NYCC 14 Exclusive Panda Edition Dead as F#ck Champ Resin Figure by JC Rivera

Marvel’s Daredevil First Look: Charlie Cox as Daredevil

In The Blot’s opinion, the big reveal at New York Comic Con 2014 was Marvel’s release of two still photos from its upcoming Netflix live action television series, Daredevil. The Blot’s all kinds of excited for Marvel’s new straight to Netflix television shows, and these photos have set the internet ablaze! Daredevil stars Boardwalk Empire’s Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, the Man Without Fear.

As Marvel.com explains, “along with the first image of Cox as Murdock, you can also check out a photo featuring Matt in his first costume, inspired by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr.'s seminal Daredevil: Man Without Fear series, widely considered to be one of the most important and influential Daredevil stories of all time.”

Series Synopsis: Marvel's Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

Batman 75th Anniversary USPS Stamp Set

Last weekend at New York Comic Con 2014, DC Comics and the United States Postal Service unveiled the new Batman 75 stamp set. Showcasing eight unique designs in a pane of 20 stamps, this new release from the U.S. Postal Service celebrates the 75th anniversary of DC Comics’ Dark Knight. This commemorative stamp set includes four versions of the iconic super hero, each from a different era of comic book history. In addition, the sheet includes four circular stamps featuring different incarnations of the Batman logo.

The background illustration features a silhouette of Batman standing on a bridge with the skyline of Gotham City looming above him (designed by art director Greg Breeding). The Batman logo stamps are integrated into the background image and made to look like different versions of the Bat-Signal, the spotlight Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon sent into the night sky to summon Batman. Look for these limited edition 49 cent Forever Stamps to go on sale at USPS retail locations nationwide soon!

NYCC 14 Exclusive Breaking Bad “Vamonos Pest” Jesse Pinkman Action Figure by Mezco Toyz

This weekend at New York Comic Con 2014 Mezco Toyz will be releasing the limited edition Breaking Bad “Vamonos Pest” Jesse Pinkman 6” action figure. Fans have been clamoring for a Jesse to match the previously released “Vamonos Pest” Walter White figure and it’s finally here! Each New York Comic Con 2014 Exclusive Jesse Pinkman action figure comes in a dark grey Vamonos Pest jumpsuit, and is packaged in a deluxe window box with a Vamonos Pest slipcase. After a much too long hiatus, The Jelly Empire is back with some amazing New York Comic Con 2014 exclusives! While everything The Jelly Empire creates is adorable and great, The Blot especially loves this year’s pop culture crossover set with Argonaut Resins. NYCC 14 Exclusive “Evangelioth” Shub Zeroth Vinyl Figure by METACRYPT (Brian Ewing x Hateball)

The Blot’s new favorite Shub Zeroth colorway will be dropping at New York Comic Con 2014, and this is definitely one release not to miss! For the eighth Shub Zeroth release, Metacrypt (a collaboration between Brian Ewing and Hateball) has turned to anime for inspiration. Inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion, the Evangelioth Edition Shub Zeroth was cast in violet soft Japanese vinyl with green and silver lame, and features black, bright green, metallic purple, orange, and silver sprays. Collectors can pick one up at the Lulubell Toys NYCC booth #408 for $125 each.

NYCC 14 Exclusive “Blown Away” Custom Dunny Series 1 by Josh Mayhem

One of the coolest custom Dunnys The Blot’s seen in a very long time was Josh Mayhem’s Blown Away 8” Dunny. Josh is revisiting that design for New York Comic Con 2014 with the release of a new blind box “Blown Away” 3 inch Dunny Series! Blown Away Series 1 takes that original design and modifies it with resin drips and acrylic paints to create a killer windswept appearance. Mayhem has released five colorful UV reactive 3” Blown Away Dunnys with a very special translucent chase variant. Each figure retails for $100 and can be purchased at the Clutter NYCC booth #504.

Andrew Bell’s “Back to Back Black” Toy Release Tour Launches at NYCC 14!

NYCC 14 Exclusive Transformers Print by Marcelo Matere

Acidfree Gallery unveiled its second New York Comic Con 2014 Transformer release, and it’s a pretty awesome print by former Transformers comic book artist Marcelo Matere! Matere’s design features the ultimate Transformers battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. This New York Comic Con 2014 Exclusive Transformers giclee print measures 18”x24” and comes in two hand numbered editions. The Standard Edition is limited to 250 pieces and retails for $50, while the Metallic Variant is limited to 75 pieces and reatils for $60. Both are currently available at the Acidfree Gallery NYCC booth #603. Any remaining prints will be available at the Acidfree Gallery online store after the con.

The second toy from the cult droidsploitation film “Pimp2-D2's Big Score,” C-3P-Ho (aka See-Threepeeho) is a pleasure droid manufactured by Cybot Galactica and has become Pimp2-D2's go-to droid. Based on the characters’ appearances in their iconic 8-bit Nintendo video games, the yellow and orange Freddie and blue and teal Jason look fantastic! NYCC 14 Exclusive Brick Basher Custom Resin Dunnys by Erick Scarecrow

ESC Toy and Erick Scarecrow have too many amazing New York Comic Con 2014 exclusives lined up for The Blot to cover here, but you should definitely stop by their NYCC booth #515 to see them all! One of my favorite ESC Toy NYCC releases is this awesome Super Mario Bros. inspired Brick Basher Custom 3” Dunny Resin Figure. As a lifelong Nintendo fan, I still get excited to see custom designer toys that are inspired by Mario and his brother Lugi. For Brick Basher’s inaugural release, Erick has produced four different colorways: Retro, Fired Up, Snowball and Warhol.

A different Brick Basher Dunny colorway will be released each day of New York Comic Con. On Thursday, October 9th, at 12pm EDT, the “Fired Up” Brick Basher will be released. The Blot’s favorite of the bunch is Erick’s newest creation, Vixion! This awesome new character was inspired by Marvel’s android Avenger, the Vision, and sports Scarecrow's unique style. The “Red Face” Vixion Dunny features Vision’s signature red, yellow and green color scheme. This debonair robot is also available in a “Blue Face” colorway that features blue, red and orange sprays.

The “Red Face” Vixion is limited to just 30 pieces and will go on sale Friday, October 10th, at 11am.
