TRON & Tron: Legacy Prints by Ben Harman x Bottleneck Gallery x Disney

Today, Bottleneck Gallery is releasing some awesome new Disney prints, including two epic new posters for TRON and Tron: Legacy by artist Ben Harman! As BNG explained, “Ben continues his exploration of Disney films with one of our longest ongoing print series! This time around, Ben gets sucked into the Grid with two prints for cult classics, Tron and Tron: Legacy. Ben’s prints transport us directly into the lightcycle action and offer a fun comparison point between the two films. TRON and Tron: Legacy by Ben Harman are 12”x36” hand numbered Disney fine art giclee prints. Each is limited to just 150 pieces and retail for $60. TRON Legacy Screen Print by Raid71 x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery is releasing a killer new TRON Legacy movie poster by artist Raid71! AS BNG explained, “Raid’s print for the sequel to the cult classic captures the slick, neon aesthetics of the film and plays off of the layout from Raid’s original Tron print!”

TRON Legacy by Raid71 is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Glow in the Dark Edition is limited to 300 pieces and will retail for $75, while the GID Variant is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $85. There is also a Foil Variant, which is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $85, and an Acrylic Panel Print Variant on a 4mm thick acrylic panel, which is limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $125. TRON & TRON: Legacy Screen Print Set by Martin Ansin

Mondo and Sideshow Collectibles have teamed up once again with Disney to release a new TRON two print set by Martin Ansin. Both movies are glow in the dark and will be sold only as a set. I love how these two TRON prints look in conjunction with the other, but I question why they’re being released now. I can understand its release two summers ago, but now? It’s not like TRON: Legacy did that well. But regardless, Ansin knocked this one out of the park!

"TRON" and “TRON: Legacy” by Martin Ansin are 24”x36” hand numbered screen prints with limited edition run sizes of 390. Each 2 poster set will retail for $90, and will go on sale at the Mondo online store today, Thursday, November 19th, at a random time.

TRON: Legacy Translucence Identity Disc Vinyl Record by Daft Punk

One of The Blot’s favorite days of the year is almost upon us, Record Store Day! This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music and release a ton of limited edition CDs and vinyl records. This year Disney is getting in on the act by releasing this Record Store Day limited edition TRON: Legacy Translucence 10” vinyl record by Daft Punk. What’s cool about Translucence is it comes pressed on a translucent vinyl record, which features the design of a TRON: Legacy Identity Disc and will be available in three colors: blue, orange and yellow.

The TRON: Legacy Translucence limited edition vinyl record features four songs by Daft Punk, three from the TRON: Legacy Soundtrack (“Derezzed,” “TRON Legacy,” and “End of Line”) and a fourth song, “Castor,” which was previously only available on the special edition bonus CD. This Record Store Day exclusive release comes packaged in a clear cellophane wrap and a see through sleeve to allow for visibility of the 10” picture record without having to be opened.

TRON: Legacy Translucence by Daft Punk goes on sale on Record Store Day (a.k.a. April 16th) and will retail for around $15. To find out a participating store near you, click here.

TRON: Legacy Disney Vinylmation Series

While we’ve known for a while Disney would be releasing TRON Vinylmation figures, The Blot had no idea they’d be releasing an entire TRON: Legacy Vinylmation Series! Even better, it’s NOT blind boxed. The TRON: Legacy Vinylmation Series includes a young Kevin Flynn (from the original TRON movie), an older Kevin Flynn (from TRON: Legacy), Sam Flynn, Quorra, Clu, Castor, Jarvis and Rinzler.

While most of the TRON: Legacy Disney Vinylmation Series were designed by Eric Caszett, the two Kevin Flynn figures were designed by Thomas Scott. And how cool does the classic Kevin Flynn figure look? This is definitely a must get for The Blot! All 8 TRON Vinylmation figures go on sale this Friday, March 25th, at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, as well as DisneyStore.com. Each 3” vinyl figure will retail for around $12.

TRON: Legacy Final One Sheet Movie Poster

The Blot’s still holding out hope that I’ll have the chance to see TRON: Legacy tonight before the Mrs. and I head off to Hawaii on our honeymoon. If not, I’ll probably have to wait until 2011. Thankfully I can revel in the image above. Doesn’t it look crazy good?!?! All of the TRON: Legacy one sheet movie posters have looked stunning, much like I assume the film will look in Disney Digital 3D. But as the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score keeps dropping, I’m starting to worry the sequel might be as campy bad as the original. Hopefully Disney didn’t drop the ball a second time.

TRON: Legacy Movie Poster Triptych

TRON: Legacy is almost upon us! The most anticipated film of the winter 2010 movie season will premiere in just two days, and The Blot’s pretty pumped. Unfortunately, due to my impending honeymoon there’s a better than good chance I don’t actually see TRON 2 until 2011. So whatever you do, don’t spoil it for me!

