Artist Dan McCarthy has released another one of his signature landscape art prints, and boy is it beautiful!  As McCarthy explained, the title for this print “Pastoral” comes “from the song by musician Moondog. This song has been playing on repeat in my home and my head for months and I feel like it really marks a point in time for me. It was playing in my head when I was in Maine last summer while looking out at the ocean and that is where this print takes place.”

SDCC 2020 Exclusive “Let's make something weird together” Screen Print Set by Daniel Danger & Friends!

I think it’s safe to say that Daniel Danger won San Diego Comic-Con 2020 when he released this seriously impressive exclusive screen print “Let's make something weird together”, a collaboration between 28 different artists! As Danger explained, “Me and 27 buddies got together and made the ultimate cabin fever quarantine pandemic stay at home print set.” What an insane undertaking! Each artist designed a different room in one of two condemned buildings.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Exclusive “Let's make something weird together” by Daniel Danger and Friends is two 18”x24” hand numbered screen prints. This amazing collaboration is currently available at DanielDanger.storenvy.com from now through the end of July 2020 in three different timed edition colorways. The Black and White Edition retails for $50 per set, while the Purple Edition and Green Edition are $70 per set.

Here’s one of the coolest releases I’ve heard about since the COVID-19 pandemic rocked the world. Because of the uncertainty so many of us are living in right now due to the coronavirus, artist Dan McCarthy knows money is tight with a lot of collectors. It is a multi-day event that introduces and engages the regional community with hands-on interaction and participation in the arts. In the middle of the student center, they set up a place for McCarthy to print during the event. Over 2 days, McCarthy hand pulled 90 copies of this gorgeous art print.

Dan McCarthy is bringing his incredibly beautiful artwork to MondoCon 4 this weekend (November 4-5) in Austin, Texas, and you absolutely have to see it to believe it. Just check out the MondoCon exclusive variant of “All was right with the world”! Limited to just 12 pieces, it’s an 18”x24” signed and numbered 6 color print on wood. Then there’s the MondoCon debut of “The rain had a sound”, which is an 12”x18”x1.5” signed and numbered 3 color screen print on wood. This bad boy is limited to 176 pieces and will look fantastic on anyone’s wall!

Jurassic Park Soundtrack Vinyl Record by John Williams with Cover Artwork by JC Richard & Dan McCarthy

Today Mondo will be releasing their newest vinyl record, and it’s the original motion picture soundtrack of Jurassic Park by iconic composer John Williams! I owned the cd of this soundtrack of a kid and it’s pretty freaking great. Can’t wait to see what it sounds like on vinyl! Mondo will actually be releasing two limited edition versions of this album: Version A features cover artwork by JC Richard pressed on black vinyl, with randomly inserted “Dilophosaurus” colored vinyl, while Version B features cover artwork by Dan McCarthy pressed on translucent amber vinyl.

Both versions of the Jurassic Park soundtrack are pressed on 2xLP 180 gram 12” vinyl records. Fans can pick up both versions of the OST at a random time today, Wednesday, June 11th, at the Mondo online store for $35 each.

E.T. Screen Print by Dan McCarthy

This stunning E.T. screen print by Dan McCarthy is a perfect example of McCarthy’s amazing art. Every piece by him is more breathtaking than the last. Add in a cute little extraterrestrial and you’ve got a must buy in The Blot’s book! Originally released in conjunction with the Alamo Drafthouse’s Summer of 1982 movie series, the remaining prints will be going on sale at a random time today, Thursday, June 14th, at Mondo’s online store.

E.T. by Dan McCarthy is a 36"x24" hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 375 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Variant has a limited edition run size of 145 pieces and will retail for $75.

Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series #4 - Hoth by Dan McCarthy

The fourth screen print in the Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series was unveiled yesterday and it is entitled “Hoth” by Dan McCarthy! McCarthy is a huge name in the world of screenprints and his landscapes are always breathtaking, so I would expect the combination of a McCarthy print with Star Wars to mean a super fast sellout.

And if you’re wondering how we know this beautiful snowy landscape really is the icy planet of Hoth, you can see a viper probe droid in the foreground, sent by the Empire to search for the Rebellion’s secret Echo Base (as seen in The Empire Strikes Back). The Blot loves Star Wars, but what’s really cool about this print is that it could be hung on your wall and most people would not necessarily know it was Star Wars related. Sometimes that’s a good thing when your significant other isn’t in to sci-fi.

Lost Screen Print #9 - Rousseau's Transmission by Dan McCarthy

Ok, this is getting out of hand. This week’s Lost screen print, “Rousseau’s Transmission” by Dan McCarthy, sold out before I even got a chance to look at it! These prints in honor of Lost: The Final Season have gotten so popular with the television show’s fervent fan base, in order to get your hands on one you pretty much have to be at the website within the hour a new print is released. I really like this print for two reasons: 1) it is an amazing example of McCarthy’s beautiful work (you can see more here) and 2) it showcases one of my favorite Lost scenes, the moment Shannon first translates Rousseau’s radio transmission.


“Rousseau’s Transmission” is the ninth screen print released on Damon, Carlton and A Polar Bear in honor of Lost’s sixth and final season. Dan McCarthy’s limited edition Lost screen print “Rousseau’s Transmission” measures 18”x30” (the largest Lost screen print to date), has a run size of 300 pieces, and comes hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print sells for $50 each and could have been purchased here before it sold out.
