The Blot is really digging Sekure D’s newest creation, the Roctopus! It’s what you get when you combine a stack of sentient rocks with some octopus tentacles. This first run of Roctopus resin figures was hand sculpted, cast and painted by Sekure D. Limited to just 3 figures, the Roctopus retailed for $45 at the artist’s online store. Unfortunately, these three awesome figures are now sold out.

This Friday, May 13th, Kidrobot officially launches its brand new line of 5” Dunnys with this killer Codename Unknown Dunny design by Australian artist Sekure D! The Blot has been a huge fan of Sekure D’s work unique custom art for years, and I’m beyond excited his signature Codename Unknown design is finally being released as a production Dunny. And what an honor to be the first ever 5” Dunny to be released by KR!

The Codename Unknown Dunny by Sekure D is the debut Dunny in Kidrobot's new Emerging Artist Series, and will be available in two colorways, a standard Yellow Edition and a Kidrobot Exclusive Pink Edition. Big Trouble in Little China “Pork Russel” Resin Figure by Sekure D x Jeremy Tanavit

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here, Sekure D has finally released his very first production toy online! Meet Pork Russel, a resin figure conceived through a love of Big Trouble in Little China, mashes-up the star of the movie, Jack Burton, with his beloved truck’s nickname, The Pork Chop Express. What’s really cool about this piece is it’s the first release in a new series of movie based figures designed by Sekure D and Jeremy Tanavit.

The Big Trouble in Little China inspired Pork Russel Resin Figure stands 7.8” tall and is limited to just 30 pieces. Collectors can purchase one now from the Sekure D online store for $140.

Meet Sekure D’s First Production Figure, Pork Russel!

Yesterday, Sekure D posted this awesome teaser image for his very first production toy! Meet Pork Russel, a collaboration between Sekure D and his buddy Jem in Singapore. Inspired by Big Trouble in Little China, one of Sekure D’s all-time favorite movies, Pork Russel stands 6” tall and is a mash-up Kurt Russell’s Jack Burton with his Mack Truck in the film, the Pork Chop Express!!! What a freaking brilliant idea. The Blot can’t wait to find out more about this exciting upcoming release.

Tomorrow Sekure D will be releasing his newest custom blind box series, and it’s fan-tastic! Inspired by the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, the Codename Bulls Series pays homage to five of the franchise most popular players. With the release of this blind box series Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah officially join the ranks of Sekure D’s Codename Unknown Army!

NYCC 13 Exclusive outsmART Originals x Sekure D “Faced” T-Shirt

For New York Comic Con 2013, outsmART originals has put assembled a killer line-up of artists to design extremely limited NYCC exclusive t-shirts! My favorite of the bunch is this “Faced” tee designed by Sekure D. This is the first collaboration between outsmART originals the Australian artist, but The Blot hopes not the last. Sekure D has been releasing amazing custom sneakers (and toys) for years, and there’s no doubt his unique style translates beautifully to apparel. Here’s hoping we see some of his more colorful designs released as t-shirts in the future!

The New York Comic Con 2013 Exclusive “Faced” t-shirt by Sekure D will be strictly limited to a small production run and can be purchased at the Tenacious Collective NYCC booth #208 for $25 each. Amorphous Blob Resin Figure by Sekure D

After producing more amazing custom sneakers and vinyl figures than The Blot can count, artist Sekure D decided it was time making his very own original resin figure! And so Sekure D went to work creating the Amorphous Blob. As Sekure D explained on his blog, “ever since I made my first blob I knew I wanted to make a full series and this appeared to be the very best way. It has been a steep learning curve with a few bad pulls but these ones are near perfect.”

Three near perfect 3.5” Amorphous Blob resin figures went up for sale in Sekure D’s online store yesterday. Each one is hand cast and hand painted by Sekure D and retails for $50. Get one while you still can!

The Ultimate Avengers Paw Custom Vinyl Figure by Sekure D

While The Blot isn’t really into Coarse Toys’ Paw vinyl figure, Sekure D absolutely killed this custom! The idea alone is just bananas, but it’s Sekure D’s execution that really makes this Ultimate Avengers Paw one of my all time favorite custom figures. The design itself is an amalgam of the costumes of the four primary members of Marvel’s The Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Incredible Hulk. I love how seamless the design looks. Sekure D took elements of each hero’s costume and combined them in such a way that makes it look natural. Just look at how Iron Man’s chest-mounted "uni-beam" looks perfect in the center of Cap’s star.

According to Sekure D, this custom “represents months of work; it might not [look] like the most intricate design to begin with but I can assure you this is probably the most labour intensive custom I have made to date, it was just ridiculously consuming. There is approximately 700 scales on the body of Captain America all of which have a drop shadow and then the green and reds I used were unfortunately horribly opaque. We did not fit all the Avengers in there and as you can probably tell I absolutely created a scale of importance with who I did use however this is how I felt the design could be best accomplished.”

Watchmen x Jordan Brand Custom Sneaker Collection Part 1 by Sekure D

One of The Blot’s highlights of Designer Con 2012 was meeting Australian artist Sekure D! While I’d been familiar with his amazing custom work for a while, I had no idea he was as huge of a comic book fan as I am. We talked a lot of comics that day, and I could definitely feel the passion Sekure D has for Alan Moore’s seminal work, the hit DC Comics maxi-series Watchmen. So it should have come as no surprise that he’s been working on an amazing series of custom Watchmen Air Jordan sneakers!

It’s been a really long time since I’ve featured custom sneakers here on TheBlotSays.com, but the minute I saw these amazing sneakers I knew I had to blog about them ASAP! Sekure D’s Watchmen x Air Jordan capsule is an ongoing project that features different Air Jordan sneakers customized in honor of a different Watchmen character. Three designs have already been released and are currently sold out: Rorschach Air Jordan IV sneakers, Comedian Air Jordan VI sneakers and Dr. Manhattan Air Jordan IV sneakers.

But for those of you interested in getting a pair, Sekure D’s newest Watchmen custom sneakers are these beautiful purple and gold Ozymandias Air Jordan VII sneakers, which were released earlier this month via Sekure D’s online store and are still available in select sizes. Next up are designs based on Silk Spectre and Night Owl, and then Sekure D will finish his Watchmen series with a mystery design that is guaranteed to knock your socks off!
