Astro Boy Screen Print by Michael De Pippo x Bottleneck Gallery

Astro Boy Screen Print by Michael De Pippo x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery is teaming up with artist Michael De Pippo to release this simplistic yet beautiful Astro Boy screen print! As BNG explained, “Michael’s bold and minimalist poster for Astro Boy lays out the foundational elements of Astro’s story, as well as Astro’s body. Approaching Astro Boy as a pseudo-Operation board game, Michael’s print strikes at the heart of the story–Astro is a robot with a heart, but also a boy with dreams. Michael’s print hits on both a visual and metaphorical level, and we admire the depth of the piece.”

Astro Boy by Michael De Pippo is an 18”x24” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Variant is limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $60. Both Astro Boy posters will go on sale at 12pm ET on Wednesday, November 1st, at BottleneckGallery.com.

Mondo is teaming up with LAIKA Animation Studios to release the Coraline soundtrack on deluxe limited edition vinyl for the very first time! LAIKA’s stop-motion animated feature film Coraline is one of The Blot’s all time favorite films, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this soundtrack. The film features music by Bruno Coulais, an original song by They Might Be Giants and cover artwork by artist Michael De Pippo.

Coraline Soundtrack Vinyl Record by Mondo

The soundtrack to Coraline is haunting and beautiful. With the help of the Budapest Orchestra and Choir behind him, Bruno Coulais captures the dark child-like imagination of the titular protagonist with a menace and aplomb. Without seeing the film you can follow the musical journey of the story from Coraline’s angsty reality, to her dreamy uneasiness, to the ultimate unravelling.

Coraline Soundtrack Black & White Swirl Vinyl Record Variant by Mondo

The Coraline original motion picture soundtrack is pressed on 2xLP 180 gram 12” black vinyl records, with randomly inserted black and white swirl vinyl variants randomly inserted into the run. Think of this as a blind box for vinyl records! Music lovers can pick up this awesome OST at a random time on Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Mondo online store for $32.

The Standard Edition print features Charlie Brown dressed ready for Halloween reflecting on one of the film’s most quoted lines: "I got a rock." Michael's Variant Edition print features Sally and Linus prominently, and pays homage to those beloved classic TV Guide ads that signaled to every kid that something they wanted to see would be airing soon! The Blot especially loves how De Pippo included Snoopy’s profile in the Variant’s title at the bottom.

The Muppets Retro Concert Poster Screen Prints by Michael De Pippo

The Muppets Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem Retro Concert Poster Screen Print Series by Michael De Pippo - “Dr. Teeth: Keyboard”

A few months ago artist Michael De Pippo designed some killer retro concert posters for the greatest Muppet band of all time, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem! For his tribute to the new Muppets movie, De Pippo wanted to keep things simple, “create a vintage concert poster for each band member (Dr. Teeth, Janice, Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Zoot and Animal). Using clean, crisp vectors, negative space and few colours, I wanted to keep them as simple and stylized as possible; reminiscent of retro posters from back in the day.”

Five prints have been created for this series, each spotlighting a different member of the band (“Dr. Teeth: Keyboard”, “Animal: Drums”, “Floyd: Bass”, “Janice: Guitar” and “Zoot: Sax”).
