MAD has set the internet a buzz with the release of these hand painted custom 10” Guardian Mad’ls. I think it’s safe to say MAD’s Guardian character is one of his most popular, and since there’s never been a production Guardian made fans are salivating over this set of 15 custom Guardian Mad’ls. There’s fifteen different colorways in the set, and they all look amazing. The Blot can’t even begin to pick my favorite.

The Frank Kozik X Muttpop collaboration continues! Ocran Ocinatas (Narco Satanico backwards) is the official follow-up to the long sold out El Brujo Narco Satanico Tequila vinyl figure by Frank Kozik. The reverse coloring on this figure was such a great idea, and The Blot just loves the gradient coloring on Tequila’s arms! James Robinson’s New Justice League of America Line-Up Debuts Today

DC Comics unleashes Justice League of America #41 on the world today, and it features an all new line-up handpicked by writer James Robinson. Robinson’s JLA line-up features an interesting mix of new and old members, including JLA stalwarts like Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Green Arrow, The Atom (Ray Palmer) and the female Dr. Light. The team also includes four former New Teen Titans members, Batman (Dick Grayson), Donna Troy, Starfire and Cyborg. Rounding out Robinson’s League is future Legion of Super-Heroes member Mon-El, the Guardian (a long time Superman ally) and Congorilla.

DC Comics- Justice League of America #41 Covers A & B Artwork by Mark Bagley
This moment is bittersweet for The Blot, because if DC had announced this line-up 10 years ago I’d be ecstatic over Robinson writing a JLA team that included four of my favorite Titans. Sadly, it’s come a little too late to evoke any kind of excitement now. This would have been a dream line-up for The Blot as a kid/young adult. Growing up, the New Titans, JLA and the Legion of Super-Heroes were three of my favorite books, but after years of mismanagement I’ve lost interest in all three titles. I have no idea why DC Comics continues to squander the Teen Titans franchise, but they seem incapable of capitalizing on the characters’ mainstream success.

DC Comics - James Robinson's new Justice League of America by Mark Bagley
And don’t even get me started on James Robinson! You see, ten years ago Robinson was my favorite comic book writer. Everything he touched turned to gold, especially his amazing 80 issue run of the Zero Hour spin-off, Starman. But his most recent work gets a colossal “Meh!” from me now. I’ve hated Justice League: Cry For Justice and I'm pretty ambivalent to his Superman stories. The truth is, I’ll pick up #41 because I love the idea that the Titans have finally grown up and are taking their rightful place among the DC Universe elite. It’s just sad Robinson had to have Red Arrow’s arm torn off to make this happen. As any long time Titans fan would agree, Roy Harper, as the first Teen Titan to join the JLA, should be on the team along with his childhood friends instead of Oliver Queen.

Justice League of America #41 by James Robinson and Mark Bagley hits newsstands today, January 27, 2010.

Psych Season 4.5 Premiere and Television Promo Poster

Psych Season 4.5 premieres tonight, Wednesday, January 27th, at 10/9c on the USA Network. If you’ve never seen USA’s current longest running television show, the best way I can describe Psych is that it’s just plain old fun television. The characters are goofy, the jokes are witty, the mysteries are interesting and best of all, it’s got pop culture references galore! Plus, Psych has a weekly Spot the Pineapple Contest that’s actually challenging. The Blot just can't hype this show enough!

Psych Season 4.5 Television Promo Poster - Solving crime is a serious business. Sort of.
And if you’ve never seen Psych before, don’t worry. It’s not a serial bogged down by continuity, it’s one of the few shows on television welcoming to new viewers. And by the way, how cool is the Psych Season 4.5 television promo poster above??? Any serious advertisement featuring its lead characters holding water guns gets an A+ in The Blot’s book!

Join Shawn, television’s best fake psychic, and Gus every Wednesday night on Psych at 10/9c on the USA Network.

Dunny Fatale Series - Catalina Estrada Black Chase Variant Dunny

We’re now just two days away from the release of Kidrobot’s new 3 inch series Dunny Fatale, and news about the blind box series keeps leaking out. The latest update is that there is a second colorway for Catalina Estrada’s Dunny. The Catalina Estrada Chase Variant Dunny has the same design but it’s base color is now black instead of blue. Catalina also designed the beautiful artwork for the packaging of the Dunny Fatale Series.

