Christmas Edition Hugo Shortpants & Martin Longbottom Resin Figures by UME Toys

UME Toys has two Christmas inspired releases dropping this Wednesday, December 5th, in the UME Toys online store! Hugo Shortpants and Martin Longbottom are ready to come and visit with you over the festive season. Martin Christmas Bottom and Hugo Christmas Pants are dressed in their finest to help you celebrate Xmas. Both figures are custom one offs sculpted over the original Martin and Hugo resin figures, so there will never be another quite like them. Martin stands about 5” tall and sports a cute little Santa hat, while Hugo stands over 4” tall.

Star Wars x The Walking Dead “The Ewoking Dead” Bootleg Figure by Killer Bootlegs

On Sunday Killer Bootlegs released an all new resin figure, The Ewoking Dead! The figure is actually based on an illustration of the same name by Jonathan Fallon. The Blot loves the Star Wars x The Walking Dead mash-up, and I believe this Killer Bootleg’s first flocked release. The figure is based on a Teebo the Ewok Star Wars action figure from Kenner’s 1983 Return of The Jedi line.

Then Killer Bootlegs added some gruesome zombie features onto poor Teebo, cast him in resin and flocked him in three different colorways. What’s great about this The Ewoking Dead figure is features articulation in its arms so you can give it that true zombielook! The Ewoking Dead has a limited edition run size of 25 pieces, each including a real cloth cowl, and can be purchased at the Killer Bootlegs online store for $40.

OsirisOrion has got a pretty exciting new release that dropped this week. He’s created two new resin Dunnys, Molten Lava and Sewer Sludge! New Man of Steel Teaser Movie Poster

When The Blot first heard Warner Bros. released a new Man of Steel teaser poster yesterday I got really excited…but then I saw it. Superman in handcuffs being led away by the police just doesn’t get me excited for the film like a teaser one sheet movie poster should. Obviously Superman’s letting them “capture” him because we all know he could easily break those cuffs and fly away. I guess they’re trying to get us to want to know more, but it’s not working.  I'm pretty sure the marketing department of DC Comics could come up with something better than this! The weird suit is growing on me though.

Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser Movie Poster

The first one sheet movie poster for Star Trek Into Darkness (aka Star Trek 2) has hit the internet and it seems like everyone has an opinion about it! Like most, I think it’s an awesome teaser poster…if only it hadn’t come out 6 months after The Dark Knight Rises released a very similar poster. It really is almost an exact rip-off of the effect the marketing of The Dark Knight Rises used in the poster seen here. Regardless, Star Trek Into Darkness’ first teaser poster, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, is still very cool and I can’t wait to see more!

Star Trek Into Darkness is set to boldly go into theaters on May 17, 2013.

MAD has teamed up with the Cartoon Network to release “Battle Ready,” an awesome new Adventure Time screen print featuring Finn and Jake the Dog!!! Transformers & G.I. Joe Skateboard Decks by The Loyal Subjects

Ever since I first saw those Transformers chibi style t-shirts from The Loyal Subjects I was really worried about the direct TLS was going to take their new Hasbro license. Thankfully, they’ve teamed up with some killer artists to produce a new line of killer Transformers and G.I. Joe skate decks! These new skateboards are the right mix of retro cool and pop art that that’s right up The Blot’s alley. And while his name’s not attached to the release, I’d recognize Sket One’s word art on the Megatron skateboard deck anywhere! According to his Instagram account Sket also designed the awesome Soundwave and Grimlock decks as well.

The Hasbro x The Loyal Subjects Transformers Skateboard Deck Series 1 includes designs featuring Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, Grimlock and “Megatron vs. Prime.” The Hasbro x The Loyal Subjects G.I. Joe Skateboard Deck Series 1 includes designs featuring Cobra Commander, Destro, Snake Eyes, “Blind Sword” Snake Eyes, and “Cobra Assassin” Storm Shadow. What I really love about this G.I. Joe line is how TLS incorporated the old school G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero packaging art from the 80’s on these decks!

Each skate deck measures 8.25” and is made from maple wood harvested from the Great Lakes region. While a few of the G.I. Joe skateboards are currently retailing for $55 at The Loyal Subjects’ online store, the rest should be popping up in stores everywhere in January 2013.
