Funko POP! ASIA powered by MINDstyle, commonly released in China only, will be available at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 this week! Celebrating 15 years of producing and curating art toys, MINDstyle is returning to SDCC with an awesome new batch of Funko POP! Johnny Black Edition Vinyl Figure by Futura x MINDstyle

After debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, MINDstyle has released the second colorway of Futura’s awesome new vinyl figure, Johnny! Inspired in part by a classic ‘80s horror film, this 10” vinyl figure features a stylized rendition of Futura’s signature character style with loose, sketch-like details and a mischievous smile. Johnny comes in a deluxe, black-on-black gift box with shaped-foam inserts, and a removable circular base. Pop Life Global will be releasing graffiti icon Futura’s newest vinyl figure, Johnny, exclusively at San Diego Comic Con 2019 later this week! Street Fighter Ryu GRIN Vinyl Figure by Ron English - A ComplexCon 2018 Debut!

Check out this new line of Street Fighter GRIN vinyl figures – a killer collab between Ron English and CAPCOM! Produced by Mindstyle, the first figure in this new line is the Ryu GRIN. It stands a whopping 15” tall, and made its debut this weekend at ComplexCon 2018 where collectors could pre-order this bad ass figure at the Toy Tokyo booth. Toy Toky also had the next Street Fighter GRIN figure on display, which was an insane Blanka GRIN (more on that release to come). Ron English is bringing the heat once again to new licensed property!

The Blot knows absolutely nothing about this release, or if it’s really a San Diego Comic-Con 2018 exclusive, but if you’re at Comic-Con this week head over to the Pop Life SDCC booth #4845 and pick up one of these epic Flyboy 18” vinyl figure by Hebru Brantley! Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure by Mark Bode Available Now!

If you haven’t been picked up Mark Bode’s fantastic Da’ Lizard 11” vinyl figure yet, it’s not too late! While a few of the colorways are now sold out (Black, Gold and Rainbow), there are four colorways still available. Head over to Mark Bode’s online store now where you can pick up the Green, Brown, Magenta and unpainted White editions for $80 each. The Blot’s added a green version to my collection and it rocks! I'm just bummed the Rainbow colorway sold out before I could order one. Each Da' Lizard features multiple points of articulation and comes packaged in a full color box.

SDCC 14 Exclusive Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure Green & Black Colorways by Mark Bode

The Blot’s been patiently waiting for the first release of Mark Bode’s new Da’ Lizard vinyl figure and it’s finally here! Two of the figure’s seven colorways will be dropping exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, and I can’t wait to hear what people think of this new figure once they’ve seen it in person. First up is the OG Green Cheech Lizard, which will be sold exclusively at the Toy Tokyo SDCC booth. Mark will also be having a signing on Saturday, July 26th, at the Toy Tokyo booth. Check with the Toy Tokyo crew for specific times.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Black Cheech Lizard is limited to just 200 pieces and will also drop on Saturday, July 26th, at the MINDstyle SDCC booth #4845 from 12-3pm when Mark will be on hand to sign this awesome figure. Produced by MINDstyle, both SDCC 2014 Exclusive Da’ Lizard vinyl figures stand 11” tall, feature three points of articulation and come packaged in a full color box.

First Look: Magenta & Brown Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure Colorways by Mark Bode

If, like The Blot, you’re anxiously awaiting the release of the new Da’ Lizard vinyl figure by Mark Bode here’s a little more info on the release to wet your whistle! Earlier this week Mark posted the photos above of the painted prototypes of his Magenta and Brown Lizard colorways on his Instagram page. They look fantastic, don’t you think!?!

We also now know each figure will stand 11” tall, come in four different colorways (Green, Magenta, Brown and White), and retail for just $80. Coming Soon: Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure by Mark Bode

Last January The Blot got to see Mark Bode’s amazing Da’ Lizard resin figure in person at the legendary artist’s solo show “The Masked Lizard Rides Again” at Aerosol Warfare here in Houston, Texas. This 6-8” tall unpainted resin figure was limited to just 50 pieces, featured 3 points of articulation and looked seriously fantastic! Unfortunately, one of these figures didn’t go home with me that night. But I did learn some good news that evening, Bode was working on a vinyl release of his Da’ Lizard sculpt!

The Da’ Lizard vinyl figure is almost here and Bode unveiled his first painted prototype and the figure’s packaging artwork. What really stands out from the pictures Mark posted on his Instagram account is that Da’ Lizard is being made by MINDstyle! I didn’t even know they were still in business. There are four colroways in the works (OG Lizard Green, White, Magenta and Brown), and at least one of those will be released by Toy Tokyo. Can’t wait to snag one of these! More details as they become available…

New Dunkeys Vinyl Figures by CoolRain

Korean artist CoolRain is teaming up with MINDstyle once again, this time to release production versions of his popular Dunkeys figures. Inspired by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, Dunkeys are monkeys who dunk sporting NBA game apparel. While I hate Michael Jordan (hey, The Blot’s a Lakers fan), I kinda dig these figures…much more so than the blind boxed NBA line CoolRain released through MINDstyle last year. At least these Dunkeys have some originality to them. My primary issue with these vinyl figures is the same issue I had with that NBA series; their hands, arms and bodies look too much like Michael Lau creations.

CoolRain's “Dunkeys 23” (the first picture above) is an 18” production figure with a limited edition run size of just 300 pieces and retails for $275. CoolRain's “Dunkeys Triple Threat” is a series of three Chicago Bulls inspired 5” Dunkeys, each sold separately. Dunkeys 23 “Pithecuse”, Dunkeys 91 “Simius”, and Dunkeys 3 “Mono” each have a limited edition run size of 500 pieces and retail for $40 each. All four figures are currently available for pre-order and officially go on sale at retails worldwide on September 29th.
