Artist Eric Tan was asked by Netflix, The Russon Brothers and AGBO Films to design the New York Comic Con 2024 Exclusive commemorative poster for their latest epic film, The Electric State! The film is an adaptation o the 1028 graphic novel by Simon Stalenhag. Although the upcoming science fiction adventure comedy starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt won’t debut util March 14, 2025, you can find out more bout the film during its NYCC panel today (Friday, October 18th) at 4:45pm on the Empire Stage. Beeline Creative has teamed up with artist Eric Tan to release two new San Diego Comic-Con 2024 Exclusive Disney Geeki Tikis Ceramic Mugs based on Pixar’s The Incredibles and Disney’s The Jungle Book!  The San Diego Comic-Con 2024 Exclusive The Incredibles Mr. Incredible 40oz ceramic mug and The Jungle Book Tiki 36oz ceramic mug can be purchased at the Geeki Tikis / Toynk Toys SDCC booth #3849.

As Eric Tan explained, “The 2nd mug I got to collaborate with Beeline Creative on features Mr. Incredible and is inspired by those gigantic Easter Island Moai carvings. Bob has such an iconic ‘mug’ that we thought it would be fun to make the entire mug exactly that!”

“Steamboat Willie” Mickey Mouse Screen Print by Eric Tan x Cyclops Print Works x Disney

Last week, Cyclops Print Works released this fantastic Disney screen print of Mickey Mouse as Steamboat Willie by artist Eric Tan! This fun nostalgic print was released to commemorate Disney’s 100th Anniversary! “Steamboat Willie” opened at Universal’s Colony Theater in New York City on November 18, 1928, while this retro style print made its first public appearance two months ago at a special art event on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland.

“X-Men: Classic” Screen Print by Eric Tan x Bottleneck Gallery x Justin Ishmael

The Blot cannot believe we’re finally getting a new X-Men print by Eric Tan.  His last officially licensed X-Men poster was way back in 2008 – and it’s totally been worth the wait! Thanks to Bottleneck Gallery, Justin Ishmael and Acme Archives Ltd., we’re getting this fantastic new design by Tan featuring the “all-new, all-different X-Men” team that debuted in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975).  This was the first total refresh of the X-Men team, and it really redefined the comic book for a generation. “X-Men: Classic” by Eric Tan is the perfect companion piece to Tan’s first X-Men print, which featured the original X-Men team.

As BNG explained, “We’ve teamed up with ISH and Acme to release Eric’s bold and bright poster for his X-Men dream team. Eric’s design aesthetics always shine strongly in his poster work, and this eXciting layout has our eyes naturally creating ‘X’ shapes as we navigate from character to character. Bottleneck Gallery and Justin Ishmael are teaming up to release this epic new Astro Boy screen print by artist Eric Tan! Alongside ISH, BNG has been steadily working their way through a dream team of artists in its ongoing print series dedicated to Osamu Tezuku’s Astro Boy. Today, BNGxISH are thrilled to release Eric Tan’s ode to the manga and anime legend. 

As Bottleneck Gallery explained, “Eric’s piece appropriately pays homage to movie posters for Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, a movie that Tezuku used for inspiration while creating Astro Boy and the city he resides in, Metro City. D23 Expo Exclusive The Incredibles 2 Concept Art Teaser Movie Poster by Eric Tan

Check out this fantastic new The Incredibles 2 Concept Art Teaser Movie Poster by Eric Tan, which was given away yesterday at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. As Eric explained on Instagram, “The very 1st posters I got to work on at Disney were for the original Incredibles so this feels a bit full-circle for me. I now also feel like an old-timer!” Who isn’t excited about this upcoming Disney*Pixar sequel!?! Some lucky fans were even able to have this poster signed by the film’s direct Brad Bird! The Blot saw Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm even tracked down Eric Tan at Downtown Disney to have him sign his poster as well (seen here). Pretty cool Peter!

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Captain America: The First Avenger Mondo Screen Print Series by Olly Moss, Tyler Stout & Eric Tan

For the first time ever, Mondo will have its very own booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2011! Not only that, but the Austin based company will be releasing six all new Captain America: The First Avenger screen prints by three fan favorites: Olly Moss, Tyler Stout and Eric Tan. Marvel Comics fans may recognize Tyler Stout’s two prints, as the image was first seen as the cover the comic books Captain America: First Vengence issue #4. The other four propaganda style prints by Olly Moss and Eric Tan will be making their debut at SDCC.

Tyler Stout’s Captain America print measures 24″x36″, has a limited edition run size of 650 pieces and will sell for $50. The Stout’s Metallic Variant has a run size of 220 pieces and will retail for $100. Olly Moss’ Captain America Propaganda screen prints measure 18″x24″, have run sizes of 375 pieces, and will retail for $85 per set. Eric Tan’s Captain America Propaganda screen prints measure 18″x24″, have run sizes of 220 pieces, and will cost $80 per set.

There has been no word on when these prints will go on sale at Comic-Con, but I believe they will be made available for purchase at random times throughout San Diego Comic-Con 2011 at Mondo’s SDCC Booth #433. TRON & TRON: Legacy GID Screen Prints by Eric Tan

We’re just 1 day away from the premiere of Disney’s TRON: Legacy in theaters, and to commemorate this hotly anticipated film Mondo will be releasing two beautiful glow in the dark screen prints by artist Eric Tan! Each print in this limited edition series focuses on one of the TRON films, TRON and TRON: Legacy.

Eric Tan spoke with the Los Angeles Times about these prints: “When creating posters for each of the Tron films, what immediately came to mind were the parallels between the two worlds and how it had progressed over the years. Since similar elements such as disks, light cycles, and recognizers exist in both, I thought showing the contrast between new and old was a visually interesting angle to play up"

"Linking the two main characters was something I thought would add to the storytelling and the father/son dynamic between Kevin and Sam Flynn. To me, those films are amazing examples of visual candy, and I hope I was able to capture that in my posters.” (link)
