Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Santa Cruz Skateboards Apparel Capsule Collection

Super7’s SDCC 2017 Exclusive Sofubi Vinyl Figures!

It wouldn’t be San Diego Comic-Con without some of Super7’s awesome sofubi figures cast in real soft Japanese vinyl. Although the company has focused more on licensed properties as of late, their original creations have always been some of the relations The Blot looks forward to the most every SDCC. This year, Super7 will be releasing the following four figures: “Metallic Blue Mayhem” Alien Queen 5” vinyl figure ($65), Black Cab Dragon 4” vinyl figure ($50) by Super7 x Secret Base x Steve Caballero, Glow Colonel Stinson 6” vinyl figure ($65) by Super7 x Invisible Creature, and “Furious Fossil” Caveman Dino 4” vinyl figure ($35) by Super7 x Josh Herbolsheimer. SDCC 14 Exclusive “Field Dress” The Last Knight Vinyl Figure & Skateboard by Andrew Bell

Andrew Bell’s The Last Knight is back in an extremely red new colorway set to release at San Diego Comic-Con 2014. The Last Knight is based on the moniker of Bell’s company Dead Zebra Inc., and is a skull-headed zebra in the form of an 8” tall knight chess piece. The San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive “Field Dress” The Last Knight will be released as both a limited edition vinyl figure and a skateboard. The figure will come hand numbered, and is limited to just 100 pieces, while the skateboard is limited to just 50 pieces. The figure can be purchased exclusively at the BAIT SDCC booth #4949 for $75 each or with the matching skate deck for $100.  The "Field Dress" The Last Knight skateboard can be purchased individually for $45.

Transformers & G.I. Joe Skateboard Decks by The Loyal Subjects

Ever since I first saw those Transformers chibi style t-shirts from The Loyal Subjects I was really worried about the direct TLS was going to take their new Hasbro license. Thankfully, they’ve teamed up with some killer artists to produce a new line of killer Transformers and G.I. Joe skate decks! These new skateboards are the right mix of retro cool and pop art that that’s right up The Blot’s alley. And while his name’s not attached to the release, I’d recognize Sket One’s word art on the Megatron skateboard deck anywhere! According to his Instagram account Sket also designed the awesome Soundwave and Grimlock decks as well.

The Hasbro x The Loyal Subjects Transformers Skateboard Deck Series 1 includes designs featuring Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, Grimlock and “Megatron vs. Prime.” The Hasbro x The Loyal Subjects G.I. Joe Skateboard Deck Series 1 includes designs featuring Cobra Commander, Destro, Snake Eyes, “Blind Sword” Snake Eyes, and “Cobra Assassin” Storm Shadow. What I really love about this G.I. Joe line is how TLS incorporated the old school G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero packaging art from the 80’s on these decks!

Each skate deck measures 8.25” and is made from maple wood harvested from the Great Lakes region. While a few of the G.I. Joe skateboards are currently retailing for $55 at The Loyal Subjects’ online store, the rest should be popping up in stores everywhere in January 2013.

Atomic Robo Skateboard by Freak Show

Freak Show unveiled the second release in its Longbox Series of comic book inspired skateboards, and this time it’s a deck featuring Atomic Robo! Atomic Robo is a killer indie comic by Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener, and produced by Red 5 Comics. Comic fans everywhere are talking about this series, so you know people will be lining up to get their hands on this skateboard.

The Atomic Robo Longbox Series Deck is a 7 ply, PRO skateboard with an amazing graphic by Atomic Robo co-creator Scott Wegener. This awesome board will be sold by Freak Show in two ways: an unsigned version for you to shred it up, and a super limited edition signed version that will be signed by both creators of Atomic Robo, Brian and Scott! The unsigned deck currently retails for $39.99 at the Freak Show online store. Savage Dragon Skateboard by Freak Show & Erik Larsen

As you may or may not know, The Blot is a gigantic Savage Dragon fan! I’ve been reading Erik Larsen’s long running comic book since the very first issue was released back in 1992, which means I’ve now been reading the Image comic for well over half of my life. So when Illinois skateboard company Freak Show (Facebook) announced earlier this week that it was launching its new line of comic book themed Longbox skateboards with a Savage Dragon skate deck I got really excited! While I’ve never been much of a skateboarder, I am seriously tempted to pick up one of these beautiful decks to add to my Dragon collection. Wouldn’t it look sick with a Savage Dragon doodle on it by Larsen!?!

While I haven’t been able to find out too much information on the company itself, I did learn the Savage Dragon skateboard is now available for pre-order through Freak Show's online store in three different options: there’s the basic Savage Dragon deck for $54.99, a signed Savage Dragon deck signed by the character’s creator Erik Larsen for $74.99, and a complete working Savage Dragon deck for $149.99. All decks are scheduled to ship the first week of July, and can be purchased at the Freak Show online store or by emailing them at freakshowskateboards@gmail.com.

The Hundreds x Garfield Clothing & Accessory Collection

I think it’s safe to say The Hundreds x Garfield Clothing and Accessory Collection is one of the most unexpected collaborations we’ve seen in some time. The Blot loves me some Garfield, but I don’t see the synergy between these two brands. Regardless, it’s here and some of the stuff is actually pretty cool. The Hundreds has even opened up a The Hundreds x Garfield Pop Up Shop, which will be hosting a Garfield Art Show (featuring art by Dave Kinsey, Buff Monster, DEPH, Alex Pardee and many more). You definitely can’t say The Hundreds is not going on all out in support of this collaboration!

According to Bobby Hundreds, “Garfield not only inspired, but also taught me how to draw cartoons. And decades later, it’s painfully obvious that much of my sense of humor came from the fat cat as well. So in a collaboration that is literally decades in the making, The Hundreds teams up with Garfield to create an exclusive collection available for a limited time, and recreate a nostalgia that everyone can relate to.”

Some of The Hundreds x Garfield Collection will be available worldwide and online, while certain releases will be exclusive to specific The Hundreds locations (like The Hundreds x U.S. Acres Collection). The Blot loved the U.S. Acres Saturday morning carton, so it’s really cool to see these characters brought back to life as part of The Hundreds x Garfield collection!

The Hundreds x Garfield Pop-Up Shop is located at 416 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA and will be open for the entire month of December. For those of us who don’t live in California, you can also purchase certain items from The Hundreds x Garfield Collection via The Hundreds online store here.

Supreme x Kermit x Kubrick

Last month Nylon Magazine unveiled that Colette would be hosting the photography exhibition Terry Richardson + Supreme + Kermit, which would debut the latest advertising campaign shot by noted photographer Terry Richardson for the legendary skate store and clothing brand Supreme. (link) As you can tell, the campaign focuses on one of Jim Henson’s most famous creations and the Muppet of all Muppets, Kermit the Frog.


In honor of Kermit’s new position as spokesfrog for Supreme, designer toy manufacturer Medicom is releasing a limited edition Supreme Kermit Kubrick figure. The Kermit the Frog Supreme Kubrick figure is 60 mm tall and will be released early April, 2008. (link)


While according to Supreme’s website it looks like their Kermit Skate Decks and Kermit Tees are all sold out, you might want to stop by one of their 6 worldwide locations to see if there are any hidden away somewhere.



For those of you in NYC, NikeSkateboarding.org is reporting that “posters of Kermit sporting a classic Supreme box t-shirt have appeared in New York’s Soho,” so if you can’t get your hands on a t-shirt or skate deck then maybe you can snag a used promo Supreme Kermit poster. (link)
