The Black Cauldron Disney Vinylmation Set

2010 marks the 25th anniversary of Disney’s The Black Cauldron, and in honor of the animated film’s silver anniversary Disney will be releasing a limited edition The Black Cauldron Vinylmation 2 figure set. The Black Cauldron Disney Vinylmation set includes a 9" figure of the villainous Horned King with a 3" figure of the Horned King’s loveable sidekick Gurgi.


As a little kid, The Blot loved The Black Cauldron. I can still remember seeing it in the theater when it premiered in 1985 and how excited I was afterwards. Little did I know The Black Cauldron’s was the most expensive animated film ever produced (at that point in time), and was considered a box office flop and an embarrassment to Disney’s animation studio…but guess what? I could have cared less. I loved The Black Cauldron then and I still enjoy watching it today!


The Black Cauldron Disney Vinylmation figures can only be purchased as a set at Disney World and Disneyland theme parks. The 9” Horned King Mickey Mouse and 3” Gurgi Mickey Mouse are limited edition and will probably sell out quickly upon release. While the price is currently unknown, Vinylmation sets such as this one typically retail for around $40.

Japan Expo Exclusive Artoyz x Muttpop Gamma Ray Edition Tequila

The Japan Expo in Paris starts today and Artoyz will be there with the exclusive of all exclusives, the Gamma Ray Edition Tequila vinyl figure from Muttpop. The Blot first saw this all green Tequila at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and now almost a year later this hulking figure will finally be released this weekend as a Japan Expo exclusive.


The Japan Expo Exclusive Gamma Ray Edition Tequila vinyl figure from Artoyz and Muttpop has a limited edition run size of just 30 pieces, making it one of the rarest Muttpop production figures to date! This newest Tequila colorway can be purchased directly from Artoyz this weekend (while supplies last) at its Japan Expo booth BE18 in Hall 5A.

Star Wars x Medicom C-3PO 100% Kubrick with Removable Limbs

Next month Medicom will be releasing a 100% C-3PO Kubrick with removable limbs. Yes, you read that right…removable limbs! While The Blot doesn’t usually blog about single Kubrick figures, this new Star Wars Kubrick from was just too cool to ignore. As a kid I loved my Empire Strikes Back C-3PO action figure with removable limbs, and this Kubrick figure did a great job recreating “special effect.”


The Star Wars x Medicom C-3PO 100% Kubrick with removable limbs comes packaged on a blister card, has a limited edition run size of 1,000 figures and will retail for around $15-20 each. Collectors can expect this 100% Kubrick of everyone’s favorite protocol droid to drop on July 25, 2010.

TRON Legacy One Sheet Movie Posters

Even though TRON Legacy isn’t scheduled to debut until December 2010, Disney’s marketing campaign is already in full gear. I can only imagine what Disney has in store for San Diego Comic-Con, where it’s going to be all TRON all the time. In the meantime, here is the first TRON Legacy international one sheet movie poster featuring the new and improved TRON light cycle. Beneath that is the US theatrical one sheet movie poster, which has been in theaters for a few weeks now.
