Masters of the Universe Painted Retro Action Figures by Super7

Get excited He-Man fans! Super7 has announced the official release of their hotly anticipated fully painted (in color this time) Masters of the Universe Retro Action Figures!!! After two super limited convention exclusive releases, the MOTU Retro Action Figure toy line is finally getting a wider release that all of us will have an opportunity to purchase. Not only that, but each figure’s backing card features full color artwork by one of The Blot’s favorite artists, Jason Edmiston!

The Masters of the Universe Retro Action Figure Series 1 includes He-Man, Skeletor, Mer-Man and Beastman. Each figure stands 3.75" tall, includes a character specific weapon accessory and comes packaged on a full color blister card. Interestingly enough, each character was hand-sculpted by the head of the Kenner sculpting department from the 1970s-1980s to match the feel of action figures from that golden age of toys. All four figures are currently available for pre-order at the Super7 online store for $14.99 each or $59.96 as a full four piece set.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Screen Print by Gerhard & Dark Hall Mansion

One of The Blot’s all time favorite comic book series is Cerebus by Dave Sim and Gerhard. So The Blot was seriously blown away by the announcement yesterday that Dark Hall Mansion had teamed up with acclaimed Canadian illustrator Gerhard on a new movie poster screen print for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone!!! Gerhard's meticulous crosshatching technique constantly blows me away, and I love how he beautifully illustrated the moment when Harry, Ron, Hermione and their fellow first year students initially approach Hogwarts.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by Gerhard is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. It will be available in a blue Standard Edition for $65 and a grey Variant Edition for $100. DHM is also releasing Foil Variants of both the blue and grey editions for $150 each. All four prints are timed edition and are available for purchase at the Dark Hall Mansion online store from now through Sunday, February 28th, at 11:59pm PST. Each edition’s run size will be set by the number of orders placed during this select ordering window.

Nakatomi and Tim Doyle have launched a brand new Kickstarter campaign to crowd fund the production of their newest project, UnReal Estate: The Book! This deluxe, full-color 144 page hardcover book will include every single image from the first three years of Doyle’s super popular UnReal Estate screen print series, along with photos, sketches, and essays from artists like Josh Budich, Tracie Ching, Godmachine, and many more. Each print from Tim’s sold out gallery shows is presented full page (and some even double page spread) so readers can fully appreciate all of the amazing details Doyle includes in each design.
