SDCC 2017 Exclusive He-Man, Skeletor & She-Ra MOTU Resin Figures by Amanda Visell x Super7

For the third year in a row, Skeletor will be taking over Super7 San Diego during San Diego Comic-Con 2017 and transforming it into his evil lair! This year’s “Skelebration” will be open from Wednesday, July 19th, through Friday, July 21st, and will be the only place to purchase some seriously awesome San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive Masters of the Universe releases, like these fantastic Glow in the Dark He-Man, Glow in the Dark Skeletor and She-Ra Resin Figures by Amanda Visell!

It’s hard to believe Visell originally made these He-Man and Skeletor figures for S7’s inaugural Skeletor’s Lair two years ago. Well now they’re back in a killer Glow in the Dark Edition colorway. This time though, they’re joined by He-Man’s sister, She-Ra! All three San Diego Comic-Con 2017 exclusive resin figures stand 7” tall and come bagged with a header card. Collectors can purchase these Masters of the Universe figures at Super7 San Diego (701 8th Avenue - corner of G Street) for $120 each.

Buck Wethers Dunny 8” Vinyl Figure by Amanda Visell x Kidrobot

Meet the latest Barnyard Beast from the wonderful world of Amanda Visell, Buck Wethers! Buck is 8 inches of ornery goat set to right the wrongs on farms everywhere. He's one critter you definitely won't want to butt heads with. The Buck Wethers 8” Dunny is currently available in two awesome colorways: the gray Barnyard Blue Edition and a Kidrobot exclusive white Country Peach Edition, which is limited to just 250 pieces.

The Buck Wethers Dunny 8” vinyl figure by Amanda Visell comes packaged in a full color box. The standard Barnyard Blue colorway is available now at Entertainment Earth for $69.99 here, while the limited edition Country Peach Edition is available exclusively at the Kidrobot online store for $70.

Kidrobot Exclusive Light Blue Scaredy Labbit by Amanda Visell

Later this month Kidrobot will be releasing the adorably spooky Scaredy Labbit vinyl figure by Amanda Visell! To coincide with that release, KR is also releasing this retailer exclusive “Light Blue” Scaredy Labbit. The Scaredy Labbit is Amanda Visell's take on the goofy, cute and pleasantly off-beat Labbit, and features whimsical ghosts painted on each side.

The Kidrobot Exclusive Light Blue Scaredy Labbit by Amanda Visell stands 10” long and will retail for $75 at Kidrobot.com later this month (Feb 2016).

Scaredy Labbit Vinyl Figure by Amanda Visell x Kidrobot

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost seven years since Kidrobot released Amanda Visell’s first production Labbit, the San Diego Comic-Con 2009 Exclusive Wood Labbit. That’s still one of The Blot’s all-time favorite KR releases. Thankfully Kidrobot is back in the Amanda Visell business, and is set to release this beautiful Scaredy Labbit 10” vinyl figure! I just love how all of Amanda’s production pieces look like they were hand painted in her unique style. Kidrobot always a tremendous job recreating her color palette.

What’s really surprising about the Scaredy Labbit’s release is that even though it’s already available for pre-order in online stores everywhere, Kidrobot still hasn’t announced its impending release. I’m not quite sure what they’re waiting on as it’s supposed to hit stores sometime this month (Feb 2016). Collectors can pre-order this 10” vinyl figure at finer designer toy stores everywhere for $74.99.

Last Days of Autumn Vinyl Figure Set by Amanda Visell x Coarse

Coarse is teaming up with acclaimed artist Amanda Visell to release this super detailed Last Days of Autumn Vinyl Figure Set! This exciting collaboration between Coarse and Amanda Visell explores the power of humans over nature, touching on themes prevalent in both artists' bodies of work. Last Days of Autumn tells the story of the last minutes in the life of a log who surrenders to axe-wielding children.

Coarse will be releasing two colorways of Amanda Visell’s Last Days Of Autumn: The “Shiver” Edition ($384) is limited to 234 pieces and features an icy cold color scheme, while the “Frenzy” Edition ($384) is limited to 345 pieces and sports a color scheme of natural autumn colors. Each set includes the sad log 11.5” vinyl figure and four naive children (standing between 4.5”-6” tall) equipped with axes, along with tree parts and leaves to decorate the threatening scenery.

All pieces in the Last Days of Autumn Vinyl Figure Set by Amanda Visell are individually hand painted, and both editions will go on sale at 9:59am CST on November 3rd at the Coarse online store.

SDCC 15 Exclusive He-Man & Skeletor MOTU Resin Figures by Amanda Visell x Super7

The Blot just can’t get over Super7’s impressive line-up of officially licensed San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Masters of the Universe toys and other related merchandise. Their newest release are these limited edition He-Man and Skeletor resin figures handcrafted by Amanda Visell! Both characters look fantastic in AV’s unique style. Both Masters of the Universe resin figures can only be purchased and the “Skeletor’s Lair” MOTU pop-up shop at Super7 San Diego (701 8th Ave., San Diego, CA 92101) during San Diego Comic-Con 2015.

