Violet Soda Lady 8” Dunny by Junko Mizuno x Kidrobot

Kidrobot is excited to announce the official release of Junko Mizuno’s newest production 8” Dunny, the Violet Soda Lady! Following the sold out release of the convention exclusive Berry Chocolate Lady 8” Dunny at San Diego Comic-Con (seen here), Kidrobot will be dropping its companion piece next Friday, July 31st, at Kidrobot.com, Kidrobot retail locations and select retailers worldwide for $100. That same day Junko Mizuno will be holding a very special signing at Kidrobot San Francisco from 6-9pm where fans can get their Violet Soda Lady Dunnys signed by its designer!

As Junko Mizuno explained “The Purple Soda Girl Dunny that I designed in 2012 was very hard to create, so I'm really happy and excited that her big sisters, Violet Soda Lady and Berry Chocolate Lady, are coming out! I hope they will find a lot of happy owners! I think of my Purple Soda Girl Dunny from 2012 as a daughter of Kuro Megami that I designed for Kidrobot Black Series. When I designed her, I was using the photos I took of old god and goddess statues at Asian Art Museum as reference. So Kuro Megami is kind of like a goddess representing my art. Purple Soda Girl and the two new 8” Dunnys are all her daughters who have the same goddess-like feeling.”

One of the worst kept secrets around is that Kidrobot is finally producing an 8” version of Junko Mizuno’s immensely popular Purple Soda Lady Dunny (from Dunny Series 2012)! What we didn’t all know is the character would be getting two new colorways, including one released exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2015!!! We finally made it! Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 2012 drops today and I know everyone’s excited to get their hands on a few blind boxes and/or cases. Before you head out to your local DS2012 trading party, be sure you print out the official checklist and ratios provided by Kidrobot. This is a fantastic series, and everyone involved should really be proud. Now, if only I could get my hands on a certain bright pink Dunny!

UPDATE: The Final Version of Sucklord’s Gay Empire Dunny Series 2012 Case Incentive!

While Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 2012 won’t be officially released until Thursday, collectors all around the globe have already gotten their hands on cases. The Kidrobot message boards are blowing up with case layouts and pictures of every figure in the series, including The Sucklord’s Gay Empire Case Incentive Dunny! After seeing the concept art for this design a few days ago The Blot was excited, but after seeing the final product I’m desperate to get my hands on one! This figure seriously turned out even better than I had anticipated, and I can’t wait to see one in person at Domy Books’ official DS2012 trading party on Thursday night.

Red Chase Mahākāla 3” Dunny by Andrew Bell - Dunny Series 2012

Thanks to some flippers who have already gotten their hands on some cases of Kidrobot’s upcoming Dunny Series 2012, we now have a pretty good picture of the red chase colorway of Andrew Bell’s awesome looking Mahākāla 3” Dunny. This figure turned out amazing and with a matching 8” Dunny coming at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 you know this red chase is going to be highly sought after. Good luck finding one, because the rumor is this version will be extremely rare.

The Sucklord Dunny Series 2012 Case Incentive Dunny

Late last week Clutter Magazine posted the first leaked image of the upcoming Sucklord case incentive 3” Dunny for Kidrobot’s new Dunny Series 2012! I hope this really is what The Sucklord’s first official Dunny will look like because I love the Star Wars bootleg feel of the design. A pink bootleg Vader head on a Stormtrooper-esque body; what more could you ask for!?! If this is legit, which I have every belief that it is, The Sucklord’s case incentive Dunny is a must get for The Blot! Hopefully someone buying a case or two will be willing to part with one.

First Look: Jon-Paul Kaiser's Dunny Series 2012 Mystery Design

Thanks to myplasticheart, we now have our very first look at Jon-Paul Kaiser’s design in Kidrobot’s upcoming Dunny Series 2012. So, what do you think!?! And thanks to Spanky Stokes, we also know there are actually four different colorways of JPK’s design in DS2012, including White, Red, Blue (possibly GID) and Green GID. The Blot is absolutely in love with this figure, and with four different colorways this is definitely going to be one of the series’ most sought after designs.

Kidrobot's Dunny Series 2012 Full Reveal!

Kidrobot has given us the full reveal of its upcoming Dunny Series 2012 and man does it look incredible! For the past few months KR has done a great job pushing its Dunny platform in directions with both its 8” and special 3” releases. But this is the first time I’ve seen a full artist series with this many unique sculpts and accessories. I have to give Kidrobot’s it’s due…I’ve been asking for more from their Dunny releases and with Series 2012 they deliver! Plus there’s a freaking Sucklord Dunny!

Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 2012 features 20 designs by 14 artists, including seasoned Dunny masters mixed in with some fresh blood. Leaked: Dunny Series 2012 Checklist & Ratios

Yesterday, the world of designer art toys got its very first look at Kidrobot’s upcoming Dunny Series 2012!!! Thanks to Spanky Stokes and Trampt for the image above! Whenever a leak of this magnitude happens it seems to really get collectors talking, and all in all it seems like fans are really happy with the artist line-up and their designs. The Blot is especially thrilled to see KR continue its trend of including popular artists who have never designed a Dunny before in their trademark 3” blind box series. Names like Scribe, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Jeremiah Ketner, Sergio Mancini and Nakanari have me super excited for this release!

I’m also pretty pumped to see MAD's Vandal design was chosen for this series (originally seen here back in 2009). This is a great reminder to all the artists out there that even if your design isn’t picked when it’s first submitted, there’s always a chance it gets chosen a few series down the line.
