Disney’s Darkwing Duck Print by Hernan Carracedo x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery is releasing this striking Darkwing Duck print by artist Hernan Carracedo!  The Masked Mallard is one of The Blot’s favorite Disney characters (I was a huge fan of the original The Disney Afternoon animation block), so any new Darkwing Duck merch is a big news at my house.

Darkwing Duck by Hernan Carracedo is an 18”x36” hand numbered fine art Disney giclee print. The Regular Edition is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Noir Variant is limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $50. There is also a 3D Lenticular Variant on a 1mm PET board, which is limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $100. Disney’s Darkwing Duck Resin Figurine by Britto x Enesco

While Enesco’s Disney by Britto collection is not normally the kind of figures I cover here at The Blot Says, there’s so little Darkwing Duck merchandise out there I couldn’t pass up the chance to talk about my favorite crime fighting mallard. As you all know, The Blot is a HUGE fan of Disney’s 2 hour animated television programming block from the 1990s and their original series like DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers! As a kid, The Blot was a huge fan of The Disney Afternoon block of original animated programming, like DuckTales, Gummi Bears, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, and of course, Darkwing Duck! While The Blot has not covered the past 2 Disney Afternoon Vinylmation releases (either because I never watched the show or didn’t find out about the release until after they were sold out), this was the one set I’ve really been looking forward to...the Darkwing Duck 2 pack! Like most of you, Darkwing Duck was my favorite Disney Afternoon cartoon (right up there with DuckTails and Gummi Bears) and I’ve really enjoyed the series' rebirth in the BOOM! Studios comic books. The set includes Darkwing Duck (a.k.a. Drake Mallard) and Drake's nine-year-old adopted daughter (and sidekick) Gosalyn.

This Darkwing Duck #1 variant cover from Boom! Studios, available only at San Diego Comic Con 2010, is a parody of Frank Miller's iconic cover for The Dark Knight Returns. The Blot used to love all those old Disney cartoons from the ‘90s like Ducktails, Darkwing Duck and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, and I will definitely try to get a copy of this Darkwing Duck comic book.
