Rocky & Bullwinkle Pop! Animation Vinyl Figures by Funko

The world’s most famous moose and squirrel are back! Rocky and Bullwinkle have reemerged on the pop culture landscape thanks to the fine folks at Funko, and they’re bringing along their friends Mr. Peabody and Sherman! The Blot loves these classic animated characters and I’m glad to see them get the Pop! treatment. Funko never ceases to amaze me with their new licenses.  I just hope we get Boris and Natasha Pop! vinyl figures some time soon.

Each Rocky and Bullwinkle Pop! Animation vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Screen Print by Phantom City Creative

The first and only Batman: The Animated Series movie to get a theatrical release turns 20 years old this Christmas. The Blot can’t believe it’s already been 20 years since this fantastic movie hit theaters. Sadly, Mask of the Phantasm is still considered by most to be a utter flop due to its box office tally. Directed by Bruce Timm, written by Paul Dini, and featuring the voice talents of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was the beginning of a near flawless run of animated Batman films and series that ended with Batman Beyond in 2001.

In honor of the film’s 20th Anniversary Mondo is throwing the film a belated birthday party with a 35mm screening at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz on January 7th. As part of the celebration, Mondo will be bringing two new limited edition prints by Phantom City Creative for sale at the screening! It may be time for The Blot to plan his first trip to Austin in 2014! Tickets for the screening will be available for purchase here on December 24th!

“Glacier Beast” Christmas Ugly Unicorn Vinyl Figure by Rampage Toys

Christmas is almost here and Rampage Toys has a winterrific colorway of their Ugly Unicorn vinyl figure! Cast in a beautiful marbled soft Japanese vinyl made from a mash-up of clear turquoise and glow in the dark vinyl, the “Glacier Beast” Christmas Ugly Unicorn features various blue, white and silver spray with a little bit of sparkle-action on top! Each figure also includes a hand-knit beanie hat, specially designed so that the UU's horn can protrude freely. What a great accessory!

Unfortunately the “Glacier Beast” Christmas Ugly Unicorn, which retailed for $50, is limited to just 5 pieces and is already sold out. While you won’t be able to get a hand-knit UU beanie, Rampage Toys still has at least one unpainted “Glacial” Ugly Unicorn featuring the same marbled clear turquoise and glow in the dark vinyl. The Walking Dead Minimates Series 5

Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum continues its hugely popular line of The Walking Dead Minimates with even more figures based on their appearance in Robert Kirkman’s critically acclaimed prison storyline! The Blot’s somewhat shocked it’s taken this long for The Walking Dead Minimates Series 5 to come out. This is an awesome wave that brings more fan-favorite survivors into the fold, as well as new versions of old favorites and another great zombie!

The Walking Dead Minimates Series 5 includes 2-packs featuring Riot Gear Glenn with Maggie, Tyreese with Prison Michonne, Survivor Morgan with Geek Zombie, and a rare one-per-case variant set of Martinez with Geek Zombie. Each Minimate mini-figure stands 2 inches tall, with 14 points of articulation and a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories.

The Toy Titans Toytem stands 11.5” tall and is comprised of five stacked vinyl pieces, each representing the mascot of a “toy titan.”

Calvin Johnson “Megatron” Transformers Sneakers & Action Figure Pack by Nike

Nike has teamed up with Detroit Lions superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson and Hasbro to release an epic line of sneakers based on Calvin’s nickname “Megatron”, which he shares with a certain evil Decepticon leader. I can’t think of too many other official NFL x Transformers collaborations, but this one is pretty epic! The Nike x Hasbro Calvin Johnson “Megatron” Transformers Collection includes three different style of sneakers (CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max, Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II and CJ81 Megatron Elite TD Cleat), all of which feature a purple, silver and red color scheme and the Decepticons logo. But that’s not all! Each pair of sneakers also includes a 5” deluxe Generations Stealth Megatron in matching colors. This is the first ever Transformers action figure designed for an athlete in conjunction with a shoe release.

In celebration of Johnson’s athletic achievements, the limited edition Megatron Rises 3 Pack incorporates the Nike CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max, the Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II, and a special edition Nike CJ81 Megatron Elite TD Cleat. DC Nation Deadman & Crow Plush Figure 2 Pack by DC Comics

While The Blot loves DC Comics’ Deadman, I’m shaking my head at this release of the DC Nation Deadman and his faithful friend Crow Plush 2 Pack. It’d be one thing if the DC Nation was a ratings killer for the Cartoon Network, but they every show they release gets pulled from the schedule almost as quickly as it debuts. With that being said, I do love the DC Nation animated shorts the Cartoon Network airs during commercial breaks and this plush 6.75” Deadman plush is pretty cute!

The DC Nation Deadman and Crow Plush Figure 2 Pack by DC Collectibles does a fantastic job at capturing the creepy fun of this new DC Nation series.
