Today, Bottleneck Gallery will be releasing this wonderful tribute to Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli by artist Andrew Rowland, entitled “I am an Animator”. “Miya-san” Hayao Miyazaki Tribute Figure by Bigshot Toyworks & Martin Hsu

Bigshot Toyworks and Martin Hsu have teamd up to create the new Miya-san resin figure, a tribute to the legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. If you’re not familiar with Miyazaki, he is the creator of such classics as Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Ponyo. Now that’s a pretty stellar line-up if I do say so myself! This spot on homage is a true celebration of all the joy Miyazaki has brought to the world.

The Miya-san resin figure by Bigshot Toyworks and Martin Hsu is limited to just 300 pieces and will go up for pre-sale at the Tenacious Toys online store for $95 each beginning on January 21st at 2pm EST and closing at midnight of January 31st. The Hayao Miyazaki tribute figure will stand 6” tall and comes packaged in a gift box. Proceeds from the sales of this figure will be donated to an as-yet-undetermined charity chosen by Martin Hsu and Klim Kozinevich.

My Neighbor Totoro Screen Print by Olly Moss

The Blot was really wavering on blogging about this one. While I love Olly Moss’ work, I’m not into anime so this new Mondo screen print series with legendary Studio Ghibli really means nothing to me. But fans seem to be going crazy for this Olly poster for the classic Hayao Miyazaki film My Neighbor Totoro, so how could I ignore it completely? There are a lot more details in this print than I’m used to in a Moss print, but if Miyazaki’s fans are happy then so am I.

The Mondo x Studio Ghibli Series kicks off today with the My Neighbor Totoro print by Olly Moss. This is a 20”x36” hand numbered screen print, has a limited edition run size of 420 pieces and will retail for $50 each. There is also a Green Variant My Neighbor Totoro screen print that has a limited edition run size of 170 pieces and will retail for $90. This go on sale at a random time today, Friday, December 16th, at the Mondo online store.
