Mad Duck Posters has released this incredible Alfred Hitchcock poster by artist Paul Mann, entitled “Alfred Hitchcock: Master of Suspense”.  The awesome design features the legendary director in the foreground with a shattered image behind him. Each fragment includes a scene or an object associated with one of his classic movies.

Alfred Hitchcock: Master of Suspense by Paul Mann is an 18”x24” hand numbered screen print. Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope Screen Print by Greg Ruth x Mad Duck Posters

Mad Duck Posters continues its awesome Alfred Hitchcock screen print series with this fantastic new movie poster for Rope (starring James Stewart) by artist Greg Ruth! As Mad Duck Posters explained, “Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope is one of the best crime/mystery movies ever made. Two young men believe they have committed the perfect crime, and as they become increasingly more daring, their old teacher begins to suspect... The movie is unique in movie history as it required just 10 shots to film!  As a comparison, The Birds required 1360 shots to complete the film.”

Greg Ruth went on to say about his work the following: “The rope is of course allegorical, not to be confused with his actually wearing the ropes - but Stewart’s character is being essentially tied and strangled by the murder he is responsible for instigating by his own dark philosophy and his ignorance of it being put it into practice. It’s the moment of horror for him, that the shape of his ideology is that strangled boy in the box they’ve all been dining atop of. It’s the unspoken hidden image made plain and uncloaked by academic flourish and theoretical behavior. To participate in the reduction of the symbol would be to cheerlead for the murderers in the story, and push against the very thing he finds so horrid about their actions in the end.”

The Kraft-Tone Paper Bag Kraft Paper shows the appearance of texture to mimic rope with a color similar to the original movie posters. Tom Whalen’s Halloween 2022 Screen Prints

Tom Whalen is kicking off the Halloween season by releasing three brand new screen prints celebrating ‘80s horror, ‘60s horror, and ‘80s animation. All three Halloween prints are available for purchase now at StrongStuffShop.net. First up is “Re-Animator”, based on the cult classic 1985 comedy horror film, features a Halloween inspired orange, black, green and purple color scheme. It is a 12”x18” 5 color signed and numbered screen print. Limited to 70 pieces, Re-Animator retails for $25.

Next up is “Psycho”, which pays tribute to the iconic Alfred Hitchcock psychological horror film. It is a 12”x18” 4 color signed and numbered screen print featuring a monotone color scheme. It is limited to 60 pieces and retails for $30.  Last, but certainly not least, is “ROOST22”, which is a Halloween colorway of Whalen’s popular Transformers screen print featuring Soundwave and Laserbeak. Today, Mondo will be releasing this fantastic new movie poster for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1948 thriller Rope by We Buy Your Kids. Today, Mondo honors two celebrated cinematic classics: Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo and Psycho with movie posters by Matthew Woodson and Phantom City Creative respectively. SDCC 14 First Look: Mondo Announces A New Line of Designer Toys!

Last week, Mondo announced they were getting into the toy game, and The Blot is beyond excited! This is the just the kind of game changing announcement the designer art toy scene really needs right now. Everything Mondo has done up to this point has been top notch, whether it be t-shirts, screen prints, vinyl records, or VHS movie tapes, so you know they'll take the same approach to toys. I especially can’t wait to see what new artists they’ll be bringing to the toy game, which in turn will hopefully bring new fans to the scene (which we desperately need). Art toys are finally making a comeback!

At San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Mondo debuted their first four figures: a massive Iron Giant figure with tons of articulation, an epic “Lil Mikey” TMNT figure by Mike Mitchell, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figure based on Kevin Eastman’s very first TMNT drawing, and an officially licensed Alfred Hitchcock figure with all kinds of accessories like a director’s chair and megaphone. There were also a few other Iron Giant prop replica type figures on display as well. These are all going to be so great!!! And I will hopefully be updating this blog post with more pictures soon.

Threadless Alfred Hitchcock “Those Damn Birds!” T-Shirt

“Those Damn Birds!” is a funny pop culture themed design that combines Alfred Hitchock’s trademark profile shadow with one of his most popular films (The Birds) in a most unique way. I think you can probably figure out the connection just by looking at the design below without The Blot going into too much detail! I’m also really digging Threadless’ choice of t-shirt colors for this design. The black and turquoise color combination does a great job highlighting the white splat on Alfred’s head.
