New Star Wars Vinylmation Vinyl Figures by Disney

Over the past few months Disney has released a number of really cool new Star Wars Vinylmation vinyl figures! What’s amazing about these releases is the variety of the figures. This Friday, July 1st, Disney will be releasing the limited edition Max Rebo Band Eachez. An Eachez release is when Disney releases just one single design blind box style with a very rare chase variant randomly inserted. Based on Episode IV: A New Hope, the Max Rebo Band features Sy Snootles (9/10) and Droopy McCool (1/10) 3” vinyl figures sold blind box style for $16.99 each and is limited to just 1,500 pieces.

Last month Disney released this epic Ewok 9” Vinylmation vinyl figure, the first large scale Star Wars Vinylmation released in a really long time! This limited edition figure retails for $59.95. There’s also a very special limited edition Endor Princess Leia 3” Combo Topper Vinylmation Pack based on her appearance in Return of the Jedi that is available as an add on to Star Wars Vinylmation Series 6 for $14.99.

Featuring characters based on Episode 6: Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Vinylmation Series 6 includes Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Max Rebo, Teebo the Ewok, Klaatu, Oola, and Stormtrooper, plus one mystery chase figure!

Yesterday, Disney surprised Vinylmation fans everywhere by the releasing this epic Star Wars: The Force Awakens Vinylmation Series 1 to commemorate the film’s opening weekend! Designed by artist Thomas Scott, this exciting new Star Wars Vinylmation series includes seven known figures and at least two mystery chasers. Star Wars: The Force Awakens Vinylmation Series 1 includes Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron, BB-8, C-3PO, Kylo Ren, and a First Order Stormtrooper. The Blot has seen it confirmed that the mystery chaser is a Finn in Stormtrooper Gear and there is also a “Masked” Rey variant.

This weekend kicks off Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL, Disney will be releasing the next series in its extremely popular Star Wars Vinylmation toy line! Featuring characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, Star Wars Vinylmation Series 5 includes Han Solo in Stormtrooper Gear, Princess Leia, Jabba the Hutt, a Sandtrooper, a Tie Fighter Pilot, Momaw Nadon (aka Hammerhead), Dr. Evazan, Figrin D’an, Duros, Labria and a Death Star Droid (aka RA-7 Protocol Droid).

Star Wars Vinylmation Blind Box Series drops on Friday, May 15th, at Hollywood Studios, and is a limited edition release sold blind box style for $12.95 each.

Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett Vinylmation Vinyl Figure by Disney

The Blot loves all of the Boba Fett Star Wars Vinylmations that have been releasing lately! Just last month Disney released the “Star Wars Holiday Special” Boba Fett Vinylmation, which is based on the character’s appearance in the universally loathed Star Wars 1978 Holiday Special on CBS. While the Star Wars Holiday Special is most widely known for only airing once before being hidden away forever by George Lucas, it also marked Boba Fett’s very first appearance (in a short animated segment). I’ve personally always loved this light blue animated take the world’s most beloved bounty hunter, and it looks fantastic as a Vinylmation figure!

The Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett Vinylmation vinyl figure stands 3” tall, is limited to 1,500 pieces, and retailed for $16.95 per blind box at Disney World, Disneyland and the Disney online store. Sadly this awesome figure sold out almost immediately upon release. Ebay here we go!

Star Wars Vinylmation Series 4

Disney released Star Wars Vinylmation Series 4 earlier this summer, but you can still find some blind boxes at Disney Stores everywhere! Series 3 is based entirely on Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and is chock full of characters we first met on Hoth and Cloud City. The Blot’s especially excited about all the bounty hunters in this set! Star Wars Vinylmation Series 4 is a limited edition release sold blind box style beginning for $12.95 each.

