Spiritus Dea Dunny Blind Box Series by Kidrobot

Spiritus Dea – “spirit of the goddess” in Latin – marks the second Dunny mini series to feature a line-up of all female artists! Each artist channels a specific goddess into the 3” Dunny form, spanning vastly different cultures, times and theologies… all with one common calling: the rebirth of justice. Worshipped for both creation and destruction, protection and war, chaos and fate, and even life and death, the goddesses in Spiritus Dea maintain essential roles within the greater celestial world. The cultural stretch of these heavenly beings strikes harmony with their combined powers and reach, creating a Dunny series to be revered. Fans can now purchase a four pack of Spiritus Dea Series blind boxes at Entertainment Earth for $47.99 here.

The Blot was pretty excited to learn Kidrobot was teaming up with 64Colors again to release a beautiful new 8” Dunny! Meet Good 4 Nothing, a daydreamer, ne’er-do-well, lazy, irresponsible, loafer, maker of nothing, doer of little. Life’s too short with both good luck and bad. Too much pressure and expectations for sure. So I’ll roll like a tumbleweed... taking my sweet time keeping my stress level low rolling on slow. Relax and join me if you wish and be totally carefree. I may be Good 4 Nothing to some but, what I’m doing may be Good 4 Me.

Supermagical 8” Dunny by 64 Colors

Kidrobot - Supermagical 8” Dunny by 64 Colors

Wow, it’s truly amazing that the same company that announced those lame Kidrobot Mascot figures earlier this week can turn around and unveil this masterpiece yesterday! Inspired by myth and folklore, supernatural events and walks in the woods behind their studio, 64 Colors weaves together tales both real and imagined to create the Supermagical 8 inch Dunny. Supermagical is a strikingly beautiful but merciless sentinel of the forest…The Blot just hopes Kidrobot’s QC can live up to 64 Colors’ amazing designs.

Kidrobot - Supermagical 8” Dunny by 64 Colors

I roam the forest keeping a watchful eye for those who disrespect that which is sacred and in decline. Beware and do not destroy, or I will descent upon you with a mighty fury and vengeance that is swift and absolute.

Featuring a uniquely sculpted head with branched ear, intricate matte painted details, and captivating watchful eyes, the Supermagical 8” Dunny keeps watch and protects the animated acorns, the dancing leaves, and the mystical mushrooms of the forest. As long as she is on guard, the woods are alive with mysterious life forms and energy. Supermagical by 64 Colors has a limited edition run size of 1,200 pieces, will retail for $75 and goes on sale February 23rd at Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com and select retailers worldwide.

First Look: Dunny Series 2011

First Look - Dunny Series 2011 Checklist and Ratios

In case you haven’t seen this yet, here’s the first leak of Kidrobot’s upcoming Dunny Series 2011 (with ratios included). The Blot’s REALLY excited about this series because Kidrobot has included a number of designs by popular artists from the designer toy community who have never had a figure produced by KR before. There are so many artists who create truly amazing work in our toy community, and it’s great to finally see some of those names included in a Dunny series. The visibility and notoriety an artist receives through their inclusion in a Dunny series is unrivaled, and I’m glad so many new artists are getting the opportunity to share their work with the world.

From the small photo above, I’ve been able to make out designs by DrilOne, Squink, Le Merde, 64 Colors, Travis Lampe and Besto. I am also pretty sure two of the Dunnys on the bottom row were designed by MAD and the Dunnys in the bottom right corner were designed by Huck Gee. Who else can you spot in the leaked photo above???

Skeleton Custom Marshall Vinyl Figures by Leecifer

The amazing custom in Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Marshall Blind Box Series is by California artist Leecifer. The Blot’s a huge fan of Lee’s work, especially his many Batman and pop culture inspired custom figures (definitely check out his awesome hand painted Super7 Mummy Boys!). If you’ve never seen Leecifer’s work, then I definitely suggest checking out his art at Flickr here. Leecifer contributed four Skeleton Marshalls to Tenacious Toys’ Marshall Custom Series, three like the figure you see below and one mystery color variant.

Kabuki Custom Marshall Vinyl Figures by Zam

Zam is the creator behind the newest custom figure in Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Marshall Blind Box Series! Not only does Zam run Genuine Artikle on Long Island, NY, but he’s also a killer tattoo artist and an accomplished toy customizer. His Kabuki inspired custom figures look awesome, and I especailly like the way he transformed each Marshall's head. From the few pics I’ve seen the paintjobs look extremely tight! Zam created 4 custom Marshalls for Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Series, including one secret variant.

LYS0L (a.k.a. Brian Ahlbeck) is the creator behind the next stellar custom in Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Marshall Blind Box Series. Oil Mongers Custom Marshall Vinyl Figures by Den Ramos

Tenacious Toys Marshall Blind Box Custom Series - Oil Monger Marshall by Den Ramos
The next amazing custom in Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Marshall Blind Box Series was recently unveiled and it comes from Den Ramos. Den started creating his custom Marshalls right after the BP oil spill, which inspired him to make these Oil Mongers custom figures. Den did a crazy job sculpting his four Marshalls for this series and they turned out great! There are three Tarball Brown Oil Mongers and one super rare chase BP Green Oil Monger.

Nuggs Custom Marshall Vinyl Figures by Ian Ziobrowski

Ian Ziobrowski is the creator behind the next killer custom in Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Marshall Blind Box Series, and it’s a custom Marshall of Ian’s signature character, Nuggs! Ian has produced Nuggs customs in a variety of different platforms over the years, which is one of the reasons The Blot likes these customs so much. I love it when an artist takes their marquee character and reproduces him in a variety of different forms.

Tenacious Toys Marshall Blind Box Custom Series - Sketchbot Marshalls by Steve Talkowski
The Blot was pretty excited to find out Steve Talkowski had included three custom Sketchbot Marshalls in Tenacious Toys’ upcoming Custom Marshall Blind Box Series to coincide with the three colorways of his Sketchbot figure. I’m a huge fan of the Sketchbot design, and Talkowski did a great job taking the figure’s key elements and applying them to the Marshall platform. These custom figures would look excellent next to the Sketchbot in your collection, so be sure to try your luck by buying a blind box when the series drops.

From the upcoming Tenacious Toys Marshall Blind Box Custom Series comes four angry looking Tiki Marshalls by Nemo. The artwork on these is incredible, and each Tiki Marshall actually looks like it was hand crafted from wood! But what The Blot really loves about these custom figures by Nemo is the center figure’s sculpted head, which really makes the figure come to life.
