The HOLE in the Middle, a brand new children’s book by Kidrobot found Paul Budnitz and illustrated by Aya Kakeda, was released last week published by Hyperion Press. To celebrate its release, Paul and Aya will be at Kidrobot New York on June 23rd for an exclusive signing of an extra special bundle that includes the book and a super limited 3 inch Dunny designed by Aya. The festivities will take place from 6-8pm and coincide with the trading party for the new Dunny Series 2011. This extra special The HOLE in the Middle Book and 3” Dunny bundle will cost $40.00 and will also be available June 23rd at all Kidrobot stores and Kidrobot.com. For those of you interested in finding out more about the book, creator Paul Budnitz explains “this is a story about electric guitars, strawberry cake, loneliness, and togetherness. It’s about a boy who felt empty inside, and how he became a good friend and made himself whole again. The HOLE in the Middle has incredible art by Aya Kakeda, and is appropriate for children of all ages (and also for adults who are never quite satisfied with the way things are!).”

Kidrobot 2Tone Dunny Series Checklist & Ratios

Besides a few “leaked” photos, Kidrobot has been completely silent about today’s release of its newest 3” Dunny blind box series, the 2Tone Series. With that being said, you'd have to be living under a rock to not know that the series dropped today in extremely limited quantities! If you’re hoping to pick up a few blind boxes or even a case (which includes 16 blind boxes), you’d better act quickly as these are selling out everywhere and it’s only 9am.

Kidrobot 2Tone Dunny Series Checklist & Ratios
Since Kidrobot has still not made an official announcement about its 2Tone Dunny Series, The Blot thought I’d throw together a crude little checklist for all the collectors out there. The Blot’s 2Tone Checklist includes every design in the series and its official ratio as stated on the series' packaging. Thanks to Neon Monster for most of the photos above!!!

Kidrobot’s 2Tone Dunny Series is available now for $9.95 per blind box at Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com and select retailers worldwide. There are 14 figures in the 2Tone Dunny Series, which includes designs by Huck Gee, Gary Baseman, Doktor A, Angry Woebots, Aya Kakeda, Pon, Chuckboy, Tad Carpenter, Steven Harrington, Chuckboy, Ryan Bubnis, Aaron Meshon, Maxx242, and mcbess.

Dunny Series 2010 Mystery Chase Figures Official Photos

Kidrobot finally released official photos for its Dunny Series 2010 mystery chase figures. A Dunny series wouldn’t be complete without those unknown, rarely found chases, and this series is no exception!

First up is Frank Kozik’s mystery chase figure, which is an old timey design inspired by the Great Depression. While the ratio of the $5,000 Gold Apple Dunny is still unknown, we do know it is much rarer than its 5¢ Green Apple Dunny counterpart which has a ratio of 3 in 200.

The mystery design by Aya Kakeda is one of The Blot’s favorite figures from Series 2010. Besides being incredibly adorable, Aya’s Centaur Dunny is also one of the rarest Series 2010 figures with a ratio of 1 in 400. Good luck hunting down this 4 legged mythological creature!

Last but not least is Damarak the Destroyer’s super rare alternative clear green and pink colorway design. I don’t know if it’s because the mystery chase is rarer than the standard clear black and red Damarak the Destroyer Dunny or just because I’m a sucker for pink vinyl toys, but I really like this alternative color scheme. Too bad it’s almost as hard to get as the two designs above!

If you’re a completist, then you’re probably looking for one of the three figures above (along with either Jesse Hernandez’ Bat God Dunny or The Beast Brothers’ Techno Viking Dunny) to complete your Dunny Series 2010. If so, best of luck and keep buying those blind boxes!

Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 2010 blind boxes are currently on sale at Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com and retail stores worldwide for $7.95 each.

FIRST LOOK: Rare Aya Kakeda Centaur Dunny from Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 2010

Thanks to Rotofugi, we now have our very first look at Aya Kakeda’s Dunny Series 2010 design, and it looks awesome! Aya’s Centaur design is a standard Dunny with an accessory of two back legs which attaches from behind. While the figure looks great, with a ratio of 1/400 very few of us will be able to add it to our collections. Expect to pay some big bucks if you’re not able to pull this four legged Dunny from a blind box.

Each Kidrobot’s 3” Dunny Series 2010 blind box retails for $7.95, and goes on sale today at all Kidrobot locations, Kidrobot.com, and stores worldwide. If you’d like to try and attend an official Dunny Series 2010, check out the list of participating stores here. And you can print out the official Kidrobot Dunny Series 2010 Collector's Checklist seen below to keep track of your pulls and needs.
