2-Faced Mister Melty Vinyl Figure by Buff Monster

This Friday, for the first time ever, Buff Monster will be releasing his popular 2-Faced Mister Melty head complete with a body! What really makes this release special is that while the head is cast in soft Japanese vinyl, the body is made from hand poured resin. This is Buff’s first ever vinyl/resin mixed parts figure! Available painted and unpainted, the painted version features a variety of bright colors and super nice gloss coat.

Each 2-Faced Mister Melty Vinyl Figure stands 3” tall, includes a brand new sticker and comes packaged in a bag with a header. The painted version will retail for $35, while the unpainted version is just $30. Both figures go on sale at 10am EDT tomorrow, Friday, July 3rd, at the Buff Monster online store.

SDCC 15 First Look: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/6 Scale Action Figures by Mondo

At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Mondo made the huge announcement that it would be launching a new line of high end collectible figures. At this year’s SDCC, Mondo takes things to the next level! They will have their epic new line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/6 scale action figures on display at their San Diego Comic-Con 2015 booth #835.

Inspired by the original Eastman and Laird comic book from the 1980s, Leonardo stands approximately 11” tall and features 25+ points of articulation. He will include interchangeable hands, multiple accessories, and a choice of the classic red mask from the comics, or the famous blue mask from the cartoon series. No orders for these TMNT figures will be accepted by Mondo at Comic-Con, with pre-orders opening up at a later date.

Tim Doyle’s “UnReal Estate IV: The Movie” Art Show Opens Tonight at Spoke Art!

Spoke Art is pleased to welcome back gallery Austin artist Tim Doyle for his fourth solo exhibition of his popular on-going “UnReal Estate” screen print series! For this year’s installment, Doyle has tackled all new locations from cinema’s most popular cult classics, re-imagining their locales in his signature style. The Blot is a huge fan of Doyle’s art and I can’t wait to see this entire show. Tim’s been killing it for years now with this UnReal Estate series, and this show will be equally stunning. UnReal Estate IV: The Movie will include fictional locations from popular films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Ghostbusters, Fight Club and so much more!

UnReal Estate IV: The Movie is a complete transformation from previous years, shifting the artist’s focus towards the big screen. Paying homage to some of cinema’s iconic locations, Doyle is able to reconstruct these landscapes in his personal surreal style. One could say that the environments of these movies are just as important as the characters that inhabit them. Doyle has not limited himself to one genre but rather explored a multitude of different films, covering everything from Miyazaki’s inspired Sprited Away to Tarantino’s edgy Pulp Fiction.

“UnReal Estate IV: The Movie” solo art show by Tim Doyle opens tonight, Thursday, July 2nd, at 6pm PDT at the Spoke Art gallery (816 Sutter St. San Francisco CA 94109), and Tim will be in attendance for the opening reception! This amazing show includes ten designs in all, with Doyle creating both original pen and ink drawings as well as hand-pulled screen prints (with accompanying variant editions). As a special treat to all attendees, there will be an exclusive limited edition give-away print, only available to the first 50 people at the opening.

The designer toy world was shocked to learn yesterday that Scott Tolleson would be releasing the very last colorway of his beloved Deadbeet vinyl figure at San Diego Comic-Con 2015! Say it ain’t so Scott!!! For its final release, Scott has cooked up something super special, a beet colored full sized Deadbeet! This unpainted Final Edition Deadbeet is surely going to be extremely sought after by Tolleson fans and ‘beet aficionados alike.

SDCC 15 Exclusive Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single Record by Shirley Walker x Phantom City Creative x Mondo

As a follow up to last year’s huge popular Batman: The Animated Series Single Records, Mondo will be releasing this epic San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Superman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single Record featuring the vinyl record cut in the shape of the Man of Steel’s iconic “S” emblem in classic red vinyl or Kryptonite green vinyl. While the A-Side features four songs, the B-Side (seen above) has been screen printed with Superman’s shield logo. The single’s cover artwork was designed by Phantom City Creative, who also designed the cover for Mondo’s Batman: The Animated Series Die-Cut Single. Collectors can purchase this soundtrack single at the Mondo SDCC booth #835.

Justin Erickson (of Phantom City Creative) explained, “I wanted to make this a companion piece to my packaging design for Batman: The Animated Series. While Batman is darker and more serious, Superman needed to be bright, colorful and energetic to reflect the tonal differences between the two.” This Comic-Con exclusive features the theme music of the inimitable Shirley Walker, whose leadership on this and Batman: The Animated Series set the standard for the music of the DC Comics Animated Universe for decades to come.