Each figure will be available in limited quantities all week long and retail for $100. But before you can invade the Lair you’ve got to get your hands on a Skeletoken, which can only be picked up at the Super7 SDCC booth #4945 or the Mattel booth #3029.

Kidrobot’s Upcoming Release Schedule Gets A Little Clearer!

It sounds like the long hiatuses between Kidrobot releases is finally over! A lot has happened to our favorite designer toy company in the past year that caused those long periods of silence, including being sold to NECA and the installation of Frank Kozik as KR’s creative director. Now it seems like every day we see a new teaser for an upcoming release! Those teasers include possibly a new Circus Posterus Dunny series featuring works by Brandt Peters and Kathie Olivas, a new Adventure Time blind box series, a Junko Mizuno 8” Dunny, Scott Tolleson 8” Dunny and the very first production Dunny by WuzOne. But that’s not all!

Yesterday, Entertainment Earth posted a number of previously unannounced Kidrobot figures available for pre-order. While we don’t have any pictures of these exciting releases, the titles alone have The Blot super excited! While it’s not expected to hit store shelves until January 2016, we now know KR will be releasing a production Sketracha 3” Dunny by Sket One!!! It is going to seriously look amazing next to my custom resin Sketracha 8” Dunny. September 2015 brings us a new Tricky Cats blind box mini figure series, while November 2015 will see the release of more South Park mini figures! I can’t wait to find out what the “Many Faces of Cartman” is all about.

In January 2016 Amanda Visell’s long rumored artist blind box mini figure series “Ferals” will be released! If the teaser images hold true, this series will utilize a number of Kidrobot’s different Munny World characters. Last but not least are three artist inspired The Simpsons vinyl figures! Scheduled to also be released in January 2016, Kidrobot will be teaming up with world-renowned artist Ron English to release “Grin” versions of Homer and Bart as 3” vinyl figures. While that may not be something new, this next release is! KR is teaming up with Kenny Scharf to release an all new, medium sized Bart Simpsons vinyl figure inspired by Scharf’s work. This figure sounds like it could be insane! I can’t wait to find out more about all these awesome new Kidrobot releases.

Kidrobot x Sanrio Bad Badtz Maru by Amanda Visell

Playful penguin Badtz Maru gets a bold blue makeover from artist Amanda Visell in this exclusive Kidrobot x Sanrio collaboration. With more than the usual fire in his belly (it’s actually Hello Kitty), this mischievous first grader is clearly content.

Bad Batz is the final figure in the first series of Sanrio characters to be reinterpreted by different artists and produced by KR. Standing 6 inches tall and retailing for $39.95, this flightless fellow is available at Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com and select retailers starting January 13.

“Cowboy” Seahorse and Rider Vinyl Figure by Amanda Visell

The second version of Amanda Visell’s Seahorse and Rider vinyl toy is the Cowboy version (produced by Paradise Toys) and includes a magnetic little girl doing her best cowgirl impression. Which begs the question, why was this toy not called the Cowgirl version? This grey and black Cowboy Seahorse and Rider vinyl figure stands 7 inches tall, has 2 points of articulation and has a limited edition run size of just 100 figures!

The second colorway of Amanda Visell’s Seahorse and Rider vinyl figure is a Lulubell Toys exclusive in the US, with 50 figures available through Lulubell Toys and 50 figures available directly from Paradise Toys in Taipei.

"Under Sea" Seahorse and Rider Vinyl Figure by Amanda Visell

After a series of beautiful custom Seahorse and Rider figures, Amanda Visell is finally releasing a vinyl production piece of her colorful and playful ocean creature. The main version of Amanda’s Seahorse and Rider vinyl toy is the Under Sea version made by Paradise Toys, stands 7 inches tall and has 2 points of articulation. The original colorway of Amanda Visell’s Seahorse and Rider vinyl figure includes a magnetic little girl with a trident, has a limited edition run size of 300 pieces and retails for $75 each.

What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunt Vinyl Figure by Amanda Visell

Amanda Visell’s second self-produced vinyl toy, the What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunt, will finally see its long awaited release this Saturday, August 14th, at its official Toy Release and Partee at Switcheroo. The What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunt is based on a super limited edition wood sculpture of the same name previously created by Amanda. Each Ephunt comes with a baby and 3 plug-ins.


There are four different What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunt colorways (Warrior, Big City, Jamboree & Natural Habitat), with each colorway having its own edition size and price. Currently the Warrior and Big City What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunts are available. Hopefully we’ll find out more information about the final two colorways (Jamboree and Natural Habitat) at Friday night’s release party.


