Black Root Beet by Scott Tolleson

As we get closer and closer to Thanksgiving it means we’re also getting closer and closer to The Blot’s favorite holiday…Black Friday! As always there will be some killer Black Friday toy releases and the first announcement comes from the Argyle Warrior Scott Tolleson!!! For his third Deadbeet colorway Scott has teamed up with Nebulon5 who painted these beautiful Black Friday 2012 Exclusive Black Root Beets. This sick colorway features a purple, black and red color scheme on translucent red soft Japanese vinyl. You can see the original color of the vinyl in the Black Root Beets’ eyes, and if you shine light through the figure’s backside the eyes actually glow!

The Black Root Beet by Scott Tolleson goes on sale Friday, November 23rd, at 10am PST. It has a limited edition run size of 10 pieces, comes bagged with a header card and will retail for $120 each. Pick one up next week at Scott Tolleson’s online store!

Freddy Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure

Funko fans were given an extra special treat at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 when Funko unveiled the Freddy Funko Pop vinyl figure! Freddy is Funko’s popular mascot and fans have been wondering since the Pop toy line started if we’d ever see a true Freddy figure. For the past few years Funko has released “Freddy” versions of previously released figures at Funko Fundays (which takes place at SDCC each year), where they replace a popular character's standard head with that of Freddy. Then at Fundays 2012 Funko dropped the figure we’ve all been waiting for, an official Freddy Pop!

If you’re wondering why The Blot is a little slow to blog about this one, I was waiting to see if the figure would get a wider release. Unfortunately, it looks like this one is pretty rare and your best bet is heading over to Gemini Collectibles where you can purchase the “Red Tie” Freddy Funko Pop! vinyl figure for around $100. At that price it’s unlike The Blot will be adding one to his collection any time soon. 

To date there have been four official Freddy Funko Pop! colorways release, and we have a picture of all four thanks to Funko Funatic board member Justicewarrior88! There’s the “Blue Tie” Freddy Funko with a limited edition run size of 500 pieces, the San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive “Red Tie” Freddy Funko with a limited edition run size of 96 pieces, the Fundays 2012 Exclusive Black and White Freddy Funko with a limited edition run size of just 48 pieces, and the 2012 Funatic Days Out Pink Hair Freddy limited to 96 pieces.

TRU Exclusive The Walking Dead Comic Book Minimates Glenn & Shane

Along with the standard The Walking Dead Minimates Comic Book Series 1 release, which you can find in comic book stores worldwide, Toys R Us is also releasing two TRU Exclusive The Walking Dead Minimates 2 packs: Shane with Punk Zombie, and Glenn with Nerd Zombie. The Blot was wondering why Glenn and Shane weren’t mentioned as part of either upcoming TWD Minimates Series even though pictures of the figures have been on the internet since SDCC 2012. Now we know these two popular characters can only be purchase at Toys R Us!

Each Toys R Us Exclusive The Walking Dead Minimates Set features two figures, includes all of the accessories seen here and comes packaged in a full color blistercard. Each set can be purchased at Toys R Us and ToysRUs.com for around $8.

Reservoir Dogs Screen Print by Tyler Stout

Later today Mondo will be releasing the remaining prints (as well as the previously unreleased bloody variant) of Tyler Stout's Reservoir Dogs screen print!!! This print was originally released in conjunction with Mondo’s screening of the film in honor of Reservoir Dogs' 20th Anniversary last month in LA and was given out to everyone in attendance. This is the first time the print has been available to the public and you know people are going to go crazy of this insane print. Stout is a master and his Tarantino prints are always top notch. Expect this print to sell out in seconds.

Reservoir Dogs by Tyler Stout is a 36”x24” hand numbered screen print with metallic inks. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 700 pieces and will retail for $60, while the Bloody Variant has a limited edition run size of 280 prints and will retail for $110. Both versions go on sale via the Mondo online store today, Thursday, November 15th, at a random time.

The Hundreds x Benny Gold Collection

San Francisco indie clothing designer Benny Gold has teamed up with The Hundreds to produce a very special collection entitled “Benny Gold for The Hundreds.” The Blot was pretty surprised when I heard of this pairing but it totally makes sense!  What better way to pay tribute the beautiful city of San Francisco than by bringing together two of California's hottest indie clothing brands?  The collection includes a pretty sweet pair of Johnson Low sneakers and two t-shirts commemorating the great city of San Francisco and its unofficial ambassador, the Golden Gate Bridge. The front of the shirt features a graphic of the iconic bridge fused together with the Hundreds’ mascot Adam Bomb, with “Benny Gold for The Hundreds” and “Celebrating the 75th Birthday of the Golden Gate Bridge” printed below it.

The Hundreds x Benny Gold Collection is now available for purchase at The Hundreds online store and the Benny Gold online store. The sneakers retail for $90 and come in sizes 8, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 11, 12. The Hundreds x Benny Gold t-shirt retails for $34 and comes in two colors (black or grey) in sizes S-XXL. Dog 8” Custom Apocalypse Dunny by Huck Gee

Yesterday Huck Gee released a custom 8” version of his popular Apocalypse Dunny. Named Dog, this dangerous road warrior is ready to kick ass and…well, that’s it really. Each handmade custom Dog vinyl figure comes signed and numbered by Huck, and includes all of the accessories seen here (including that awesome Skullhead belt). Huck has only made 10 Dog Dunnys, each retailing for $800 (3” Dunny is not included). While I assume these are all sold out, anyone interested should email Huck ASAP at sales@huckgee.com.

Optimus Prime Transformers Screen Print by Kevin Tong

Acidfree Gallery’s Hasbro Screen Print Series continues to impress!!! On Friday, November 16th, Acidfree Gallery is releasing this killer Optimus Prime Transformers screen print by Kevin Tong! Not only that, but they’re releasing three different editions of the print enabling everyone that wants one to add this amazing print to their collection. You really can’t beat that!

The first colorway is a 6 color, 16”x24” timed release edition. The print will sell for 24 hours and the edition number will be based on the number of prints sold within that period. These pieces will retail for just $40, and go on sale at 12:30pm EST on November 16th. The second colorway is 24”x36” screen print that has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces. This version has slightly different coloring than the timed release and will include beautiful metallic inks. This version also goes on sale on November 16th, but at random time.

Last but not least is the ultra limited Optimus Prime Variant which is a 24”x36” 6 color screen print featuring standard, metallic and glow in the dark inks! This crazy looking print has a limited edition run size of just 50 pieces and will retail for $100 at a random time on November 16th. All three versions will be sold at the Acidfree Gallery online store and the two limited edition versions will include a trading card certificate of authenticity that comes signed and numbered by the artist (the timed version will only come numbered).
