Forces of Dorkness x outsmART originals “Tusken Idol” T-Shirt

Forces of Dorkness x outsmART originals “Tusken Idol” Star Wars x Indiana Jones T-Shirt

Fellow Texan and Star Wars fanatic Forces of Dorkness (aka Scott Kinnebrew) has teamed up with outsmART originals to release a killer new George Lucas inspired t-shirt design. “Tusken Idol” combines Lucas’ two great franchises, Star Wars and Indiana Jones, into one epic tee based on an imaginary film entitled Tusken Raiders of the Lost Ark! This little golden idol comes from the temples of Tatooine deep in the dunes and about as far away from Mos Eisley as one can get. Not only does it have the face of a Tusken Raider, but he's also riding the most loyal of the beasts of the desert, the Bantha.

The “Tusken Idol” t-shirt by Forces of Dorkness is currently available for purchase through outsmART originals’ online store for $20 in sizes S-5XL.

Barneyism of the Week - Booty Town

So, would anyone care to ask me where Nora and I are going tonight?

“Where are you going?” - Kevin

Booty Town, Kevin!

We are finally going to Booty Town.

“And that’s why we don’t ask him.” - Robin

I’m thinking I’m gonna hop on the Long Thigh-land Expressway.

Stop off for a nibble at Breastport.

And then, with any luck, I’ll be pulling into the Pork Authority by midnight.

Barneyism of the Week - The Ewok Line

In 1983 George Lucas introduced the world to the Ewoks,
a race of creatures indigenous to the second moon of Endor.

Now, the Ewoks have a rich back-story that the movie didn’t really go into.

“Barney, why don’t you just skip to the part about you and Norah?” - Ted

Fine…ah, yes…

Ultimately Ewoks split Star Wars fandom into two camps:
Those born before and those born after May 25th, 1973.

The Ewok Line!

Anyone born on this side of the Ewok Line
was at least 10 years old when Jedi came out,
and thus too old for something so cloying and cute.

Anyone born on this side loved the Ewoks because…why?
They reminded you of...?

“Our teddies? - Gina

They reminded you of your teddies, thank you Gina.

And so, by the immutable laws of the Ewok Line
my “29” year old “girl” friend who hates Ewoks
must, in fact, be no younger than 37.

Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II Airs This Sunday

I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that on Sunday night, November 16, at 10:30/9:30c Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim will be airing Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II.

Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II logo
The sequel to last year’s smash hit Robot Chicken: Star Wars is sure to be hilarious as Seth Green, Matt Senreich and the rest of the Robot Chicken crew again focus their sick and twisted sense of humor squarely on the Star Wars universe.

Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode II - Lando Calrissian and Boba FettThere are three teaser clips for Sunday’s episode floating around on YouTube right now, but The Blot refuses to watch or post them here because I really want everything about Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II to be a surprise. I’m really stoked (is that still a word?) Robot Chicken decided to do this again and can’t wait to see what George Lucas lets them get away with this time!

Fanboys - New One Sheet Movie Poster

The once promising indie film Fanboys, a movie set in 1998 that tells the story of a group of friends who decide to break into Skywalker Ranch and steal an early print of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace so that a friend suffering from cancer can view the film before his death, has released an all new theatrical one-sheet movie poster that parodies the promo poster for the Judd Apatow comedy, The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

Fanboys New Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster
At this point, who knows if the movie will ever actually be released in theaters because its distributer, The Weinstein Company (TWC), has been consistently pushing back its release date for almost two years while trying to change everything about the film. I know Fanboys was close to being released in 2007 before TWC decided they wanted to cut the friend dying from cancer storyline and bring the entire cast back together for some serious re-shoots. When and if we ever get to see the final product is anybody’s guess, but I have read that the film in its original incarnation is every fanboys’ dream.

The movie was even blessed by Mr. Star Wars himself, George Lucas, and yet still The Weinstein Company refuses to release the movie. The only promising sign is the release of this new theatrical one-sheet movie poster with a very Yoda-like tag line at the bottom. One would think that if TWC is finally putting some money into marketing the film that they’re going to have to release it eventually, right?

As of now Fanboys, directed by Kyle Newman, is scheduled for a February 6, 2009 release.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Animated Feature Film

The Blot was all excited to talk about Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated feature film debuting in theaters today, but then reviews of the movie started to trickle out from media outlets and around the web. Let’s just put it bluntly, everyone hates it! I can’t tell you how disappointing that news is, but at least it’ll save me from having to take a trip to my local theater and shell out who knows how much money.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano vs. Asajj Ventress Movie PosterI guess now I’ll just wait for the movie's DVD release or its replay on TNT before the start of the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television series. I had some high hopes for this animated movie, but I should have learned by now that any movie associated with George Lucas in this day and age is going to be a disappointment (no matter how much money a movie grosses). It really sucks that his ideas and imagination can’t be translated into movie masterpieces like they once were in the 70’s and 80’s.

Official Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Theatrical One-Sheet Movie Poster

The new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull “payoff” theatrical one-sheet promotional poster has been unveiled at IndianaJones.com. You can download this promo poster and check out previous official Indiana Jones theatrical posters at the site’s downloads page.

You really gotta hand it to Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, they definitely know how to design a movie poster.

Dr. Jones! Dr. Jones!

Nothing gets The Blot more excited about a movie than the name Indiana Jones. How can a movie not be amazing when it combines two of the greatest minds in epic moving making, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford. What pains me to no end is that it took almost 20 years since the last Indiana Jones installment for this movie to be made. I'm sure the special effects will be much better than in the first three movies, but I have to believe something will be missing after the prolonged layoff. If nothing else it probably means less screen time for Ford and more for Indy's son in the movie, Shia LaBeouf.

Here's the official first movie poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull due out May 22, 2008.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I just pray this movie is better than the last time Lucas decided to revisit one of his storied franchises (Star Wars). Thankfully, Spielberg has had a much better track record in recent years for making entertaining movies.

And if you haven't been to Disneyland lately, there's a new ride, Indiana Jones Adventure, that's a must for any Indiana Jones fan. It was by far the best ride I went on in my trip there last week. Whatever you do, don't let the tremendously long line scare you off!