The Warrior What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunt, a blood splattered Switcheroo Exclusive, has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces and retails for $80 each. The Big City What-Did-I-Eat-Ephunt (seen below) has a limited edition run size of 500 pieces and retails for $70.

SDCC Sneak Peek - Kidrobot Dunny Series 2010

Kidrobot had seven different figures from their upcoming Dunny Series 2010 on display at San Diego Comic-Con 2010, and they look even better in 3D than they did as drawings on the previously leaked checklist. Included in the display were designs by MAD, Frank Kozik, Jesse Hernandez, MCA, Triclops, Damarak the Destroyer and Amanda Visell.


Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 2010 drops on August 19, but be on the lookout for news from the designer toy company about Dunny Series 2010 contests, parties and more starting August 1st.

I Am A Girl Resin Figure by Amanda Visell

Amanda Visell has released a brand new resin figure entitled “I Am A Girl,” which she explains tongue firmly planted in cheek as “my sort of kaiju, which seems to be monsters figures made by boys. This is a girl made by a girl, so twice as scary." The Blot really digs Amanda’s version of neo-kaiju, unfortunately at $150 it’s a little out of my price range.


I Am A Girl by Amanda Visell is a 6.5”x4”x1” resin figure sculpted, molded, cast, hand painted, and packaged all in the Switcheroo workshop. There are two versions of the I Am A Girl resin figure: the dark blue Nitelite version has an unknown edition size, while the Frosty version is a hand painted clear resin with a limited edition run size of only 5 figures. Both figures retail for $150 and can be purchased here (although the Frosty I Am A Girl is already sold out).

Death Dragon Resin Figure by Amanda Visell

The Death Dragon by Amanda Visell is a hand painted resin figure with a limited edition of only 25 figures! This is the alter ego of the Birthday Dragon, a hot tamale that will toast you with the blue fires of the underworld.


The Death Dragon is #4 in the sold out zoo trip series. Each figure is approximately 6”x7”x 2.5”, and comes with a death rider girl, skull and signed and numbered matching print. Amanda Visell’s Death Dragon is available now through her online store at Switcheroo.com and retails for $400 each.

Kidrobot Sneak Peek - Dunny Series 2010 Checklist and Ratios

Kidrobot’s next series of 3 inch Dunny series has officially leaked, and it looks killer (if I do say so myself). I know a lot of fans are disappointed that the series is made up heavily of more established artists, but come on! Just look at those ratios…I about jumped out of my chair when I realized some of my favorite designs were going to be so easy to get. Huck’s a 2/25, Amanda Visell’s a 2/25 and Doktor A is 1/25. I thought for sure Kidrobot would make Dok A’s mechtorian figure at least a 1/100.

My only concern at this point is figuring out a way to get my hands on the MAD and Jesse Hernandez Dunnys. Anything MAD is always a must get, and Jesse’s design is sick. The Blot’s also been a huge fan of Sket One’s Ketchup and Mustard custom Dunnys, so to finally see his Ketchup figure released as a production piece is pretty exciting (plus its ratio is 2/25). KR's Dunny Series 2010 is set to be released this summer, more details to come soon.

Tic Toc Apocalypse Mini Figure Series Ratios

Even though Kidrobot’s new mini figure series Tic Toc Apocalypse by Amanda Visell isn’t scheduled to go on sale until April 1st, it sounds like cases of the toys are already popping up in select locations. While this is a tad puzzling, it also means we get an early look at the series’ ratios! The Blot’s also learned (from the picture below) that there are two different colorways of Visell’s Pegaphunt and Poopicorn figures. The only bad news in all of this is that the Bat Fighter Gnome figure’s ratio is 1/54, I guess it won’t be as ease to pull as I had once hoped.

Tic Toc Apocalypse Centaur Chase Figure by Amanda Visell

Kidrobot has already unveiled 11 of the 14 vinyl figures in Amanda Visell’s upcoming Tic Toc Apocalypse mini figure series. Well here’s one more, the Centaur chase vinyl figure! While we still don’t know this series’ ratios, I’m hoping this guy isn’t too hard to get since he looks so damn cool.

Kidrobot - Jackalope Plush by Amanda Visell Sneak Peek

Last week, Kidrobot’s founder Paul Budnitz unveiled a teaser image of Kidrobot’s next plush figure, and it should come as no surprise that it’s another collaboration with Amanda Visell! While a release date hasn’t been announced for Amanda’s upcoming Jackalope plush, The Blot’s got a sinking suspicion it’ll be released at some point in April since April is Amanda Visell month at Kidrobot!


The Blot hasn’t heard a price for KR’s Jackalope plush by Amanda Visell, but I’m guessing it’ll retail for around $30-40 each and will hit stores sometime in late April. More details to come as they become available!
