NBA Pop! Sports Series 1 Vinyl Figures by Funko

The NBA Playoffs are really heating up and now’s your chance to immortalize the 2012 season with these cute, chunky vinyl figures of your favorite basketball player! Toxic GID Edition Resin Mini Mad'l by MAD

Last week, MAD released the fifth colorway of his extremely popular line of handmade 3” resin Mini Mad’ls and this one had a special twist…it glows in the dark! The Toxic Edition Mini Mad’l looks seriously insane in the light or the dark. 20 Toxic Glow in the Dark Edition Mini Mad’l 3” resin figures were created for this release sold exclusively at MAD’s online store for $50 each. Each figure comes packaged in a custom gift box, which includes a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity. Sadly, these sold out instantly upon release. Thank god The Blot got one when I did!

Good and Evil Mork AP Sets by MAD

MAD received his APs of the WonderCon Exclusive Morksta Mork vinyl figure (aka the Good Mork) and the Art Attack Toys Exclusive Dr. Morkenstein Mork vinyl figure (aka the Evil Mork). These are the two rarest of the Mork colorways, and MAD came up with something nice for these AP sets.

Each Good and Evil Mork AP comes bundled with a matching 12”x12” giclee print. There are only 3 of each colorway AP set available, and each comes signed and numbered by MAD. The Legend of Hotaru and the Death's Rock Octopus Tree Print by Huck Gee

It’s been a really long time since Huck Gee released a new art print, but “The Legend of Hotaru and the Death's Rock Octopus Tree” was definitely worth the wait! There was a time Huck released prints like this one on a regular basis, and The Blot's glad to see him return to the medium. As Huck explained on his blog, “I really enjoy the process and expanding on the history and background of my character designs.”

“The Legend of Hotaru and the Death's Rock Octopus Tree” is a 13”x22” signed, numbered and gold embossed print on fine art watercolor paper (225gs), and has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces. Since it has been so long since Huck released a new print, he put “The Legend of Hotaru and the Death's Rock Octopus Tree” for sale on new online store for just $40! Sadly for most of us, these sold out almost immediately upon release.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope DVD & Heroclix Combo Pack

HeroClix has teamed up with Morgan Spurlock to release one of the coolest San Diego Comic-Con tie-ins of all time! To commemorate the release of Spurlock’s documentary Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope on DVD, HeroClix is producing a matching four figure Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope DVD and HeroClix combo pack. The four HeroClix figures included in this exclusive set represent key figures who helped make this movie possible: Stan “The Man” Lee, Morgan Spurlock, Joss Whedon, and Ain't It Cool News founder Harry Knowles! It’s basically a geek’s wet dream.

For those of you unfamiliar with Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, it is a documentary by Morgan Spurlock that explores the amazing cultural phenomenon that is San Diego Comic-Con by following the lives of five attendees as they descend upon the ultimate geek mecca of SDCC 2010. The Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope DVD and HeroClix Combo Pack will be available this July for a limited North American release, and will include a DVD of the film as well as the four HeroClix figures seen here, which you will not be able to buy anywhere else. Grapes Bear 5" Mini Qee by Street Grapes

Toy2R unveiled its newest Mini Qee this week, and it really got The Blot’s attention. While I’m not usually into Qees, I found myself doing a double take after seeing the Grapes Bear by Street Grapes. I was not only interested in seeing more of the design, but finding out more about the artist involved. It turns out Street Grapes is an up and coming street artist and illustrator who was born and raised in Russia, but is now living in the United States.

Street Grapes combines hand drawn and graphic art together to make sophisticated and distinctive designs, and his art can now be seen in many parts of the US, from NYC to LA, as well as in other parts of the world. According to Toy2R, Street Grapes is influenced by many art forms ranging from classical Russian art and Medieval illustrations, to old-school graffiti. He enjoys the art of many people from all over the world, contemporary and classical.

The Grapes Bear is a funny little character who loves to travel around the world. Maybe you'll see him around next time you're in the streets. The Grapes Bear is scheduled to go on sale in mid-June as one of Toy2R's many summer releases and will retail for $28 each.

Cactus Rockers Vinyl Figures by Tokidoki

Tokidoki revealed the latest star in its Cactus Friends family: Cactus Rocker! Groupies everywhere will undoubtedly flock to acquire the latest character in the Cactus Friends collection. Beginning in June, Cactus Rocker Red will be available nationwide, however Cactus Rocker Blue will only be available at Tokidoki retail stores, Tokidoki.it, and Tokidoki special events (certain to cause mayhem amongst tokidoki fans).

Both Tokidoki Cactus Rockers stand 6” tall, with a retail price of $24.95 for Cactus Rocker Red, and $39.95 for the Tokidoki Exclusive Cactus Rocker Blue.
