DC Comics’ The Sandman is one of The Blot’s all time favorite comic book series. So I’ve been intently following news of the creation and filming of the new The Sandman streaming television series by Netflix. Here’s hoping they do justice to Neil Gaiman’s magnum opus. To hype the show’s world premiere on August 5th, Netflix released this San Diego Comic-Con 2022 exclusive teaser television poster featuring the series entire cast. Dream dangerously… What do you think!?!

SDCC 2022 Exclusive Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Teaser Movie Poster by Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios made some huge announcements during their Hall H panel yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, but all anyone is talking about is the new teaser trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Soooo many exciting things came out of that trailer, including the live action movie debuts of Namor and Ironheart! Black Panther 2 will also mark the ending of the MCU’s Phase 4. To get fans even more excited, Marvel Studios has released this Black Panther: Wakanda Forever teaser one sheet movie poster. I am really interested to see what kind of tribute the film includes to the franchise’s star, Chadwick Boseman. The film will premiere on November 11, 2022.

SDCC 2022 Exclusive Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania Concept Art Teaser Movie Poster by Andy Park x Marvel Studios

One of The Blot’s favorite parts of San Diego Comic-Con is when Marvel Studios releases concept art teaser movie posters for its upcoming films. This year Marvel released this epic SDCC 2022 Exclusive Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania concept art poster by artist Andy Park! It features Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp, and Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang (aka Stature!) and Jonathan Majors as the villain Kang! This was a huge Comic-Con for Majors coming out of his debut appearance in Loki as it’s now clear that Kang is the central villain of Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the MCU. Here’s hoping Cassie becoming a super hero leads us to the Young Avengers! Ant-Man 3 is going to be nuts!

SDCC 2022 Exclusive Clerks III Movie Poster by Matt Taylor x Kevin Smith

To celebrate the upcoming release of Clerks III in theaters, Kevin Smith and the ViewAskew crew have a lot of exciting things planned for San Diego Comic-Con 2022! That includes this spectacular SDCC 2022 Exclusive Clerks III movie poster by UK artist Matt Taylor! As Smith explained, “if you stop by the Lionsgate SDCC booth on the Convention Center floor to take pics at the Quick Stop Groceries counter, you might score a signed poster or a Clerks 3 bag! (Limited quantities available each day)” The director will even be making sporadic appearances at the booth so fans can take pictures with him at the booth! The Blot would absolutely kill for a screen print of this fantastic movie poster by the UK artist.

SDCC 2022 Exclusive Tiny Con Prints by Scott C.

Scott C. will unfortunately not be at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 this year, but he’s not missing out on the fun! Instead he’s hosting his very own Tiny Con from home where he’ll be releasing a ton of epic prints, pins, stickers and more. First up is “Ocean Leisure Life” ($50), which is a 13”x19” signed and numbered print limited to 250 pieces.

SDCC 2022 Exclusive Sin City 5 Points Action Figures & Screen Prints by Mezco Toyz

Mezco Toyz will be set up at SDCC booth #3145 with some really cool exclusives, including the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Exclusive Sin City The Hard Goodbye Collector’s Capsule! This special edition capsule collection consists of three Sin City sets. Each set includes a hand silkscreened art print on acid free rag paper paired with a Comic-Con exclusive Sin City 5 Points action figure.

The first Sin City The Hard Goodbye Collector’s Capsule features a Marv 5 Points action figure with alternate arm and a screen print featuring die cut “bullet holes”. SDCC 2022 Exclusive Prints by Kevin Tong

Kevin Tong will be at San Diego Comic-Con setting up shop at booth #933 with a bunch of really cool new SDCC 2022 Exclusive Prints! First up, Kevin will be releasing three beautiful new SDCC 2022 Exclusive 9”x12” Letterpress Prints. “Orbital Decay”, “Nymph” and “Wendigo” are each limited to just 60 pieces.

Check out the Comic-Con 2022 Exclusive “Arecibo”, which is an 18”x24” signed and numbered fine art giclee print. It’s limited to just 40 pieces! As Tong explained, “When the Arecibo Radio Telescope collapsed a few years back, a small part of me collapsed too. In addition to bringing to humanity vast troves of information about the cosmos, it was a great set piece for films like Goldeneye, Contact, and The X-Files. There are efforts to try to rebuild it and the valuable data it has collected since the 1960s was saved by an amazing team of people at the University of Texas. Hopefully in the future, it will continue to have a use, even if it's only for two people.”

Tong will also be releasing a new Screen Print Edition of his Drive movie poster, which will be available for the very first time at SDCC. As Kevin explained, “The colors and metallic inks came out beautifully. It's fitting to be debuting this poster at San Diego Comic-Con because I always see people dressed in Drive cosplay as if the Driver was a hero to emulate. He’s not meant to be an aspirational hero, but rather the movie deconstructs what our notion of a “real hero” is. The gruesome violence and lack of humanity required to defeat “bad guys” is shown and anyone the Driver is connected to, despite their innocence, gets injured, threatened, and killed. His intentions might be good, but he can’t change his nature.” 

“This theme is repeated over and over again in the stories about the scorpion and the frog as well as the bit about sharks. He’s not a hero and he was never supposed to be. I wanted my poster to be emulate that. Lots of Drive art shows the Driver more prominently. I wanted to make him look more questionable and like his world was eternally separate from the shimmering world of good people like Irene and Benicio.” – Kevin Tong

SDCC 2022 Exclusive The Great Showdown Timed Edition Prints by Scott C.

Scott C. will unfortunately not be at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 this year, but he’s not missing out on the fun!