To help you kill time until the film's premiere, here's a triptych of one sheet movie posters featuring the film's cast: Jeff Bridges as the evil Clu; Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn and Olivia Wilde as Quorra; and Jeff Bridges again, this time as Kevin Flynn.

TRON & TRON: Legacy GID Screen Prints by Eric Tan

We’re just 1 day away from the premiere of Disney’s TRON: Legacy in theaters, and to commemorate this hotly anticipated film Mondo will be releasing two beautiful glow in the dark screen prints by artist Eric Tan! Each print in this limited edition series focuses on one of the TRON films, TRON and TRON: Legacy.

Eric Tan spoke with the Los Angeles Times about these prints: “When creating posters for each of the Tron films, what immediately came to mind were the parallels between the two worlds and how it had progressed over the years. Since similar elements such as disks, light cycles, and recognizers exist in both, I thought showing the contrast between new and old was a visually interesting angle to play up"

"Linking the two main characters was something I thought would add to the storytelling and the father/son dynamic between Kevin and Sam Flynn. To me, those films are amazing examples of visual candy, and I hope I was able to capture that in my posters.” (link)

TRON and TRON: Legacy by Eric Tan are 16”x24” hand numbered screen prints with glow in the dark inks. Each print has a limited edition run size of 240 prints and will retail for $40 each. TRON: Legacy Daft Punk 100% Be@rbricks

To coincide with the release of TRON: Legacy and the TRON: Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk, Medicom will be releasing a ton of TRON and Daft Punk figures over the next few months. This includes the just announced TRON: Legacy Daft Punk 100% Be@rbricks, which will be a part of Medicom’s Be@rbrick Series 21.

Each figure will be sold separately blind box style, and feature Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter dressed in the outfits they wear in the film. Be@rbrick Series 21 blind boxes retail for around $10 and will go on sale in December 2010.

TRON Legacy Disney Vinylmation Vinyl Figures Teaser Image

Check out the teaser image Disney released of their upcoming TRON Legacy Disney Vinylmation figures. While Disney released a set of custom, hand painted TRON 9” Vinylmation figures a few weeks back, the two figures above are production figures. No word yet if these are going to be 3” or 9” figures, or where they’ll be available for purchase. Some suggest these will be exclusive to Disney’s new TRON pop-up store in Culver City, CA. Either way, The Blot will be sure to post any new info once it becomes available!

Disney x Medicom TRON: Legacy Daft Punk 100% Kubrick Set

If you didn’t already know, world renowned recording artists Daft Punk wrote and recorded the official soundtrack to the upcoming Disney film, TRON: Legacy. The electronica superstars also have a brief cameo in the movie as, of course, club DJs. To commemorate this monumental collaboration, Medicom Toy has produced a TRON: Legacy Daft Punk 100% Kubrick 2 pack featuring Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter as they appear in the film.

The TRON: Legacy Daft Punk Kubrick set will go on sale sometime in January 2011 and will retail for around $40.  Rumor has it 400% versions of the two figures seen above will also be released sometime soon after.

Marvel Comics TRON: Legacy Variant Covers

Beginning in November, the Marvel Universe celebrates Walt Disney Pictures' 3D high-tech adventure TRON: LEGACY by producing variant covers featuring "TRON-ified" versions of Marvel's biggest heroes. For these variant covers, artists Mark Brooks and Brandon Peterson have re-interpreted Marvel’s big guns, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America and more, in the unique visual style of the TRON universe. Now this is the type of cross promotion synergy The Blot’s been waiting for ever since Disney acquired Marvel back in December of 2009!

ACLU Leading Freedom Forward Screen Print feat Olivia Wilde by Shephard Fairey

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed today, September 15, American Civil Liberties Union Day in honor of the ACLU’s 90th anniversary! To celebrate the 90th anniversary of this important organization and the end of the ACLU’s Leading Freedom Forward fundraising campaign, which brought in $407 million in cash and planned gifts, the ACLU commissioned Obey Giant’s Shephard Fairey to create the poster you see below featuring one of The Blot’s favorite actresses, Olivia Wilde (House, TRON: Legacy). The Leading Freedom Forward campaign was the biggest fundraising campaign in the ACLU’s 90 year history and what better way to memorialize this amazing achievement and milestone than with some equally amazing artwork. Aside from being a super cool actress, Olivia is also an activist and civil libertarian. She said of the ACLU:

I believe we have to judge our society not by how we treat the privileged and the empowered, but by how we treat the silenced, the condemned, the undocumented, and all those whose views and rights are deemed inconvenient. The ACLU works tirelessly to uphold the promise of the Constitution, and I am proud to support their courageous and necessary work. (link)

Disney x Medicom TRON Legacy Clu Kubrick & Be@rbrick Set

Medicom will be releasing two TRON Legacy Kubrick & Be@rbrick 2-packs to commemorate Disney’s release of the film on December 17th. The second Disney x Medicom TRON Legacy Kubrick and Be@rbrick 2-pack features a Clu Kubrick and a Clu’s Lightcycle Be@rbrick.


