Today, Bottleneck Gallery honors the legacy of sci-fi concept designer, Ralph McQuarrie, with a new series of seven Star Wars prints featuring his iconic concept artwork. As BNG explained, “Ralph was originally commissioned by George Lucas in the ‘70s to create concept work based off of the original Star Wars script in order to better pitch the movie and story to film execs. Ralph’s galaxy-defining concept work became a foundational element for Star Wars, and holds a special place in so many fans’ hearts.”

For this release, Bottleneck Gallery has put together a showcase of seven of Ralph’s Star Wars pieces that deeply resonate with with the BNG team. Today is a big one! Bottleneck Gallery and ISH, in conjunction with Acme Archives, will be releasing this epic Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back movie poster by acclaimed artist Martin Ansin! May the Fourth, the worldwide celebration of all things Star Wars, is almost here, and to celebrate Bottleneck Gallery will be releasing a ton of awesome new Star Wars prints by artists Mark Englert, Pablo Olivera, and Kevin Wilson. Check out Wilson’s beautiful portraits of these masters of the Force – Luke Skywalker, Master Yoda and Lord Vader.

Wow, The Blot was absolutely blown away with this new Star Wars laser cut multi layered screen print “Will he finish what he begins…?” by artist Daniel Danger!!! Produced by Bottleneck Gallery, it is described as an officially licensed laser cut, hand-assembled, multi-layer screen print, framed, ready-to-hang, 3D shadow box for Star Wars”! The image is Danger’s vision of Luke Skywalker’s meeting and training with Yoda on Dagobah from The Empire Strikes Back.

We saw Daniel’s previous shadow box releases and immediately fell in love with the uniqueness and intricacy of the work. Daniel’s experimentation with his art is super admirable, and the results were phenomenal, so we pitched an out-of-this-galaxy idea to him and let him run wild with the Star Wars universe in shadow box form. NYCC 2020 Exclusive Street Wars: Secret of the Jacket Resin Figures by Fatoh x DKE Toys

New York Comic Con 2020 may be canceled, but that doesn’t mean the exclusives have been! For instance, DKE Toys will be revisiting artist Fatoh’s Street Wars universe with three new NYCC 2020 exclusives.  Inspired by Star Wars, the New York Comic Con 2020 Exclusive Street Wars: Secret of the Jacket series includes NY Vader, Masked Yoda and Last Royal.

 

Each Star Wars hand cast and painted 3.75” scale figure comes carded on a full color blister card that is signed and numbered by Fatoh.  Limited to 100 pieces each, these puffy jacket wearing resin figures will retail for $85.

DKE Toys is hosting a live virtual event October 8^th – 11^th in place of the canceled NYCC 2020. Following the success of their SDCC virtual event we bring you #DKECON - NYCC Edition!  The DKE Toys New York Comic Con booth will be set up in the DKE warehouse and available to all via a live continuous Zoom meeting 10am-7pm PST each day except Sunday ending at 5pm.