Star Wars Vinylmation Series 4 includes Hoth Luke Skywalker, Hoth Han Solo, Tauntaun, Bespin Leia Organa, Dagobah R2-D2, Snowtrooper, Ugnaught, Bossk, Dengar, 4-Lom and Zuckuss. Rumor has it there are two mystery chasers, a “Wampa Attacked” Hoth Luke Skywalker and a Wampa.

Series 4 looks great, what The Blot is really excited about is the Boba Fett Combo Topper Pack, which includes an ESB Boba Fett with the all white “Prototype” Boba Fett based on the designs by Ralph McQuarrie. This open run release went on sale July 4th and retails for $24.95.

Next up is the Luke and Yoda 2 pack, which includes a full sized Luke 3” Vinylmation figure with a Yoda 1.5” Vinylmaton Jr. figure. Designed by Casey Jones, this set is limited to just 2,000 pieces and retails for $29.95.

Disney is also releasing its second 9” Star Wars Vinylmation figure. The Rancor 9” Star Wars Vinylmation figure from Return of the Jedi includes a 3” Rancor Keeper Vinylmation figure, has a limited edition run size of 1,000 figures and retails for $59.95.

Another Star Wars Vinylmation tie-in release is this Hologram Emperor Palpatine 3” Vinylmation. It is limited to 2,000 pieces and retails for $16.95 each.

Last but not least is the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Vinylmation 2 Pack featuring a Jawa and R5-D4 astromech droid. These 3” figure set is limited to 2,000 pieces and retails for $29.95 per set. Star Wars x Disney Vinylmation Donald Han Solo & Goofy Chewbacca 2 Pack

Disney is already releasing a second Star Wars x Disney Vinylmation Series 2 Pack, which features Disney characters dressed up as heroes and villains from the Star Wars universe! The Blot’s been anxiously awaiting a follow up release to last May’s adorable Chip 'n Dale Ewoks Vinylmation Set. This limited edition 2 pack features Donald Duck as Han Solo and Goofy as Chewbacca. All that’s missing is a Vinylmation scale Millennium Falcon.

The Star Wars x Disney Vinylmation Donald Han Solo and Goofy Chewbacca 2 Pack is limited to 1,500 sets, retails for $29.95 and goes on sale Friday, August 29th at Disneyland, Disney World and DisneyStore.com.

R2-D2 Star Wars Vinylmation Eachez Vinyl Figure

Today (May 15th) at the Rebel Rendezvous event at Walt Disney World, Disney will be releasing the R2-D2 Star Wars Vinylmation Eachez blind box figure designed by Thomas Scott, which is limited to 2,500 pieces. An Eachez release is when Disney releases just one single design blind box style with a very rare chase variant randomly inserted (you can see the chase below). The R2-D2 Star Wars Vinylmation vinyl figure stands 3” tall and will retail for $16.95. The Blot hasn’t heard what the ratio is for this chase variant, but I’d imagine this release will sell out quickly regardless. Happy hunting Star Wars and Vinylmation fans!

Star Wars x Disney Vinylmation Chip & Dale Ewoks 2 Pack

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Disney first released their Star Wars x Disney Vinylmation Series, which featured Disney characters dressed up as heroes and villains from the Star Wars universe! A lot has happened since then, like Disney buying Lucasfilm for one!  Surprisingly, it’s taken this long for Disney to revisit this fun little Vinylmation series.  Last Friday, May 9th, Disney released this adorable Chip 'n Dale Ewoks Set. This limited edition 2 pack features everyone’s favorite chipmunks cosplaying as Ewoks from the planet Endor. Designed by Disney artist Costa Alavezos, the Star Wars x Disney Vinylmation Chip and Dale Ewoks 2 Pack is limited to 1,500 sets and retails for $29.95.

Star Wars Vinylmation Series 3

After almost 9 months Disney is finally bringing back its popular Star Wars Vinylmation Series!!! Series 3 is based entirely on Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and is surprisingly missing some pretty big names from the Star Wars universe like Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2. But if you’re a fan of aliens this is the series for you. Star Wars Vinylmation Series 3 will be a limited edition release sold blind box style beginning on May 17, 2013 for $12.95 each.

