totally honest, yes.

“More than once?” - Nora

More than once?
Wow, that’s…I guess if we’re splitting hairs.
Then technically…
There was a plurality to the times I’ve lied to women for sex having purposes.

“What were they?” - Nora

Nines and tens mostly.
There was a four once. She was a slump buster.
But Norah, after that I had a run you would not believe!

Man, honesty feels good!

Icing a la Creme Snapback by Nerdy Fresh

Icing a la Creme Snapback Hat by Nerdy Fresh

It’s Snapback Day at TheBlotSays.com, where throughout the day I’ll be featuring some of my favorite hats currently available via the world wide web. Up first is the Icing a la Creme snapback by Dallas, Texas’ own Nerdy Fresh! This is the design that first turned me on to Nerdy Fresh back in the summer of 2010, and my Icing a la Creme t-shirt is still one of my favorites. At the time, I had no idea this was one of the brand’s first designs and it sold out in a matter of days.

And now Nerdy Fresh is brining the ice back with these sweet snapbacks! The Icing a la Creme Snapback comes in two colorways (Black/Blue and Black/Purple), features a gray under visor and a plastic snapback that matches the colorway’s visor. Each Icing a la Creme hat is currently on sale for $29.99 each and can be purchased at the Nerdy Fresh online store.

Pearl Jam Twenty Documentary by Cameron Crowe World Premiere

Pearl Jam Twenty Official Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster
Click on the photo above for a more detailed look
Today is a big day for The Blot as it marks the world premiere of the new Pearl Jam documentary PJ20 directed by Cameron Crowe, which highlights the Seattle band’s twenty year career. Cities all around the globe are hosting one night only screenings of PJ20, to see if there is a theater near you (and if tickets are still available) click here. As you all probably know, The Blot is a lifelong diehard Pearl Jam fan, so of course I bought tickets for Houston’s screening of the film as soon as they went on sale. It’s hard to believe the band has already been around for twenty years! I still remember where I was when I heard the band’s debut album Ten for the very first time. I was 12 years old and at summer camp, and my life would never be the same again…

Pearl Jam Twenty Hardcover Book

If you’re not familiar with Pearl Jam Twenty, it chronicles the years leading up to the band’s formation, the chaos that ensued soon after their rise to mega-stardom, their step back from center state, and the creation of a trusted circle that would surround them…giving way to a work culture that would sustain them for two decades. Told in big themes and bold colors with blistering sound, the film is carved from over 1,200 hours of rarely seen and never before seen footage spanning the band’s career. Pearl Jam Twenty is the definitive portrait of Pearl Jam: part concert film, part intimate insider-hang, part testimonial to the power of music and uncompromising artists.

To coincide with the documentary, Pearl Jam has also released a Pearl Jam Twenty hardcover book ($22) that chronicles the band’s past two decades with a forward by Crowe, an official Pearl Jam Twenty Soundtrack ($16), which includes 2 cds and 29 tracks of rare and unreleased recordings, and the official Pearl Jam Twenty DVD for $14.

The Walking Dead Season 2 One Sheet Television Poster

The Walking Dead Season 2 One Sheet Television Poster

Has it really already been a year since The Walking Dead premiered on AMC!?! Man has time flown by…it seems just like yesterday the little comic book adaptation that could was debuting on television. It was a super short Season 1, but it was excellent (for the most part). Since then the network has fired just about everyone who works behind the scenes on the show and announced it will be splitting Season 2 into two so as minimize the hiatus between seasons. This seems like a horrible idea since Season 2 will also be pretty short, but what can you do? AMC seems determined to ruin all of its popular, critically acclaimed original programming until it’s left with nothing. Someone over there needs to get fired!

The Walking Dead Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, October 16th, at 9/8c on AMC. The Season 2 one sheet television poster recreates the eerie image of Season 1’s poster featuring Rick Grimes traveling through a deserted landscape. I don’t want to spoil Season 2 for anyone, but for those of us who have read the comic book series you know the poster does a great job setting the scene for Season 2’s main storyline. I for one am really looking forward to the start of the new TWD season!

The Simpsons Poster by Olly Moss

The Simpsons Poster by Olly Moss

Yesterday on Twitter Olly Moss unveiled this killer Simpsons poster he made featuring Homer. The poster is for a charity screening of classic The Simpsons episodes at The Underground Picturehouse at the Water Poet in Shoreditch on October 6th curated by Ultra Culture and Moss. They’ll be showing a few of their favorite episodes (pre-Season 9 naturally), holding contests and all kinds of other fun stuff all for around $10 with all proceeds going to the Red Cross! No word yet if this awesome The Simpsons screen print will be sold to the public, but it’s probably worth trying to attend just in case! Sadly England is a little far for The Blot to travel for an event like this, but I’m dying to know if there will be prints available nevertheless.