According to the film’s trailer, Clu looks identical to Kevin Flynn, the star of the original 1982 film, and rightfully so, as both characters are portrayed by Jeff Bridges. I assume Clu is the primary villain of TRON Legacy, and if so, this means the bad guys will now be wearing yellow instead of orange (as it was in the first TRON film).

The TRON Legacy 2-pack will go on sale sometime in October 2010 and will retail for around $30.

Disney x Medicom TRON Legacy Sam Kubrick & Be@rbrick Set

Medicom will be releasing two TRON Legacy Kubrick & Be@rbrick 2-packs to commemorate Disney’s release of the film on December 17th. The first Disney x Medicom TRON Legacy Kubrick and Be@rbrick 2-pack features a Sam Flynn Kubrick and a Sam’s Lightcycle Be@rbrick.


From the previews I’ve seen, it looks like Sam is the star of TRON Legacy and will be following in his father’s footsteps wearing a translucent blue uniform similar (just like dear old dad). The TRON Legacy 2-pack will go on sale sometime in October 2010 and will retail for around $30.

Disney x Medicom TRON Kubrick Set feat Tron & Sark Kubricks

When The Blot said it was going to be all TRON all the time leading up to the TRON Legacy’s December 17th premiere date, I wasn’t kidding! Earlier this week Medicom announced the upcoming release of three all new TRON 2-packs. The first Disney x Medicom TRON 2-pack is an all Kubrick set, which features Tron & Sark as they appeared in the original 1982 film.


The TRON Kubrick 2-pack, which includes a Tron Kubrick and a Sark Kubrick, will go on sale sometime in October 2010 and will retail for around $30.

TRON Be@rbrick SDCC 2010 Exclusive Blister Card Packaging

One of the most anticipated exclusives of San Diego Comic-Con 2010 is the 100% Tron Be@rbrick from Medicom, Disney and Diamond Comics. Everyone seems to be talking about this cute little translucent purple figure, and the recently unveiled blister card packaging is only fueling the hype even more! The Tron Be@rbrick harkens back to the original 1981 Tron release by Tomy, and even the blister packaging has been respectfully revised to resemble that of the original release.


The 100% TRON Be@rbrick is limited to just 1,500 pieces and will retail for around $10-15 each. While these killer vinyl figures will only be available to fans at SDCC, a limited number are currently available for pre-order through Entertainment Earth here for $15.

TRON Legacy One Sheet Movie Posters

Even though TRON Legacy isn’t scheduled to debut until December 2010, Disney’s marketing campaign is already in full gear. I can only imagine what Disney has in store for San Diego Comic-Con, where it’s going to be all TRON all the time. In the meantime, here is the first TRON Legacy international one sheet movie poster featuring the new and improved TRON light cycle. Beneath that is the US theatrical one sheet movie poster, which has been in theaters for a few weeks now.



The Game Has Changed…TRON 2 premieres in theaters on December 17, 2010.

TRON Legacy SDCC 2010 Exclusives from Spin Master

Spin Master was awarded by Disney the master toy license for the upcoming sequel TRON Legacy, and the toy company has some seriously cool products in the works including a new line of 7.5” action figures. While a lot of those tie-ins won’t come out until closer to the film’s Christmas release, Spin Master has two San Diego Comic-Con 2010 exclusives scheduled to whet our appetites!


First up is a special edition TRON Vintage Figure. While the figure’s nice, what’s really cool about the figure is its packaging. The figure comes packaged in a retro TRON arcade cabin, which includes its trademark translucent blue joystick! How cool is that? The figure also has a light-up feature on its base that can be activated in or out of the arcade-style packaging. The TRON Vintage Figure is limited to 1,500 pieces and will retail for $40 at the SDCC TRON booth, which will be jointly run by Spin Master and Disney.


The second SDCC 2010 TRON exclusive is a limited edition die-cast replica of Sam’s Light Cycle from the upcoming TRON Legacy film. There will be 3,000 Light Cycles produced, with the die-cast motorcycle retailing for just $5! This SDCC exclusive will also be available for purchase at the SDCC 2010 TRON booth.

From what I’ve heard there are a ton very cool TRON Legacy tie-ins in the works from a variety of different companies, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled to The Blot Says… in the coming months for all the latest!

TRON Be@rbrick SDCC 2010 Exclusive

Medicom and Diamond are teaming up to release what is sure to be one of the hottest exclusives of San Diego Comic-Con 2010, a 100% TRON Be@rbrick!