Star Wars Vinylmation Series 3 includes Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, Admiral Ackbar, Lando Calrissian in Skiff Guard Disguise, Princess Leia as the bounty hunter Boushh, a Gamorrean Guard, Nien Nunb, the Emperor’s Royal Guard, Ewok Logray, an Imperial Biker Scout, Ewok Wicket and Bib Fortuna. This series has one variant, a maskless Princess Leia as Boushh, and one super rare chaser, the evil Emperor Palpatine.

While Series 3 looks good, what The Blot is really excited about is the window boxed Han Solo in Carbonite 3” Vinylmation figure! Any figure of Han in Carbonite is always a huge fan favorite, so you can only imagine how quickly these awesome figures will fly off store shelves. The Han Solo in Carbonite 3” Star Wars Vinylmation figure has a limited edition run size of 2,000 figures and will retail for $32.95 beginning on June 7, 2013.

But that’s not all! Series 3 also includes Disney’s very first 9” Star Wars Vinylmation figure. The Jabba the Hutt 9” Star Wars Vinylmation figure includes a 1.5” Salacious B. Crumb Vinylmation figure, has a limited edition run size of 1,000 figures and retails for $59.95. This awesome 2 figure set go on sale May 24, 2013.

Star Wars Disney Vinylmation Series 2

This weekend at Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, Disney will finally be releasing the Vinylmation series fans everywhere have been clamoring for…Star Wars Vinylmation Series 2! For its second Star Wars release Disney decided to turn the series upside down and redesign the entire line. From the pictures The Blot's seen so far it looks like they really did a great job with it! I love how the artists utilized the figures’ ears to tell part of the story and set the stage for each figure. My only complaint is how many of the exact same version of these characters included in both Star Wars series.

Star Wars Vinylmation Series 2 features twelve characters from Episode IV: A New Hope, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Obi Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, a X-Wing Pilot, a Tusken Raider, Greedo, Ponba Baba, Muftak and the mystery chaser Garindan. This series will be on sale at all Disney theme parks starting this Friday and will retail for around $15 per blind box.

Disney is also releasing a very special Star Wars Celebration VI exclusive figure this weekend. The exclusive Hologram Princess Leia Star Wars Vinylmation figure has a limited edition run size of 2,500 and will retail for $18.95 at Disney’s Celebration VI booth #331.

Star Wars x Disney Viniylmation Series includes Mickey Mouse as a X-Wing Pilot, Minnie Mouse as Princess Leia, Goofy as Darth Vader, Donald Duck as a Stormtrooper, Pete as Boba Fett and Stitch as Yoda. Each 3” figure in this series will be open edition, sold in a full color window box and will retail for $14.95 each at Disney's online store and at all Disney theme parks.

DCon Exclusive Empire Strikes Back Luke Skywalker Custom Star Wars Vinylmation Figure by Evilos

Evilos is dropping a pretty sweet custom Star Wars Vinylmation figure entitled “NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!” under the Star Rars: Evilos Strikes Back banner at Designer Con 2011 next week. If you can’t tell from the photo, this is a custom Empire Strikes Back Luke Skywalker Vinylmation figure, minus his right hand courtesy of Darth Vader. While the figure is awesome in its own right, what I really love about this release is its custom packaging!

I’m a sucker for custom blister card packaging and Evilos did an amazing job with this one.  From the blister card photo depicting the Vader/Skywalker showdown on Bespin to the perfectly diagramed hole in the top so these could be sold on a j-hook, everything about this blister packaging is perfect. If I had one complaint it would be that the custom’s Mickey Mouse Vinylmation's ears were cut in half so the figure could fit in the blister pack. While I would have preferred for the ears to have remained whole (unless their being cut signified some particular purpose), I’m ok with it because of how cool the blister card packaging is.
