Earlier this week, Johnny Cupcakes released two awesome new Star Wars t-shirts! These Galactic Empire “Sugar Skull” t-shirts take the iconic helmets of Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper and reimagine them as food inspired Día de Muertos skull designs. I love JC’s unique take on the Day of the Dead skull with added elements like a cupcake outline and cherries.

These “Dark Side Sugar Skull” and “Trooper Sugar Skull” Star Wars t-shirts are currently available for purchase at the Johnny Cupcakes online store in guys and girls styles, sizes S-XXXL, for $35.99 each.

“Jack and Sally Muertitos” The Nightmare Before Christmas Screen Print by Maxx242

On Black Friday, Maxx242 and F4D Studios released this awesome limited edition The Nightmare Before Christmas screen print entitled “Jack and Sally” from Maxx242’s Muertos Series. The Muertos Series takes some of Maxx242’s favorite pop culture images and combines them with the Mexican Dia De Los Muertos holiday.

“Jack and Sally” by Maxx242 is a 2 color The Nightmare Before Christmas Muertos 12”x24” signed and numbered screen print on archival paper. The print is limited to just 50 pieces and can be purchased from the Fighting4Dreams Studios online store for $30.

First Look: The Simpsons x Kidrobot Day of the Dead Mariachi Homer Vinyl Figure

The Blot can’t explain it, but Día de Muertos is seriously taking over the 2013 toy world! The newest release to cash in on the Day of the Dead phenomenon is this The Simpsons x Kidrobot “Day of the Dead” Mariachi Homer vinyl figure. This 6” tall vinyl figure of Homer Simpson from Kidrobot features the patriarch of the Simpsons clan dressed like a mariachi musician in a charro outfit and sporting face paint of a Día de Muertos skeleton. The figure actually looks pretty cool, but I’m loving its packaging even more! It’s too bad Homer’s not sporting the colorful design on the figure’s box instead. Regardless, I know The Simpsons fans will all be scrambling to get their hands on this fun new figure.

The Nightmare Before Christmas “Day of the Dead” Pop! Disney Vinyl Figures

Everyone’s getting in on the Dia de Los Muertos craze this fall! In honor of The Nightmare Before Christmas’ 20th Anniversary (boy does The Blot feel old!) Funko is releasing a new wave of NBX Pop! Disney vinyl figures…but with a twist! These “Day of the Dead” Nightmare Before Christmas Pop! features Jack Skellington and Sally rocking some very cool Dia de Los Muertos skeleton designs on their face. Pretty much anything Jack Skellington rocks, and I think this Disney x Day of the Dead mash-up works.

Each The Nightmare Before Christmas “Day of the Dead” Pop! Disney vinyl figure by Funko stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation, and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. Star Trek “Skele Treks” Series 1 Vinyl Figures by NECA

NECA is entering the realm of vinyl figure with their new “Skele Treks” Star Trek Series. It is evidently a line of skeleton Star Trek figures in honor of Dia de Los Muertos. If you just went “Huh?” you’re not the only one! Seems extremely random to The Blot but I guess everyone wants to cash in on the Dia de Los Muertos craze. Star Trek “Skele Treks” Series 1 includes 5” vinyl figures of Captain James T. Kirk, Klingon Commander Kor, and a Borg all featuring Mexican skeleton faces. What’s even more interesting is how this line merges characters from both The Original Series with Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Each Star Trek “Skele Treks” Series 1 vinyl figures features an incredibly detailed sculpt and 3 points of articulation (at the arms and neck).