Dunny Fatale Series - Catalina Estrada Black Chase Variant Dunny
There’s been no word yet on how rare this colorway will be, but the OG colorway’s ratio was only 1/25. Could this be a more rare 2nd colorway like S2009’s Gray Gloomy or a more common 2nd colorway like the French Series’ Tizieu Dunny? I guess only time will tell!

Dunny Fatale Blind Boxes go on sale this Thursday, January 28th and will retail for $7.96 per box.

We’re just two days away from the release of Kidrobot’s new Dunny Fatale 3” Blind Box Series and The Blot is getting pretty excited! To help fuel fans’ excitement, Kidrobot has finally released the official Dunny Fatale Series Checklist and Ratios. It looks like The Baroness’ Kiss of Death Dunny is in fact 1/200, which kind of sucks, but there are so many other amazing designs in the Dunny Fatale Series I’ll let The Baroness’ unfortunate ratio slide.

Kidrobot - Oil Slick 8 Inch Dunny Set by Skwak
The long rumored 8 inch Dunny by French artist SKWAK is almost here! Strike it rich with these eye-popping, super limited Dunnys from Skwak. Sporting a maniacal grin and clutching two cans of liquid fortune, the Oil Slick Dunny is covered nearly head to toe in a healthy splattering of the crude stuff. Just don’t let him drink your milkshake!

Kidrobot - Gold Edition Oil Slick 8 Inch Dunny by Skwak
The Gold Edition Oil Slick Dunny will be available only at Kidrobot stores and select retailers, while the Oil Edition Oil Slick Dunny will be available exclusively at Kidrobot.com. Only 500 of each edition will be produced. Ultimately what this means for most collectors around the world is that to own a complete set of Oil Slick Dunnys we’ll have to pay for shipping twice. UGH!!! But The Blot is a sucker for clear vinyl, so I must have both of these awesome looking figures.

Dunny Fatale Kiss of Death Dunny by The Baroness

News of the Toy Baroness’ departure from Kidrobot two weeks ago came as a huge shocker to vinyl collectors around the globe. The Blot only got to meet Nichole East a few times and she was always super friendly, nice and helpful. She will definitely be missed! As a going away present after six years of service, Kidrobot has included a Dunny designed by her in its upcoming Dunny Fatale 3 Inch Series. Until recently, details of the Baroness’ new Dunny have been kept top secret, but thankfully we now know its name, the Kiss of Death Dunny, and what it looks like!

Dunny Fatale Series - 3 Inch Kiss of Death Dunny by The Baroness
The Kiss of Death Dunny by The Baroness is rumored to be the rarest figure in the Dunny Fatale Series with a ratio of 1/200, but that is not confirmed yet. What is confirmed is that the Toy Baroness will be putting her Kiss of Death APs up for sale this Thursday, January 28th at 9am EST in a limited edition Dunny Fatale Artist Proof Box Set at her new Baroness Loves online store. Each set will retail for $150 each! This will definitely be the easiest way for collectors to ensure they get their hands on what will likely be the most sought after Dunny in KR’s upcoming 3” series.

Dunny Fatale Artist Proof Box Set by The Baroness
While The Blot’s not sure exactly sure what will be included in the Dunny Fatale Artist Proof Box Set, a similar box set went on sale last Saturday. The Baroness Dunny Artist Proof Pink Box Set, which sold out in a matter of hours, retailed for $75 and included the extremely rare Baroness Dunny from 2006 that was never available for sale.

Dunny Fatale Artist Proof Box Set by The Baroness
The now sold out Baroness Dunny AP box set included a signed dunny, metallic pink envelope holding a numbered black metal card laser etched on both sides, an acrylic display stand for the metal card, two 1” buttons and a 4” Kiss vinyl sticker. That is a ton of amazing stuff for just $75, and I’ve got a feeling the Baroness’ Dunny Fatale Box Set will be equally as good.
