The Iron Giant Deluxe Action Figure by Mondo

Now here’s a release I know collectors around the world have been waiting for. Ever since it first debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, everyone’s been buzzing about Mondo’s upcoming The Iron Giant Deluxe Figure, and it’s finally here! This whopping 16” tall fully poseable figure will finally go up for pre-sale today. To create this amazing piece Mondo acquired digital files used in the film and were able to design the most accurate and detailed Iron Giant figure ever.

The Iron Giant Deluxe Figure features over 30 points of articulation, two interchangeable heads with a light up feature, magnetic “S” that can be detached from its sign and attached to his chest, switch-out “War Arm,” Hogarth mini-figure, and a girder to munch on. But that’s not all! The figure also includes a sound feature with Iron Giant quotes from the film. How awesome is that!?!

Mondo is also releasing a limited edition “Hand Under Foot” Edition Iron Giant Deluxe Figure, that includes a “Hand Under Foot” accessory modeled after the Iron Giant's detached hand that runs loose in the farmhouse. This amazing accessory is limited to just 250 pieces.

Both versions of the Iron Giant Deluxe Figure will go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, January 22nd, at the Mondo online store. The standard Iron Giant figure will retail for $300, while the limited edition “Hand Under Foot” Variant will retail for $315.

DC Comics Jae Lee Batman/Superman Designer Series Wave 1 Action Figures

DC Collectibles’ has unveiled their second “Designer Series” line of action figures, and this time it’s based on the amazing artwork of Jae Lee from the DC Comics comic book series Batman/Superman. The Blot loves Jae Lee’s artwork, and these figures look amazing. I’m honestly a little surprised there isn’t more black shading on each figure to mimic Lee’s signature inking style. The Jae Lee Batman/Superman Designer Series Wave 1 includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Catwoman.

Each action figure in the DC Comics Jae Lee Batman/Superman Designer Series toy line stands approximately 6.75” tall, features multiple points of articulation, and comes packaged on a blister card. While this wave of figures is not expected to hit store shelves until August 2015, you can pre-order all four figures now from Entertainment Earth for $22.99 each here.

Batman: The Animated Series Roxy Rocket Deluxe Action Figure

DC Comics continues its celebration of Batman’s 75th Anniversary with the release of their new Batman: The Animated Series 6” scale toy line’s first deluxe action figure, Roxy Rocket! Roxy Rocket has never been produced as a toy before, and she comes with her famed rocket ship that measures over 12” long has sports real working lights. Here’s hoping Roxy’s rocket isn’t the only vehicle released as part of this fully articulated Batman: TAS toy line.

The Batman: The Animated Series Roxy Rocket Deluxe Action Figure stands 5.5” tall, features 24 points of articulation, and includes show specific accessories and a display base. Big Trouble in Little China ReAction Retro Action Figures by Funko & Super7

For the first time since the ReAction Figure line originally launched in early 2014, Funko and Super7 have added a brand new licensed property to the toy line! The newest wave of ReAction figures includes characters from the cult classic Big Trouble in Little China by John Carpenter. These figures look fantastic, and I especially love that Funko utilized the film’s iconic one sheet movie poster artwork for the wave’s blister card packaging. What I really want to know is whether or not they used the same Kurt Russell head sculpt for Jack Burton as they did for Russell as Snake Plissken in John Carpenter’s Escape from New York.

The Big Trouble in Little China ReAction Retro Action Wave includes Jack Burton, Lo Pan, Gracie Law, Rain, Thunder and Lightning. Each figure includes 5 points of articulation and comes packaged on a full color “retro” blister card. “Greetings from Under the Sea” The Little Mermaid Screen Print by Dave Perillo

Little did The Blot know that last October when Dark Ink Art and Acme Archives Direct released Dave Perillo’s Frozen screen print “Greetings from Arendelle” they were really kicking off a brand new Disney Screen Print Series! For the series’ second release, Perillo has designed this super fun movie poster for the iconic 1989 animated film The Little Mermaid. “Greetings from Under the Sea” features The Little Mermaid's entire beloved cast (even the evil Ursula) and boy do its colors pop! I love the idea behind this “Greetings From…” Series, and can’t wait to see what classic animated film Perillo gets to design for next.

The Blot does not understand how Disney’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit? does not get more love and attention! It’s a freaking classic that is criminally underrated. Thankfully Dark Ink Art and Acme Archives agree, and have teamed up with Michael De Pippo to release this beautiful Jessica Rabbit screen print! De Pippo’s unique art style was a perfect choice to capture the sultry vibe of this animated sex symbol.

Joshua Budich just released this epic Stand By Me movie poster for pre-order, and The Blot is all about it! Honesty, it’s always amazed me that director Rob Reiner was able to cast these four amazing children for the film’s leads. Who knew River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman and Jerry O'Connell would become such amazing talents!?! Budich has classified his Stand By Me screen print as a “public” private commission. He’s giving everyone interested in the poster a chance to buy into the run before any copies are officially offered publicly. It’s not all that different than a pre-sale, but the number of orders may slightly increase the run size.

Stand By Me by Joshua Budich is an 18”x24” signed and numbered 3 color screen print.
