Star Wars: Episode I, II & III Prequel Screen Print Set by Eric Tan x Bottleneck Gallery
Every story has a starting point, and later today Bottleneck Gallery will take us back to the start of a story that takes place a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away! Episode I, II and III have never looked so good.
Eric Tan’s take on The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith takes us back to everyone’s favorite parts of the Star Wars prequels: cool pod races, massively impressive clone armies clashing with Jedi knights, and the origin of Darth Vader. Each Star Wars Prequel Print measures 12”x36”, features a hand numbered edition of 250 pieces and will retail for $50. Collectors can also purchase a 3 print set with matching numbers for $140. After months of hype, Hasbro’s new upscale and highly detailed Star Wars Black Series is about to hit store shelves! What’s awesome about this new Black Series is it merges the world of mass-market toys with the type of well made, highly collectible figures adult collectors want. The Star Wars Black Series will see 8 figures released throughout 2013, with Wave 1 including X-Wing Pilot Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, an Imperial Sandtrooper and the deadly Darth Maul!
Star Wars Black Series Wave 1 is not scheduled to hit store shelves until August (although reports are these figures begun showing up in select stores this week), you can pre-order the entire 4 figure wave from Entertainment Earth for $79.99 here.

Barneyism of the Week - Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
I can’t believe Robin’s been so upset.
"I can’t believe you threw up
in your Stormtrooper helmet." - Marshall
Eh, I did something worse in it
after the Phantom Menace premiere.

While this week’s episode of HIMYM was kind of lacking in the Barney-ism department, the same can’t be said of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards! Neil Patrick Harris’ surprise appearance was the highlight of the 2010 Oscars, and definitely one of (if not the) most entertaining bits of the show. If you decided not to watch last night’s telecast, here’s a video clip of NPH’s song and dance number to kick off the film industry’s biggest night of the year:
After seeing NPH sing and dance on his third big awards show of the year, it kind of makes you wonder why the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences didn’t just pick Harris to host the awards ceremony over Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. I’ve got a feeling we’ll be seeing the Barnacle hosting the show sometime soon, and you can be sure a ton of Barney/Harold and Kumar jokes will be sure to follow.

Fanboys - New One Sheet Movie Poster
The once promising indie film Fanboys, a movie set in 1998 that tells the story of a group of friends who decide to break into Skywalker Ranch and steal an early print of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace so that a friend suffering from cancer can view the film before his death, has released an all new theatrical one-sheet movie poster that parodies the promo poster for the Judd Apatow comedy, The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

At this point, who knows if the movie will ever actually be released in theaters because its distributer, The Weinstein Company (TWC), has been consistently pushing back its release date for almost two years while trying to change everything about the film. I know Fanboys was close to being released in 2007 before TWC decided they wanted to cut the friend dying from cancer storyline and bring the entire cast back together for some serious re-shoots. When and if we ever get to see the final product is anybody’s guess, but I have read that the film in its original incarnation is every fanboys’ dream.

The film stars Kristen Bell, Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler, Sam Huntington and Chris Marquette and has a sick list of cameos, including Kevin Smith, William Shatner, Seth Rogen, Ethan Suplee and many more familiar faces, including more former Star Wars actors than you shake a stick at. The movie was even blessed by Mr. Star Wars himself, George Lucas, and yet still The Weinstein Company refuses to release the movie. The only promising sign is the release of this new theatrical one-sheet movie poster with a very Yoda-like tag line at the bottom. One would think that if TWC is finally putting some money into marketing the film that they’re going to have to release it eventually, right?

As of now Fanboys, directed by Kyle Newman, is scheduled for a February 6, 2009 release.
