Barneyism of the Week - Charity

"Ah, has it ever occurred to you to give some of this to charity?" - Ted

Charity? You’re seriously talking to me about charity?

Dude, I am Mr. Charity.

I frequently sleep with 6s, chubsters, over 30s.

I am the Bill and Melinda Gates of the sympathy bang.

Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series #17 - Ten Banthas by Jay Ryan

Wow, the Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series is seriously ending with a bang! Last week we got a low run Daniel Danger print and this week Mondo gives us an even smaller run Jay Ryan print. If this trend continues The Blot expects to see an Olly Moss or Tyler Stout Star Wars print with a run size of 50 pieces. “Ten Banthas” features, well, ten Banthas roaming the desert planet of Tatooine. And if you look closely at the print’s background you can even make out a tiny Star Destroyer flying through the sky.

“Ten Banthas” by Jay Ryan is a hand numbered 18“x24” screen print. This Star Wars print has a limited edition run size of only 175 pieces and will retail for $50 each. “Ten Banthas” can be purchased directly from Mondo at a random time today, Tuesday, December 14th, here.

A-Type Vinyl Figure Rai Red Colorway by Andrew Bell & mphlabs

mphlabs - A-Type Vinyl Figure Rai Red Colorway by Andrew Bell

Mphlabs and artist Andrew Bell have teamed up to bring the myplasticheart heart-shaped logo to life in the form of a platform toy called A-Type. It was designed with customizing in mind, and is incredibly versatile as far as display and presentation goes. The figure features two large surface areas, and has the ability to stand upside down, right side up, sitting down, or even hanging! The A-Type vinyl figure is built for variety and later on this week you’ll be able to buy the very first A-Type colorway entitled “Rai Red” designed by Andrew Bell.

The A-Type figure is made of vinyl and ABS, is 8” wide and stands 6” tall. The Rai Red A-Type vinyl figure will retail for $50 each. A blank white DIY version will also be going on sale later this week and can be purchased for just $35.

Thor Official Trailer #1

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, the Thor live action movie looks freaking awesome! If you don’t believe me, check out the trailer below, because it’ll blow your mind. They even found a way to make the Rainbow Bridge look cool. The only thing I dislike about Thor's first official trailer is the ending where they announce it’ll be shown in 3D. Hasn’t this fad run its course yet?

Official Synopsis: Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the epic adventure Thor spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor will premiere in theaters nationwide on May 6, 2011.

Chinese Zodiac Mini Figure Series by Joe Ledbetter

Joe Ledbetter's Chinese Zodiac Mini Figure Series

Early this morning on Twitter, Joe Ledbetter unveiled his all new mini figure series entitled “Joe Ledbetter’s Chinese Zodiac!"  Produced by Play Imaginative and coming sometime in 2011, JLed fans new and old are sure to go crazy over this 12 figure blind box series. The Blot’s got a feeling we’ll be seeing some awesome variant chase figures in this series…perhaps even a handful of lava colorways? More info to come!

Threadless Pac-Man T-Shirt “Late Night Snack”

If Star Wars is Threadless’ favorite pop culture subject to spoof, then coming in at a very close second is Pac-Man. “Late Night Snack” is the third Pac-Man themed shirt released by Threadless in the last two months, and it’s definitely my favorite of the bunch. I love its use of Pac-Man as the moon, and the fact that the artists included all four ghosts, power pellets and even some of the bonus fruit! But where are the 8-bit strawberries!?!

Cowboys & Aliens Teaser Movie Poster #2 and Trailer

Cowboys & Aliens One Sheet Teaser Movie Poster #2

While we’re still over six months away from the premiere of Cowboys & Aliens, the film’s marketing is really starting to ramp up! First the official Cowboys & Aliens trailer was released a few weeks ago, and now a second C&A one sheet teaser movie poster has been unveiled. Strangely, both posters feature Daniel Craig with his face hidden. You’d think they’d want to start featuring their star’s steely gaze and piercing blue eyes. The Blot’s also hoping for a few character one sheet movie posters featuring Olivia Wilde (and maybe even Harrison Ford).

Cowboys & Aliens, directed by Jon Favreau, will premiere in the summer of 2011.

Thor Teaser Movie Poster

Thor One Sheet Teaser Movie Poster

Yesterday, Marvel released the first of what I am sure will be many one sheet movie posters for their upcoming live action summer movie Thor. For a teaser poster they really gave us a killer “first look” at Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Is it me or does Mjolnir look gigantic in this poster? The Blot can’t wait to see more!

Thor will debut in theaters sometime in May 2011.

Threadless Star Wars T-Shirt “This Is Not The Eye Chart You're Looking For”

The Blot has finally come to a realization, Threadless loves Star Wars. How else do you account for the third Star Wars design published in the past few weeks? Normally I’d complain and ask for more variety, but I love Star Wars so we’ll let it slide. Threadless’ newest Star Wars inspired tee is entitled “This Is Not The Eye Chart You're Looking For,” which is an eye chart that spells out the first line of every Star Wars opening crawl: “A long time ago in galaxy far, far away…”

Inspired by the opening crawl from Star Wars, the Threadless t-shirt “This Is Not The Eye Chart You're Looking For” comes printed on a black t-shirt and is currently on sale at Threadless.com for $15 (it’s normally $18). The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

The Hundreds x Garfield Clothing & Accessory Collection

The Hundreds x Garfield Collection

I think it’s safe to say The Hundreds x Garfield Clothing and Accessory Collection is one of the most unexpected collaborations we’ve seen in some time. The Blot loves me some Garfield, but I don’t see the synergy between these two brands. Regardless, it’s here and some of the stuff is actually pretty cool. The Hundreds has even opened up a The Hundreds x Garfield Pop Up Shop, which will be hosting a Garfield Art Show (featuring art by Dave Kinsey, Buff Monster, DEPH, Alex Pardee and many more). You definitely can’t say The Hundreds is not going on all out in support of this collaboration!

The Hundreds x Garfield Clothing & Accessory Collection - Garfield Group Shot & U.S. Acres Group Shot T-Shirts

According to Bobby Hundreds, “Garfield not only inspired, but also taught me how to draw cartoons. And decades later, it’s painfully obvious that much of my sense of humor came from the fat cat as well. So in a collaboration that is literally decades in the making, The Hundreds teams up with Garfield to create an exclusive collection available for a limited time, and recreate a nostalgia that everyone can relate to.”

The Hundreds x Garfield Clothing & Accessory Collection - Garfield New Era Fitted Cap & Garfield Beanie

Some of The Hundreds x Garfield Collection will be available worldwide and online, while certain releases will be exclusive to specific The Hundreds locations (like The Hundreds x U.S. Acres Collection). The Blot loved the U.S. Acres Saturday morning carton, so it’s really cool to see these characters brought back to life as part of The Hundreds x Garfield collection!

The Hundreds x Garfield Pop Up Store

The Hundreds x Garfield Pop-Up Shop is located at 416 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA and will be open for the entire month of December. For those of us who don’t live in California, you can also purchase certain items from The Hundreds x Garfield Collection via The Hundreds online store here.
